@Ryan John mmm I would say it has more to do with him being raised a military kid than it does being a wrestler. I’ve met plenty of wrestlers that were very brash, cocky and disrespectful personality wise.
@Ryan John Yeah I mean wrestling is the same as any highly competitive sport that requires great mental and physical toughness to do it in that aspect. There’s always going to be those guys that get an over inflated ego and attitude from doing it. It is what it is. But one thing is for certain, that type of attitude towards peers and those with authority over you won’t fly in the military world so that culture mindset tends to get passed down to the children of the military personnel.
@@johnmoyarbmg5845 wow I’ve never seen someone make a YT comment radiate with such anger and depression, hope u get help my friend. Have a wonderful day
whattt too many videos ive heard him drop that wrestling background he apparently has take one look at the dude and you can tell hes never done any type of competitive sport lol
That Takayama fight was UNREAL! Each of them with a half plum clinch with one hand and BLASTING each other in the FACE with the other. Better than a movie.
@@NickCTaylor oh yeah....that reminds me a lot of the beginning of Guida v Sanchez...lol. Frye and Takayama were just battering each other in the clinch. Bigfoot v Hunt 1 is my personal favourite MMA fight of all time. They went all 5 rounds and were bloodied and battered. There were so many momentum switches I remember watching it live.....the longer the fight went the more crazier it became.
This has to be the most humble guy vlad has ever interviewed. Even being that he is tougher than almost anyone vlad has ever interviewed. From years of experience, I've known many loud mouths and some quiet/humble guys as well. It's always the humble guy who stands up when it gets rough.
Dons the definition of tough ...he went years after a back surgery with the rod in his back being unknowingly broken witch they didn’t fix till years later : different breed !!!!
I never would think that in my life I'll see Don Frye on Vald. 2020 just keep on getting stranger. I love Don Frye. One of the badass MMA fighter back in the day.
OMG Vlad got Don Frye!!!! This man is an absolute warrior. This dude was beating the hell out of guys in front of 80,000 people in the Tokyo Dome wearing his American flag outfit. Vlad has really got one of the goats sitting with him.
Don "The Predator" Frye!- Straight pioneer of the game. It was NHB (No Holds Barred) back then. The term Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) was a long way off. Nice Pull Vlad
Don Frye was one of the toughest fighters in UFC history. He submitted Tank Abbott while his face was completely covered with blood. Ken Shamrock tried to break his leg, but he wouldn't tap. He beat Gilbert Yvel after being severely eye gouged, he also beat the hell out of a Japanese giant.
He's an absolute legend, greater than any modern MMA fighter. Hats off to him! Also, why the hell is he not an actor? He'd be perfect for cowboy-themed commercials or a western film
Watching Don Frye back in the day was like getting a preview of what MMA was going to turn into. The man is a legend. Straight up tough as nails alpha male. He's a guy that would become good at anything he chose to do because he'll put in whatever work necessary. that comes from upbringing.
How does wrestling skills help you when you getting the shit kicked out of you by a bunch of dudes? Did he like latch on to one of their legs and due to his wrestling skills he wouldn’t let go. Glad smh
