@@xxsaruman82xx87 No, he is not. I know it may be hard for you to understand singing, as you probably don't really do it for a living, but John is what I'd call a cavalier baritone. Happy to sing high notes but his voice doesn't live there. Nucci is infamously a "tenor" but has been paid, and still is being paid, as a baritone. Do not tell another singer what fach they are. You are not them.

@@thomaslehmanbaritone Perhaps you should listen to Mr Hvorostovsky’s interpretation before dismissing the comment. I first heard the Russian sing this aria in the 1989 Cardiff Singer of the World competition, as it was part of his winning program. @@ixopo6715 Yes, I've seen every single clip from both of their song and aria prize winning performances. I've seen both of them live many times and consider them legends in the operatic world who everyone should aspire to be.
