Great video! I really enjoy all your vlogs. You even inspired me to start my own! Long way's from being monetized, but its all part of the process. Keep up the great videos, and wish you continued success 😁😁😁
Keep at it! Doing it because you enjoy it is literally the number 1 goal. And try to make good stuff also, I find helps. Although some people make awful stuff and still succeed so it’s a win, win!
@@SuitcaseMonkey Appreciate the kind response :) The real goal is to make some content that I can look back on years down the road to enjoy when I’m older and senile 😂 Anyhow, keep up the awesome content, looking forward to your next video! Cheers from the U.S
I'm from Porto and all the information and tips that you give are brilliant and so accurate! It's great to see my hometown so well presented. It's a beautiful city, with amazing and kind people. 😊
Just wanted to pop in to say I really enjoy your videos and am wowed each time about the abundance of helpful information you share. Thank you! Your videos are entertaining, informative and super useful 😊😊
Thanks for all the tips👍 we were in Porto almost a year ago in Dec. on a guided tour, we thoroughly enjoyed this city! We were only there for 2 short nights and didn’t get to do a lot of things. Can’t wait to visit this beautiful city again on our own and would love to cruise down the Douro river. We prefer Porto more than Lisbon as well, it’s just more appealing to us.
Incredible video! So detailed and the PDF is a great idea! Thanks for taking so much time over this. We're off to Porto > Lisbon in a month and this is super helpful :)
Thank you ..... once again a great vlog very informative and I must get to Portugal. Love your humour, Michael Fish, tell your kids you paid, and McDonald's music 😂 always look forward to you vlogs
Hi, I'm from Indonesia, and I love your video and everything about the countries or places you have visited. Moreover, it's essential for foreigners or tourists who will visit these places because you can describe everything very clearly and easy to understand. I hope you can come to my hometown, Indonesia. If you want to visit this country at a particular time, I suggest you visit Bali Island, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Labuan Bajo. Don't worry about the season and whether because the sun always shines throughout the year. I hope you learn about local culture and have experiences you don't get in other countries.
Harriet and I have been to Portugal many times. Spent a lot of time in both Lisboa and Porto. Both are great cities. It never gets old for us. However, if we had to choose Lisboa or Porto ? We would choose Porto, simply because of the pace of life. You have done your homework. A great and smart video. 👍👍 Harriet, Jim and Yuki Richmond, Va.
Thanks guys, loving your videos which I’ve just discovered! Yes, like you I fell in love with Porto on my first visit a few years ago. Then I actually stayed in a hotel right on the river which was fabulous. I had a ball exploring there so I’m heading back again to do more discovering there later this year. I must have been lucky re getting into the bookstore, although it was a few years ago and not during peak season, but I just walked straight in with few others there! I loved the ambience of the Majestic Cafe too, but thought it very overpriced! Next time I’ve decided to try a different hotel up the top closer to the rain station on a pedestrian street near a square for a different vibe, so can’t wait to be there to see the Christmas celebrations. Did you go to the Cristal Gardens when you were there? I especially loved wandering around there and all the hidden lanes near it! Cheers from Australia
Both Lisbon and Porto are great. The difference I would make is that Porto is perfect for a long weekend but there is enough to do in and around Lisbon for a whole week.
Interesting! We were in Porto for longer and had just as many or more things on our list. Maybe because we were there longer though I was looking for more things to do which is likely. But still, we still didn’t get to do everything on our list. We were there for 6 days but only filmed for 4.
Hi, we're from Indonesia and will go to Lisbon at the end of August 2024 for a vacation. We will be there for 2 weeks. How far the distance of Lisbon - Porto? Hopefully you can also suggest us the cities, the culinaries, the street foods, the sceneries, the transport from one place to another place, the hotels (not too expensive but comfortable) et cetera. Thank a lot.
This is so good. I visit Porto next month as planning to move to Portugal/Spain in 2025 - this will help so much. Is there a "buy me a coffee" link or something similar?
Thank you. The best way to support the channel (at no cost to you) is to book a hotel or trip through one of the links in the description which gives us a small kick back. Otherwise there’s a monthly Patreon option with some extra perks. But it’s the thought that counts either way! Thank you
Thank you for your informative guide to your visits. A question I often want to ask in such productions is are they accessible to disabled people> My partner cant walk steps and often is in a wheelchair, so do these places enable such folks to access the places to visit.? Even in the UK, most places are not accessible by wheelchair users, eg on the tube in London as thy mostly do not have lifts. So wondering if you could add to your great guides such issues, as access, although I realise some places to visit are in older parts of a town or unable to be disabled access.
Hi there. Thanks for your comments. I have previously been asked about this and thought about including. I ultimately didn’t because it isn’t something I feel I could speak to in enough first hand experience or position of authority for it to be meaningful. I know for London for example, there are sites that specialise in this topic (I don’t have any names but I’ve heard people talk about them) so I’m assuming there are similar blogs or videos or Reddits about the subject that would be ultimately more helpful than whatever I can add. That being said in general, maybe not through lack of trying but Porto is very hilly with lots of steps and such so I would do some research before booking there. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.
I was not a fan of Lisbon because i found it to be like every other international city in the world. It's just not fun to visit big international cities. Porto felt like a more authentic Portugal experience. You didnt have to go far from the beaten path to meet regular everyday Portuguese people (awesome folks btw). It felt like "home" and i would go back 1000 times.
Videos on here take me up to 4-6 weeks of editing, planning, filming 250 shots a day. Facts are checked. Pronunciations checked. They are for travel planning and inspiration on new travel places. Videos on Carry On take 1-3 days, with 250 shots per week and I do whatever I want to do, mostly for sh*ts and giggles, aimed specifically at my own audience without the pressure of growing. As an editor, Carry On is a lot more fun, with less pressure where it doesn’t matter if no one watches. It allows me to take a break from the main channel, and return back to the main channel energised. So that’s the point.
@SuitcaseMonkey you misunderstood what I said ... What's the point of posting same kind of videos on 2 channels ? Voice-over on a selection of 250 videos what will take you 1month and a half to edit ... Would be better to do that one channel 1, and channel 2 something else ? I'm saying that just because I'm running a few channels and all of them are different than other :)
And I’ve just turned the subtitles to Arabic watching through my personal account. So the real question is: why don’t you activate translation into Arabic?
@@SuitcaseMonkey Automatically, okay, but you specify which language you want to translate into. It currently translates English. You can add all the languages of the world from your settings. Thank you for your interest in my suggestion.
Thanks but I still don’t really understand what you mean. If I go on my channel from another account I can change the subtitles to almost any language in the world.
Video with the tired "walkable" tourist itinerary no more than 10% of what the truly effervescent city has to offer... it's a shame they don't get the proper information and follow itineraries with purely commercial interests! I am deeply sorry. Prosit!
Don’t be such an elitist snobby tourist. People can do whatever they want for their holidays and if lots of that involves the popular stuff lots of other people do, cool. Enjoy your own holiday.
@@SuitcaseMonkey Please provide your email address or WhatsApp number and I will be on hand to show you real places of interest, geographical and restaurants with typical local foods.
@@SuitcaseMonkey It is not a question of elitism but of assertive and informed knowledge about the places to visit and enjoy during vacation. Let's be rational and intelligent!
