Don't be scared of assembling miniatures 

assembling HIPS (poly styrene plastic) miniatures can seem daunting, but don't be scared. I'll show you how simple it can be
make you sure have flush cut nippers (yes a hobby knife will work, but nippers are safer) get hardware store brands, don't over pay for the hobby tax.
get plastic cement (assuming you don't have sensitive reaction to the fumes). glue in a well ventilated area. it's so much cleaner and easier than superglue. revel or Tamiya thin or anything where the main ingredient is acetone or MEK. possibly even 100% acetone nail polish remover and a q tip.
follow the directions to start.
