True for RPM, CWB, and to some extent RMD and RGA as well. Even if your players have 12 on the key attributes for those roles, the game still rates it as 1★ if you are lower league side.

Had this happen with Josh Seargent with my Norwich save. Started him as 1star, then few games in shot up to 4

@@Brazio20 I think the most annoying one is IWB.

As your reputation increases how you're played against changes. Your first season in a top league say teams are trying to ram the ball down your throat and you're taking advantage of it on the counter. As your reputation increases they are more cautious and suddenly you can't score anymore. Second season syndrome as a real life idea doesn't exist for nothing.

@@fmscout plus I play on the console so following what you're doing...it's a bit daunting to find some of the information that's readily available on the PC

New players need time to understand and adjust to the tactics you are using, just give them time. You can check how familiar your players are with your tactics through the tactical familiarity bar.

Can have on players morale but usually not too much, also your info card will show that you prefer to send your assistant to press conferences

Player traits, player instructions , and then team instructions is the order.

That's probably the game RNG impacting your performance.

@@andrerodrigues3583 , it's just insane. If it goes well I can play with the under 19's and win easily almost every game. In other saves it's a nightmare..

not really fixed or scripted tho is it….stuff like that happens all the time in real life anyway so it’s reflected in the game.

@@henku340 Happens once in a season. If you savescum that particular game you'd see it would repeat every single time.

@@xDIABOx as a *former* (emphasis on the former) save scummer myself, i can confirm this is not true…even if you do get the same result a few times, there are an extreme number of variables that could cause this to happen

@@xDIABOx not ruling out the possibility that the game is scripted to some extent, I've just never heard a decent argument to suggest that it is. In which case I choose to believe that it isn't scripted or the effects of scripting are negligible

@@henku340 It's really not that hard to understand... I've broke FM22 tactically. I was starting saves left and right, refining a tactic, adapting PI's to players and vice-versa, everything combed through as I did in the previous versions of this game I've been playing since its CM times... after that I would start with a lower level club and implement the tactic and find key players for that tactic. And things work great. But... for example, in PT League, I start with a modest Braga. First game of the season was against FC Porto, a great team. Won, by 2. Then I kept playing and noticed Benfica was winning everything, just like Sporting, while Porto already lost some points. And Porto has a better team than Benfica, Sporting or even Braga. When I play against those two teams, mid-season, I just can't win. Simple. Unless I save-scum a lot of games, which I don't, but I save that particular period of time and then I number-bash, either by changing line-ups, by changing players. And every single game is the same until the break-point is triggered. But in fact, most of them act the same way, since Benfica, Sporting and Porto have a better World Reputation (a stat the FM match engine uses to create results), the engine simply don't let you win. Your team will create chances, have a great xG, either may have goals but they would be either invalidated (lots by offsides) or just reduced to a draw by either a goal in the next minute or a stupid penalty when your team haven't conceded any penalties in the season so far. It's ridiculous and it exists. Then I port the same tactic to a team like Everton or Newcastle, with money and talent, players in the CA of 150 and some, and then I play against Liverpool or against ManUtd (LOL!) and I simply won't win due to that factor. Another curious fact, when I do win against said teams, their impossible-winning-streaks revert back to normal and the teams start to lose some points here and there. But until that happens, those teams will keep winning and winning, even against opponents that stole points from other teams of the same reputation and my own. This was exposed and talked a lot in Reddit, with screenshots and so on... it's not new and we all know this happens.

So you're saying the developers specifically timed the release of fm23 to coincide with your York save and somehow made sure you started winning just so you would buy fm23 at that exact time? If you said it tongue in cheek then fair enough but if you were being serious then I'm sorry I just don't buy that at all mate.

@@Ant_FM My team going from relegation candidates to League and European champions with no tactic or player change whilst every other team collapsed must have been purely down to my FM tactical genius then. Thanks for the props. x

So I just started playing fm last week, completely hooked and addicted I got Leyton orient promoted to league one first season I played then even though I was predicted relegated contenders in the season after I managed to get 4th and win in my playoff final vs Oxford and got them to the championship. Now, the reason why I did so well in that season was because I set up this effective counter attack strategy. I was unbeaten for around 20 games I think. Then, out of nowhere, I started getting destroyed. Lost the form completely and everything was going bad. I then changed the tactic to a more aggressive, direct tiki taka (and got a couple of Chelsea loanees) and I was winning again. Then that died out, and I went back to my original strategy, and ended up finishing strong and managed to get promotion. This made me realise that the game does actually learn your tactics after a while and gets the opposition to set up perfectly for you. So I’m pretty sure that it’s not a myth.

@@nighTmareCSGO if it was mid-season then it might go down to the "winter form" that happens around middle of the season, plus the AI do start to play differently after half a season especially when you over-perform a lot(they would start to treat you as a good team instead of underdog). But yeah, I'm not fully certain about whether the AI really learns your tactics but I'd just always adjust when I lost form, I guess that's always the right thing to do.

@@nighTmareCSGO This is absolutely correct. The AI will fuck you over several times per season. Totally unrealistic. An absolute rort.
