Snowy walks through the apparently world-famous surfers' beach at Woolacombe Bay much to the amusement of the surfers and tourist...
The South West Coast Path is Britain's longest national trail, measuring 630 miles or a basic 1015km from Minehead to Poole. It follows the island's coastline from Somerset, North Devon, Cornwall, South Devon and Dorset using paths trodden around cliffs and coves by generations of coastguards.
No other stretch of British coastline can hold a candle to this path in terms of scenic splendour, interest, history, heritage, accessibility or extortionate prices for food and accommodation. It's a 630 mile tourist trap of a trail so don't say you have not be warned! :D

Yellow wee wee no good man. Looking out to sea is like, 'water water everywhere but not a drop to drink'. Rain is one trial but unrelenting heat is another thing. I enjoyed the views here Snowy, nice one.

I do love the coast/beach parts of any trail you do. Haha it’s not everyday you see someone like you strolling down the beach in full gear but that gave me a giggle at what others might’ve thought 😂

Very true Lezley it was like a desert! The 20 quid baguette was bad enough but it had nothing on the 16 pounds sterling for a crab sandwich!!! 😲👍😲

Great adventure so far (playing catch up tonight). Some of the campsites along the SWCP are expensive but there again most campsites have hiked their prices up over the last few years

Yeah a lot of these places don't want lone walkers taking up a pitch when they can get a family tent in there and make more money. That's why they asked for such an extortionate price to make up the shortfall. I'll never pay these kind of tossers the money but I met people on trail especially lone women who weren't confident in wild camping by themselves just coughing up the money. 👍🍺

Yes I’m catching up with your adventure Snowy and I’m really enjoying it your telling a great story with your filming and editing. Loving the chat. I know what you mean about milenials but I do feel Liam is worth watching he defies a different sort of guy. Many years ago I did the Isle of Man coastal path and I remember how difficult it was along the sand or stony beaches. Thanks for telling your story Snowy. 👍🙏

That is one good thing about the coastal hikes besides the awesome views, is the access to shops for water, fresh fruit and the occasional beer.

Very true but there are the some places on the SWCP where it's quite remote and with the sun shining fighting dehydration becomes a real struggle. But then again if it was easy I wouldn't want to do this stuff! Thanks for stopping by mate👍🍺🍺😎

So not a cheap trail if camping on sites and eating at the local eateries , but needs must in that heat Snowy. Handy tho having places to stop and refuel 👍 Tarmac hiking isn’t easy on the poor feet especially 23 miles worth 👣

@@snowymatrix so a case of “I’ve started so I will finish” lol it seems these south coastal towns are sooooo expensive I suppose that’s why folk go to the likes of Benidorm 😂😎 and the 1€ pint too .. however the latter not my scene at all but never say never

Yeah, road / bikepath walking sucks, though in fairness to the guidebook it isn't 'hard', just b#$$%y painful! Always a bummer when they convert hiking trails to 'multi use' paths. All for inclusivity, but it usually means the hikers get the roughest deal. But while the Sallys will always be the best boots we'll never be able to wear again, hard surface walking is the one thing where the Keens actually beat them - it was so painful in the Sallys. Still don't like it now but it has gotten a bit easier (or maybe all the other pains now take the sting out of it?🤔😆)

Have they stopped making those Sallys?! Yeah some Nike Air trainers would probably be a better option on tarmac! 👍😁

@@snowymatrix - no, the Sallys are Still going strong, but both of us have developed clown feet with the long hikes, so they are sadly too narrow for us now :-(
