Organ donors are heroes. To Don's family: I know the pain is so hard to bear. I just want to remind you of what you already know: your father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend... he gave one of the greatest gifts possible. Many never have the courage or the opportunity to give it. He gave the gift of families receiving the phone call that changes their entire world and grants their loved one a chance at more time or a second chance. What an honor to know and love a man like Don who made such a selfless choice. I am thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Thank you Don. Because of great people like you, my niece received a liver 7 years ago. She had been born with a diseased liver and was on constant hospital stays from the age of 2 months. She is now 29 years old and living an enjoyable normal life. RIP Don

My husband died of a massive heart attack last December, He was an organ donor, but, they didn't take any of his organs, tissue, or anything. Could it have been because his heart had stopped working and was brain dead? This really bothers me! He died just outside our house! I was taking him to the ER because he was having horrible shooting pain in his right thigh. Our neighbor did chest compressions for about 10 minutes until the paramedics got there, then, they took over. They worked on him for another 10-15 minutes. Then, they took him to the hospital. My sister and I got there about 20 minutes later. (sometimes, slow drivers know exactly when to get in front of you when you need to be somewhere NOW!) The doctor said his brain had been without oxygen for too long and even if they could get his heart started, he'd be brain dead. I told them to let him go. That would not be living if your body is here and no other parts of the body are functioning! A machine making your heart beat, a machine making your lungs breathe, is NOT living! So, I still wonder why not his organs?

Why do we die so fast? Life is gone in the blink of an eye. We as humans aren't even sure Heaven exists. I hope it does, and we see our loved ones again. The older I get, the more doubtful I am.
