The Red SRT Train Line finally gives the oportunity to take the elevated Train Line from Don Mueang Airport to the city. On the 2nd of August the New line opened. แอร์พอร์ตลิงค์ดอนเมือง
I walked from the Arrival hall at Don Mueang airport towards the NEW train, to see how long the whole trip takes. It took me 31 minutes from the departure hall towards the Bang Sue Blue MRT.
The train is free for the coming 3 months and will go every 30 minutes now. After the trial preiod the train will go every 15 minutes.

Great video. I flew to Don Mueang Airport from London throughout the 1990s and used to take the "ordinary train" from Don Mueang Station to Hualamphong Station. 3rd class for 5 baht! Took about an hour. I think I was the only foreigner taking the train from Don Mueang. It was my secret journey! Time have certainly changed, and from the look of it for the better, though I used to enjoy going native as soon as I arrived in Thailand.

This will answer many questions. 😃 This one here is only "HALF" of the Don Mueang Station, The other half will be built in the High-Speed Rail Linking Three Airports Project opposite the airport (Don Mueang-Suvarnabhumi-U-Tapao high-speed railway) Don Mueang Station will be a station that supports long-distance high speed train. There will be many projects to upgrade Don Mueang Airport in the future. I hope the information is still correct.

Bangkok transportation would be easily your main content as no one else does it in English. This also draws a huge number of viewers in near future when things are back to normal and Bangkok is the most visited city in the world for years so this kind of information is in need. Maybe you do a tour from Don Mueng Airport to Asoke in one shot (and vice versa) so tourists could see how to change from one main station (eg SRT) to another station (MRT) and then to a BTS station. It's so enjoyable to watch this kind of content also.

Great! It is finally open! When I was there at Don Mueang 5 years ago, the rail line was still under construction. I traveled to and from downtown by bus No. 59, which was an interesting experience. Watching this was kind of cathartic. When I travel between asian cities - Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Denpasa etc - I use Don Mueang. When you get off the train to the old station from Bangkok, you actually phisically walk over the rail tracks in order to start your long walk to the station. Now I see they've built a shiny new station - can't wait to travel from the UK to Bangkok to see how getting to DM airport has improved.

It so funny what you do, just travelling with the MRT/BTS or whatever and show the whole trip. This is what I used to do all the time when I was in Bangkok. Must say that the trip from the arrival hall to the platform is a real long walk. Beautiful metro by the way, 1 long one which you can walk all the way through. Also amazing to see that you know all the buildings and companies Great video!

5:53 you can see all the protruding concrete columns coming out of the station. Those will be for the HSR and ARL platforms in the future. Don Mueang station were designed to be extendable. Also 8:37 no Jeroen the tracks there are for the Long Distance SRT Trains, they're not running there at the moment cause the old diesel engines will smoked everyone on the platforms. There's a plan to buy new hybrid diesel/electric trains, to replace the old polluting ones so they can finally get onto the new stations on the red line, the old trains as they are now can't get onto Bangsue for obvious reason. Eventually the tracks at the ground level will be dismantled and all the trains will be running above ground there, eliminating any chances for accidents with cars.
@globaltravelmate

Thanks for the update :-) 👍
@akarouge
@akarouge 3 года назад
Old trains can still run into Bang Sue, as long as they are fitted with ETCS Level 1 equipment. There are vents that vacuum out diesel fumes on the long distance platforms. And diesel-electric still means the train will use only diesel, only to generate power for the electric equipment. You're looking for electro-diesel, which won't be coming for a long time, the long distance tracks are barely electrified.

It may quite far to walk from Train station to Terminal for now. But new Terminal (Terminal 3) and a Commercial Area (Junction Terminal) Will be constructed soon. Replace the old domestic terminal and parking lot you see from the skywalk to station. Also New Terminal 3 is designed to be Domestic and after Terminal 3 operational Terminal 1,2 will be fully converted to International to reuse existing gates/piers which designed Heavy Aircraft like 777,787,747s,A3xx since the day DMK are the Main Bangkok airport before Suvarnabhumi. And so Skywalk will be directly connect to the Junction Terminal in midpoint between Domestic and International.
