@@pigstain7531 yeah your argument looks sweet on paper until you take the fact that there isn't a single professional artist that uses an android tablet for art into account. It's just worse both in software and hardware for art specifically
@@pigstain7531bro tried to make a quote… listen. Using a crayon and using paint will give you different results. No matter what, if the skill is equivalent in a the same drawing with the only variable being the tool used (crayon v paint), the paint always wins.
I already have an 11" iPad Pro with M1, but since we had a black friday offer this week with a free keyboard case cover and a free M8 monitor I gave the Tab S9 a shot. Both are great devices, but I prefer the S9 because of the possibility to sideload apps and the screen quality.
5:13 a thing reviewers often forget to mention: the spen only needs to be charged for the bluetooth remote features, something like writing doesnt use the capacitor in the pen at all
Samsung Tab S9 is the best tablet on the market, a multimedia monster. DEX option and we have everything just like in PC. If someone wants to have a tablet for years! S9 the best choice. The best screen, overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, great speakers, support and Samsung system. Maybe S9 is not cheap, but its capabilities outclass all Android tablets on the market. DEX is something great and you can use S9 like a PC.
@@TechGearTalkunfortunately when i was looking at the s9fe, the ipad 10 performance really beats the 9fe but i am modding my game, and yes i did manage to make the ipad freeze and drop the frame rate to less than 10 in a game that i plan on playing during the end game so that spells bad news for the s9fe especially since thats without the mods, the ipad 10 already suffers But if the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 finally has on par performance with the a14, id get an s9 in a heartbeat
if the s9 is better or not than the ipad pro is up for debate, but outside ecosystem considerations, the S9 is clearly ahead of the air in almost every aspect and even speed is not an argument, other than for the GPU
@@MANUEL-gi1uf fanboy de que? Tengo mas iPads que tablets Samsung. Tengo un iPad con M1 y la S9 y son mucho mas cerca de lo que piensas. M1 was much more powerful 2-3 years ago, things are changing now...
@@sycron17 Assuming? I guess you are the only one who is assuming here. Assuming I don't have these devices. I have had virtually all the generations of iPad pro until the M1 (9.7 pro, 10.5, A12X pro 1TB with 6GB RAM like the A12Z, and M1) and of the Tab S since the S4 (except the S6, the S5 never existed). And I still have all of them, I have only sold the S7. You instead sound like an Apple fan who is trying to move to Android and didn't like it. Which is fine. And that's what I said when I said "ecosystem considerations". There are things I prefer in the iPad pro compared to the Galaxy tabs, and viceversa, otherwise I would not own both. But the S9 and the S23u stuttering and freezing? That's nonsense.... The S9 is the first Galaxy tab that feels as fast as an iPad pro (I have the base 5G version, bought it for a steal in mint conditions at $400, and I also have the S23 256GB, also bought at a significant discount). Back in 2018 the S4 with the SD835 was similar to or even slower than the 2015 A9X in the first iPad pro, while the A12X was many times faster. So fast, that even today it doesn't stutter in the slightest with iPadOS 17. I barely notice the difference with the M1 unless I compare them side by side. And that's the point. Past a certain speed it doesn't matter anymore, other than to fanboys trying to say their favorite brand is the best or those looking at gaming benchmarks (I don't have time for gaming, so GPU peak performance is not something I care about). Well the S9 is that first tablet that is finally faster than the A12X/Z and it's so close to the M1 that you only see the small difference when comparing them side by side. So speed does not matter. And other than that, as I said in my comment, the S9 is better in everything compared to the air 5, speakers, screen, storage capacity. That's facts, not assumptions.
Though my current tablet is the Ipad Pro due to its age I need a new tablet. While I've enjoyed my ipad and it served me well I've often been a bit anti Apple there are things they do I haven't liked. Examples are no SD card slot like an Android tablet. I felt like they wanted you to pay more for extra storage but an Android tablet was easily expandable. Not only that but being an enthusiast photographer a card slot was handy when I wanted to transfer photos from my DSLR or bridge camera. I could with Android put memory card in. Apple made a memory card reader but charged around £25 for that. Now both my cameras have WiFi and there are apps for them so it's easier. Another thing was I disliked ITunes. Maybe partly I wasn't used to it but I found that software awkward to use. With every other phone tablet and digital music download site they use the Mp3 format or perhaps some audiophile format like Flac. An android phone or tablet would take practically any format you could throw at it Wma wmv. With Apple and ITunes they not surprisingly to me had their own audio file format can't remember it's name. But if I wanted to get MP3 tracks on my ipad there was no simple copy and paste drag and drop. I felt like I had to jump through hoops to get my music on. Import export convert it was unnecessarily harder. Because Apple always want you using their stuff nobody else's. It's only due to peer pressure that they've started including USB C on their products.
Another thing to mention: almost EVERY app needs you to pay (mostly subscription) on apple devices while you find lots of free or at least fair deal apps on android.
So basically the Tab S9 is the better tablet in almost every aspect, but loses because the government can't stop companies garden walling with a device ecosystem that shuts down competition, since people can't leave. S9 and beyond should be given so much more credit for how good they are, but as I said, it doesn't matter. It should but it doesn't until we fix the core problem.
I was between ipad air 5 and galaxy s9 for a while now and went with galaxy s9 on sale and plus samsung tag gift. 64 gb storage on ipad air is a total deal breaker and will be obsolete in 1-2 years or with some heavy apps download. s9 is super snappy and display is just far better than ipad air5. also sound quality is outstanding when consuming films, series, or animes. deffo recommend it 👍
Still using my ipad pro 10.5 64gb for writing this comment 64gb is just enought for ke.. all my files are on onedrive and icloud Using the ipad for media consumption and reviewing excel , powerpoint n pdf files

Always appreciate your fair and balanced reviews. I hate Apple, but their hardware and apps are still unmatched by Android. But Android is getting better after years behind.
I just sold my iPad m2 12.9 in and got me a Samsung tab s9 and I don’t regret it. It’s better to hold and the display is better visually I still have my iPhone and MacBook. Unfortunately I felt like my iPad was just a bigger phone. With the tab s9 it does feel like another device plus expandable storage is a huge plus.
So glad you got a device that worth great for your needs - that's the most important part. I appreciate you contributing and being part of the community.
Same I have a MacBook and iPhone and had the iPad pro 2018, but got an s9 tablet and I use it way more than my iPad pro. I love the s9, the display is beautiful and using the spen for note taking is way better than the apple pencil .
Reasons I bought the S9+: I love to watch videos and series in oled or amoled displays, the screen size is perfect not so big as te ultra but big enough to open two apps, also the keyboard included and the pencil made it cheaper and ready to go, also it has some design apps good enough like indinite painter and krita. Reasons I regret not buying the ipad air: Procreate.
What's your opinion now on Getting the Air M2 or S9+. I am having doubt in deciding between them.😅 I mainly wanted a tab for my studies and note taking purpose.
Yeah I feel you. I'm an Apple user and only use Apple devices but I would choose the s9 tab over any of the iPads now just because of the AMOLED display alone. It's criminal that Apple still sells the iPad Air with an outdated 60hz lcd panel when even the regular iPhone has an OLED
Yeah. I'm testing an iPad Air 5 that my DD doesn't use, but I'm an android/Samsung ecosystem user and it's been terrible so far. The first problem is the lack of multiple user functionality. The rest is just that, as an android user, I find it unintuitive and not user friendly.
I was thinking the same thing, cause I have a Mac, and I'm wondering if buy an iphone (actually I own a pixel ,6). I love the Mac, an apple ecosystem is really cool, Im a marketing entrepreneur. Any suggestions?
Just purchased the S8+ bc I couldn't pass up the Amazon renewed price and locally, the price of the S9+ is too high. 3 years of security updates don't really matter much to me bc lbr, I'll upgrade before then (I get tired of tech easily LOL) I'm sooo excited for it to arrive after using my iPad Air 4 for years at this point. Idk how I was able to use 64gb of storage but somehow I did. It's more of a media consumption device for me then, but I've been needing it for work recently so I needed an upgrade.
all signs point to the tab s9 for me, (especially since I have a Samsung phone) you can pay for 128 GB storage, battery life, display quality, water and dust resistance, the camera and microphone quality. However, the iPad Air has a more practical aspect ratio because I want to use it for digital art ('paper' size). It would be more comfortable to hold, the Apple pencil seems better than the Spen, it would last long. (like multiple years), and the fact that it has the app Procreate, which I prefer to use, while Google Play doesn't. I don't know what to do! I want to use either one of these for digital art/graphic design.
Particularly i don't have problem with either of them .To me what most matters is battery life cause i have to attend lectures. Like 6 hrs/ day(using wifi) . So i need suggestion considering battery life which should i go for .
Dude geniune advice... I have a A8 tablet and it can smoothly for 6 hours and plus... It's been a year since I am using it and I take lectures on it...never had to face battery problems...I think go with the Samsung cuz it has a slot for SD card and has much greater storage than IPad.... plus the Spen comes along with the tab..
Thanks to you I got my Samsung galaxy tab 8+ and it's amazing even though I have iPhone 15 Pro Max. This tablet is the best when I travel and to watch movies.
I’ve recently found your channel and have enjoyed many of your videos. I am a new subscriber and look forward to seeing more content. Can you please tell me where you get yourscreen savers? Every time you show the iPad with one of those animated backgrounds I lose my mind. I would love to add them to my iPad. Thanks.
I would love to get a galaxy s9 (specifically the plus one) because it is better value for money... Here in Italy, Ipad air 256gb with an apple pen is 1138€ and a galaxy s9+ tab costs 1119€ and has the pen included. The thing is that s9+ has the same quality of ipad pro 12 9 and ipad air doesn't hold a candle to either. Ipad pro 12 9 256gb is 1600€ and if you add the ben it adds up to 1750... So the smartest choice money wise is samsung. However, I've been watching videos about Procreate and I really want it😭 I need a tablet/ipad mainly for taking notes and drawing, which one should I go for? Ipad air or samsung s9+?
Obviously tab s9 , currently typing on a tab s6 and honestly im still in love with it. Quad speakers free pen , got me a keyboard, have done countless school work on it , bingewatch whatever with headset connected to it , gaming is perfect. Battery still hasn't failed me yet
I also am using the Tab S6 (original version) and still love it. The AMOLED display is super great on this tab. The only thing making me consider upgrading is the new OneUI updates, which are much an upgrade from UI4, which is pretty glitchy sometimes and is slowly losing support for apps.
you probably havent tried apple's OS. once you're in, you will praise and appreciate the seamlessness, constant and longer updates, and better apps and optimizations. I've been using android, and i just had my ipad air 5 and iphone. Damn, the OS is just that simple, smoother, and all. I really do miss the sideloading and customizability of android, but i can trade those for the ease and better apps and updates. PS. The tab S9 lineup are great (hardware and stuff), but what makes it sh*t is android itself.
@@quadragoo8484 Yeah, no, I'll take functionality over aesthetics.. 😂 and yes, I've owned Apple products my whole life before switching to Samsung, and I do not regret it. Besides, the 120hz displays (which most iPad don't have) paired with the new One UI 6.1 animations make the experience very smooth. iOS may have a better design, but it's also the most restrictive OS ever, and you can't do anything outside the limits Apple puts you in. Samsung/android tablets give you expandable storage, more internal storage, better RAM options, OLED screens, the ability to sideload, emulate, universal back button, way more customization, DEX, and more. All of that isn't worth losing for some nice animations and UI.

I have an S7 plus and S8 ultra, and i use Ugreen to charge my tablets as it does support superfast charging. It even tells you once you plug it into a ugteen adapter.
@romanyeshua8238 I wrote this months ago, so I don't remember the video exactly. But I am quoting the video itself and agreeing with the statement in general terms. I'm not saying that one of these is nice and the other isn't. IMHO, I like Samsung. I had an iPad Air and didn't like it. That's just me. They are both good products. It's a matter of preference.
For me, im leaning more towards the Ipad Air 5, mostly because of the M1 Chip, Procreate dream, and Final Cut Pro, and also because i also use a macbook and an iphone, so ipad is really a no brainer for me, now the Tab S9 is good, but for my use cases and what im looking for in a tablet, the Tab S9 is just not it
I would request yall to push to the iPad Pro 128 if possible. 64 is just not possible to use for 4 to 5 years. You will be upgrading in 2 to 3 years because the storage isn’t enough.
S9 all the way.. the 64gig storage limitation on the iPad without a card slot is a serious problem and deal breaker for sure.. come on Apple get your shit together.😎 Excellent review! I love your thoroughness and your unbiased approach. You tell it exactly like it is.
So, the Tab S9 wins in almost all aspects except for performance, but it costs battery life. On the other hand, the iPad wins in terms of updates and service. It seems that if you're aiming for performance and planning to use a device for more than 4 years, then the iPad is better. However, if you intend to replace it after 4 years and aren't pushing it to its limits, the S9 is better.
Still difference ecosystem especially for access Apple ori apps. Page, Keynote, Numbers, Notes and Reminders are the tops compare to Android apps. For serious business for Ipad, for entertainment go for Android
I watched this video because I'm in the market for a new tablet and it would be a choice between these two. I own an old 9.7 Ipad Pro 128gb bought in mid 2016. It still performs okay but during the pandemic the battery went kaput after about five years. Apple wouldn't replace the battery. That could be partly due to the fact when the battery went i got it replaced at a local mobile phone shop. I think they used a generic battery which was never as good. Now that battery is on its way out. I could've got another battery put in but my ipad is IOS 16. Apple have no plans to udate this old model to 17. I use my tablet to surf and for social media RU-vid and music videos watching TV shows/films. I also like photography so I may view and edit photos. I'm leaning towards the S9 because I can get a 128gb new or opened but unused one for £515 vs £590 for a new 64gb Ipad.
I am so torn between these two because of the aspect ratio. Pictures look better on the iPad, but on the Samsung it seems that you’re shortening your picture viewing area. In 4:3 photos I mean.
s9 128GB @ $500 or Air 5 64GB @ $366. I have Android games I've bought and enjoy emulation on the OLED screen but also have an iPhone, Apple TV and Homepod mini. It's tough to decide. What would you do?
I always like your videos and brought A6400 camera after your review. However, I wish I should have listened to your advice "But it nice, or buy it twice" and gone for A6600.
The price comparison you did at the end should have imcluded the Apple pencil to be more fair. Here in Europe the price is huge in favour of the Galaxy Tab S9
If you have the money go for it, if not, buy anything that opens the software you would use. I mean if you need photoshop probably better buy a wacom and a gaming PC... if you need procreate then go and buy the ipad air for example, if you are good enough designing probably any device would work like the tab S9 with software like Infinite painter or similar being a cheaper choice would be a good choice as well.
Easy choice for me the iPad. The functionality is better for me needs, with onenote respectively, and deeper integration between apps with sharesheets, the iOS workflow feature, focus modes with different set ups… However, I picked up an Amazon Fire max 12 for £135 and for what I’m using that for it’s great value as a family shared tablet (allows more than one user). My main phone is an android phone: quad dac, 3.5mm headphone socket, sd card slot, standalone slab or integrated dual screen options. And cost £650 new with second screen.

Hello @TechGearTalk I had a question Sir, I use Luma fusion on my Older iPad Pro 2nd Gen and am deciding for a upgrade so, can you help me decide if Apple’s Silicon chipset us gonna give me a Maximum Outcome or Qualcom’s SD 8 Gen Chipset
Thank you for watching - Apple's chip is more powerful than the SD8G2 ship - especially for GPU performance - I hope that helps. Thank you for being part of the channel!
what should I choose for genshin impact or all in all gaming? Tab S9 in my country is much more expensive than Air 5 64 GB, but I can afford Tab s8 256 gb what should I choose?
For Genshin specifically, the iPad is probably a better choice. The performance is better. The only downside is probably that you would need to pay extra to get the 256gb variant of the ipad cuz 64gb is just not enough.
Im a genshin player who plays on ipad mini 6 64gb and se 3 128gb. If it's the only game you play and you are mindful with your storage, 64gb is not much of an issue. But if you play another game which is supposed to take up big space of your storage then I discourage purchasing 64gb apple device as it wont be enough. I own my ipad mini 6 since 2022 and play genshin in it and I dont really have any significant issues despite the size or that my device is getting old. It doesnt heat up that much. I purchased it with the intention of using it on my job (and I eventually did). With my simplistic usage of my mini though it's already 51/64gb. Which is fine with me because again it makes me mindful and remind me to check and delete some files or reinstall some apps to have some space. Im the kind that is ok with physical clutter but not with digital clutter it's my pet peeve. So really, deciding which device youll pick is down to your intention oh how youd use it. My take is normal files nowadays take up more space than it does 2-3 years ago so in the next few years 64 gb will be too small of a storage (it already is rn).
It depends on how integrated your daily use is. Personally - I almost always suggest staying within a single ecosystem for the best experience. Hope that helps 🙏🏻
I’m really torn between the 2 tabs since I’m already invested with apple ecosystem but I really want to get the tab s9.. Is there any chance that I can connect the tab s9 with my macbook? or I should just go with an ipad? 😢 really need opinions.. thank you!
No easy way to connect a tab s9 with your macbook. I would get the ipad pro 4th gen 11 inch m2, which is similar to the tab s9 but a little more expensive
That is a fairly basic use-case so they could both do what you need. I would take a look at what ecosystem you're in and take that into account. Hope that helps.
I want to mention Krita as an app that is not supported on iPads due to it being based on OpenGL. It's my go-to drawing app so if I buy a tablet for drawing, I'd have to pick an Android device simply because Apple refuses to support open standarts.
what do you think.. i was planning to buy ipad air 5, just about a few days ago. Then I have read that in march there will be a few new ipads. And right now I think that the best option is waiting to drop the prices, but tbh i am not into all this stuff and i dont know if the prices will really go down or not and how much? Or maybe buy other ipad? My requirements are high quality of graphic and draw stuff, and of cors do notes in school. But as far as it goes i am not really demanding person.
Ipad storage is a deal breaker. Im just a student so i dont need anything fancy so that s9 is perfect for me. BUT IPAD HAS PROCREATE. If samsung has an app that could match procreate, I will not look at any ipad's direction again.
I have a confusion ..nearly everyone says Ipad does not lag or it wont have any major issues whereas other products will have problems after 2-3 years ...is it true??
Apple has to give the next generation Air and Mini 128GB base storage. the only thing I take over the iPad with Samsung is that display. but as a suer of both (Pro 12.9 and S9 Ultra), iPad wins for me but I am heavily invested in the ecosystem.
i hope the new snapdragon x elite chip comes to android tablet so we can have an even playing field interm of power. it should be a fair battle between the both, ofc a phone cheap gonna perform worse than a chip built for computers. coz of this reason imo even with the quality samsung bring it still is a bit overpriced for its performance, idk for other countries but its def too expensive in my country.
I think so they have too much features for student like artificial texting one which converts hand written text into digital font very good for people who have bad handwriting like me
Sir I'm a med student and want a tablet for note taking. I want my tab to last long like 5-6 years. And also a good note taking experience.I like the ipad pro 2022, but its already 1or 2 years old , so is it wise to purchase it now? Is it going to have future updates for like 5 years from now?
You said when it comes to updates you will choose ipad considwring its 2yrs old only fiew years of updates remaining while tab s9 is the latest from samsung
That you so much for watching. In terms of longevity - I've had iPad receive updates for 8 years. When I couple that with improved cpu and GPU performance - I consider it to be an advantage.
I have the tab s8 and I know the tab s9 is way better than the iPad. I play super smash bros on my tab s8 all the time . Also the levels of multi tasking, etc
Hello I m a medical student I have decided to buy a tab for watching videos Taking notes And saving book pdf But i m confused between ipad air and samsung s9 /s9+ So could you tell me ?
