When I worked as a producer of a Sports Radio show I would occasionally use this song as rejoiner music. Probably the only time this song has ever been on the radio
Absolutely insane the amount of great bands from this era where they release very little with such massive talent, and then split up into obscurity never to be seen or heard
Honestly, with all do much much respect to those forebearers and those that came after, this is timeless brilliance that should define what we refer to as emo.
I would have to say SINKER played a big roll in emo. They were only around for a brief period in 1993. January-July. They did do a demo tape in 1992. They put out 1 of the best 7" w/ amazing bass playing. Also the members went on to form Indian Summer & also Amber Inn. Scott Torguson started Amber Inn & also owned Sunny Sindicate records. Adam Nanaa & Seth Nanna formed Indian Summer after the break up. Talk about history in the making. SINKER 7" self-titled had the beautiful brilliant songs "Thoughts On Beauty" & "Perseverance" Amazing lyrics & vocals. I still have my copy from 30 years ago. Adam Nanaa also played in Jaberjaw prior to SINKER. They did a split in 1992 w/ The Blood Hound Gang & had a 7" EP called "Novelty" SINKER also had a song on Ebullition records compilation 3/12/93.
Lyric: We start to get away from ourselves, with great aggession So many questions We looked at the setting sun There's nothing more than our own twisted imaginations Often times I find myself back in the east or whatever Just to kill whats happening in my eyes My eyes To find your true love Doing more than intended Help me Yes it's true i love you Hey We start to get away from ourselves, with great aggession So many questions We looked at the setting sun There's nothing more than our own twisted imaginations Often times I find myself laughing hysterically I'm just a kid whos grown up in this house My own home To find your true love Doing more than intended Hey Yes it's true i love you Hey Transistor Transistor Transistor
"often times I find myself back in the East or something" is not it lol. He says "often times we find ourselves laughing hysterically/as tears travel from your eyes..."
The guitar in the begining is so beautiful! You can tell the song is just going to be a rager!!!! And it definitely is. Such great music back in the 90s. I ❤️d SINKER & STILL LIFE & Bob Tilton as well. Cannot forget Moss Icon & Indian Summer & Amber Inn. 1 more Cap N Jazz & so many more Emotive Hardcore.
it's funny, this video was uploaded in 2011, by the time I stumbled on it in December 2013 (when I was 18 yrs old) it only had 30 likes and 0 dislikes. at that time I sent this song to my friend asking what his opinion was because I started to think that I was crazy, as I thoroughly felt and appreciated this song at that time. I said "its as if nobody appreciates this music the way I appreciate it", to which he responded "yeah but you appreciate a lot", so that didn't really help. I'm glad to see that it's found it's appreciation cuz it felt kinda lonely at that time. Now I don't even feel much anymore when listening to this music, I think skramz is THE music that some young adults need, and it just took a while for the new generaiton to find out about this as they guys who might've listened to this in the 90s are now boomers, and now I feel myself boomerize and becoming mundane.
Put the video in full screen, stare at the point in the middle of the nose with minimum blinking, then when the song end look at something white and blink quickly
So weird: that song was part of a dream last night. Its been quite a while since I listened to it the last time. I couldn't even remember the artist and the title, so it took me some investigation to get here. This track feels so ancient, from a time long long ago...
we start to get away from ourselves, with great aggession. so many questions. ______son. there's nothing more than our own twisted imaginations. how many times do we find ourselves living back in the east, _______ (screams) yes it's true i love you, yes it's true i love you.. transistor. transistor. transistor...
Maybe? But why do you think an emo band in the mid 90s would be inauthentic enough to rip something else away from another artist. I think it is a case of convergence. Indian Summer (with woolworm [Angry Son]) and DM3 (with Transistor) found the same solutions, just not exactly at the precise time. [Kinda like the Calculus argument over Newton vs Leibniz (they both "discovered" it, in different lands as contemporaries but not as plagiarists.)]
