The power of guitar is there is no age restriction.Ive seen on YT 90 yr olds play better guitar than me.But Don Felder looks good for being 70.Hell Ozzy still jumps around on stage and he's in his late 60's I think.
Steuart Smith that plays Felders parts in the Eagles band now just looks like he is on stage working and thats all. Never smiles if so rarely. He does not have Felder's charisma that is for sure. Actually he is boring to watch. It is amazing just to watch Felders fingers as he plays.
pdwrocks 1 It is impossible to tell whether it is a true smile or not. Do you recall a time in 1980 where the Eagles were smiling at the audience but calling each other assholes and saying they were gonna kill each other backstage? Resulted in the breaking of the band
Mr Fluthy Saw him just a few months ago & he smiled & interacted with the audience the entire show. Glenn wasn't there to agitate him so I'm thinking it's genuine. Chill.
Again great guitar player, but no lead singer ability. Greedy as well, without eagles he wouldn't even be known. He may have come up with the riff for hotel California, but that's it. Without Glen and Frye it was just that a riff.
What the heck is wrong with those that thumbs downed this extraordinary performance by a legend. They must be Justin Bieber or Ariana Grande fans. This sound like the LP recording. Magnificent !
No importa que miembro de la banda lo interprete..... ONE THESE NIGHTS, es una de las mejores canciones de la historia del Rock and Roll. Saludos de Lima Peru. 👍
DON FELDER IS AWESOME, HE LOOKS GREAT SO WHAT IF CANT SING LIKE DON HENLEY, IT'S JUST A BLESSING TO BE PLAYING AND SINGING, AT THAT AGE, YALL QUIT HATING.
Yeah but that’s like buying a colouring book for someone, and then when they open it and all they see is twenty blank pages, you say SO WHAT ITS STILL A BOOK IT HAS PAGES QUIT HATING. Well, no it’s not a colouring book, it’s twenty blank pages. And no, it’s not that Felder can’t sing like Henley, he can’t sing, making him not a singer, just like how your twenty blank pages are not a colouring book
Don is a great guitarist. you can tell by his technique. Knows his scales, major and minor mixes, etc. Maybe not a great singer but his playing makes up for it.
Great, in the early 2000s I was listening to the Eagles live in Lucca on the radio, after a few songs I asked myself "why does Felder sound so cold today?" I learned that it wasn't Felder but a session musician. Sin !
Without Don Felder, there would be no Hotel California. The Eagles would have existed as a group, but probably not ascended to the upper reaches of rock stardom without that song. Felder is way more important to the Eagles than most people realize.
Whoa… his vocals were unexpected, but nice! Makes me wonder how many more hits the Eagles could have had if Felder had flexed his vocals more often. Hidden talent!
If Felder sung they didn't have got one single hit. He use autotune. He is a fantastic guitar player, but his singing is bad! You can listen to one song where he sung on an Eagles record (One of these nights), "Too many hands" written by Felder. The other guys gave him an introduction treat, when he joined the band at that time. I love Felder's playing, but his singing. Nope!
He sure made the strings talk in that solo part of ONE OF THESE NIGHTS. When you listen to the original make it is outstanding. One of the best guitar players in rock history.
What a great song . Mr. Felder knocked the ball out of the park, with this tune , and I thought the vocal performance was nothing less than excellent , in my humble opinion .
Obviously, he's no lead vocalist. But, he's an icon. I would love to see him perform. He can lay claim to a a dozen iconic guitar solos and riffs. How many can say that? No, he was not going to take a vocal part away from anyone in the Eagles.....Glenn Frey said it best some people never get to touch the ball. But, his contribution was huge.
So glad i saw all of them together way back in 1994 when they were at their peak. Don is doing well here though. i feel he was often dismissed by the other band members and was not respected or treated fairly.
Don turned 71 today and he is still an absolutely amazing musician and performer. Epcot visitors enjoyed the day I'm sure. Thanks for posting the video.
Well his dream finally came true, Felder always wanted to sing lead on some songs...he didn’t sound too bad either. But back in the day Henley and Frey were just the men for the job when it came to lead vocals. Felder is and will always be one of my favorite lead guitarist. Nothing can touch Joe Walsh and Don Felders guitar playing on Hotel California.
One of these nights One of these crazy old nights We're gonna find out pretty mama What turns on your lights The full moon is calling The fever is high And the wicked wind whispers and moans You got your demons you got desires Well I got a few of my own Ooh... someone to be kind to in between the dark and the light Ooh... coming right behind you swear I'm gonna find you One of these nights One of these dreams One of these lost and lonely dreams now We're gonna find one Mmmm... one that really screams I've been searching for the daughter of the Devil himself I've been searching for an angel in white I've been waiting for a woman who's a little of both And I can feel her but she's nowhere in sight Ooh... loneliness will blind you in between the wrong and the right Oh-whoa-oh Ooh... coming right behind you swear I'm gonna find you One of these nights (One of these nights...) I was lucky enough to get to see him live and man what a treat!!! The guy can play and a very cool dude on stage, the backup band also kicked some ass!!!
@@bluejaysbaseball What did you dream at night? You wouldn't sound the same. Everybody knows that autotune won't help if you can't sing. Autotune can help if a vocalist has a hoarser voice during the gig or if you want to use it as cleary audible effect (eg. some Cher songs)
Wow. Really love his voice. Great backing vocals as well. Would love to be there. Felder gives off such a good vibe. Definitely putting this in my favorites.
That was beautiful! He’s so good away from the arrogance of Glen Frey the shadow of maybe the best voice in rock music in Don Henley. His guitar playing is underrated, he’s good!
For those comparing his vocals to Henley's do you really think they came to hear Felder's vocals? They are there for the licks. Also, has anybody ever gone to a Don Henley show to hear him play the drums? Chew on that...
I Had No Idea He Sang So Good........It Will Never Happen,Well Maybe If Hell Freezes Over But It Would Be Great To See Him Back In The Eagles,They Have Become A Bit Of A Cabaret Act Of Late.........I Would Think He Is Happy Solo,Can Imagine Henly Being A Royal Assclown To Work With /For.
For an older rock and roll guy, he looks great. i've seen old rockers that look like they're on their last leg. he has an amazing video that shows how to play the solo to hotel california. will always be indebted to him for his genuineness and decency.
One of the most Extremely underated band members of the Eagles, would love to meet/see him in concert somewhere in N.E. FL. Kinda reminds me of the great Jonesy in Zep...
