Don't forget that if you do run a healer like natasha or bailu and they have the set that gives you an extra skill point at the start, it helps out a bit if he is paired with skill points chars, atleast at the start.
One trick I found when using Welt was to actually save his Ultimate during multi-turn bosses. Sneaking his ult in immediately after the boss's 'Initial Turn' causes the imprisonment to land before the 'Extra Turn' occurs, skipping that phase and effectively halving the boss's turn count. This trick also works with anything that causes turn delay such as imaginary break, quantum break, and freeze. It really helps prevent damage from everything in the Simulated Universe until the final bosses, who typically have so much Effect Res that it's hard to consistently land imprisonment anymore.
this is a really good tip, I use it all the time, and is why effect hit rate is so important. Units like welt are gonna be excellent for forgotten hall as well. With welt you can forego one of your shielders/healers for more damage and defensive utility. He does surprising amounts of damage for a support character, and his slow is so good combined with his element and ultimate.
Especially for Aurumatons because if you interrupt their sanction mode attack with a freeze from March 7th, it'll basically end their entire sanction mode with them only doing a 1/4 of their attacks, and not imprisoning anybody.

don't sleep on asta with welt guys, they pair so well together its insane the speed buff from asta + attack buff and welts imprison is one hell of a combination.
Asta is also EXTREMLY skill point efficient, at e6 she can basically get all of her utility without using her skill at all (unless you need it for weakness break). Her regular attack both buffs the party & applies a dot. I think she is basically guaranteed to stay relevant for a while.
Yeah IDK why he mentioned she needs to use skill- even without skill if you take her to a fire weak boss she will keep a permanent 15% damage buff on your team.
Fr why poeple sleeping on Asta ;-; Give her Dance Dance Dance, spd+advancement+welt slow+delay is insane, Asta is such a flexible character idk why people rate her so low
One thing I'll say about Asta Welt is that it kinda needs enemies with fire weakness on the field to really be skill efficient. Brax did mention that Asta and Welt do tend to fight for SP to be at their most efficient, and this is true until you remember that Asta's talent gives 2 stacks if she attacks a fire-weak enemy, instead of just 1. So she can reduce the buff decay (or even sustain it perfectly if she's E6) and go SP positive by having her strictly BA said enemy.
Welt To me feels kinda like zhongli In the sense that he isnt exactly needed In any specific team comps Or doesnt have any particularly deep synergy with specific characters but you can throw him into basically any team as A wildcard type character and he Will feel really great To have because of his unique benefits.

If you mean Asta has A similiar role then I guess you can put her In A lot teams too but she feels like she does A lot better In certain teams than others and has A clear Role as the buffer where as Welt is More unique and doesnt exactly fill any one usual role.
Got him from the beginner banner and managed to get Seele. So my game right now is running Preservation MC, Natasha, Seele and Welt. Aside Welt just making the team just ridiculous with Seele's extra turn mechanic and his utility of "NO TURN FOR YOU", it's just ludicrously good at brute forcing practically anything regardless of resistances because if the enemy is weak to imaginary or has a high quantum resistance I just switch the rotation up to Seele being the mainly skill point generator and Welt the main DPS. He just hits so hard.
Wow! I also got Welt from the beginner’s banner and won my 50/50 for Seele. I honestly didn’t want Welt at the time since I heard he wasn’t that good, but I liked him as soon as I started using him… mainly cuz his ult looks awesome ngl 😂 Although I use Seele, Asta, Welt, and Natasha. I barely take any damage since both Asta and Welt are saying “NO TURN FOR U” and Seele’s extra turn is just 🤌🏾
Got him in my beginner banner as well, and his light cone immediately after on my first standard pull. Running him with seele, natasha, and tingyun. Tingyun just buffs whoever the enemy has weakness to. No need for defense against dead enemies lmao
I got Welt in the Departure banner myself, and I couldn’t have been happier unless I had gotten Bronya instead. He’s an insane unit, and I’m more than glad I got him. I really should invest more into Daddy of Logic, though.
This is basically my main team comp right. The turn economy you got from this team alone is insane. And currently not many enemy resist slow debuff, unlike frozen.
Honestly I don’t care if Bronya or anybody else is better, he’s such a comfort character. Like an old dad who helps everyone. I love him so much, I hope I get him soon! Otherwise, I’ll get him in the standard banner after 300 wishes :)
Yeah alot of people that play for 1 month think like you, but people that don't want to fck his acc and play long time should focus on what chars are a need. Like healers and buffers
@@NightAncez Yeah escept for the fact that this game is a month old so new characters may prove to do significantly more than older ones. So far every character has a utility that needs to be used. Characters like bronya arent even the be all end all
All and all I think what makes Welt one of the best units (even better than I think many realize) is his versatility. He fits into nearly every comp, his enemy slowdown is universally good, and he does crazy amount of damage, to the point that it feels like he is competing with dedicated damage dealers. There is just not a team comp or character in this game that Welt does not pair well with. I think as time goes on too he is only going to become more valuable with newer characters.
The ONLY characters he won't synergize with are the ones that are built mainly on their counters, and right now Clara is the only one. Even then, her ult at least draws enemy fire to herself, away from Welt, when they do get to attack your team.
And for once a hybrid that isn't trash Alot of games from any kind of genre, esp from HYV don't really do too well with balancing hybrid scaling / utility char It ends up becoming mediocre on all ends, even the specialty they are marketed for So its good that Welt is still strong, but not too overpowered that it reflects nicely gameplay to lore on his strength but holding back Tho with story wise, with the lack of honkai energy due to the Hi3rd incident, how long could he last maintaining this level of power, he basically has a limited amount of power while vastly strong, is still at the end a limit
It’s even better as there are a bunch of vids on a “lore accurate Welt.” Granted, those vids take place mostly in SU with Destruction, but lore accurate would also refer to building him as a primary DPS.
I was not thrilled to get him on the beginner banner because I had no clue what he did but I stuck with him because I didn't want to reroll and I am so glad I did. Enemies don't even get to play when I use him, it's amazing

Well in the Honaki impact 3 game he returns there that’s his original universe and from what I remember has an adopted son in the future of that game he prolly tells them about his journey
I got lucky to get Welt from standard and for some time i had an impression that people severely underestimate him, having genshin flashbacks in meantime. Right now in early/mid game we don't have resources to build many units, so we're forced into hypercarry playstyles, but once we get to endgame i can already see how much more valuable will characters combining personal damage and utility become for more synergystic teams P.s "Is it my turn yet?" (c) enemy, probably
He has been sorely underestimated. I can only assume people have no idea how much damage he does. He can basically fill the role of an aoe dmg char while also debuffing.
I honestly have no idea how I would get through the Xianzhou deer fight without Welt. Man carried me 100%. I feel like hoyo learned a lesson from the Diluc situation in Genshin and gave basically all standard 5* in HSR both damage _and_ utility capabilities (except I guess Himeko, and she already is getting the same dismissive treatment Diluc does)
Great video! I was waiting for this before I started farming for my Welt's artifacts as I wasnt sure what to prioritize. I have used him with Bronya and yeah, it is completely ridiculous. I'm sure he will get even better with more character releases and new team options.
More imaginary Units like the new 4* dropping & then you add in Silver Wolf + her Lightcone SW also has the passive, or Skill, to have a 25% Chance (per Element) Unit in Team to force a 20% [Insert Element] Reduction to ALL enemies. So 2 Imaginary Units with Welt and new 4* will be 50* chance of cucking Imaginary Defenses. Then you add Belobog Bronya as a Hyper Carry Support and well... shit that's gonna be gg by then.

One DPS character he pairs really well with is Sushang, because against toughness broken enemies, her skill refunds you a skill point. This means that as long as enemies are toughness broken, she's skill point neutral, which means you can have Welt AND Sushang spam their skills all the time, have two other characters mostly spam basic attacks, and go skill point positive when enemies are toughness broken and gradually consume skill points when they're not.

The most broken combo is Asta on the Dance! Dance! Dance! lightcone with Welt in my opinion. You can have so many turns with the combo though I don't own the lightcone... Nonetheless, I think Asta should be mentioned because she's one of the most underrated supports right now! She can give speed buffs and your welt can just run full damage and have huge attack buffs along with a free DoT on basic attack, perfect pairing for Welt I'd say. The lightcone just makes your whole team become a speed demon in the turn order, don't sleep on it
Welt + Asta + Tingyun is so crazy. Tons of speed up and speed down. Ult recharge every so often for Welt to spam even more, and if you have 2 copies of the LC it just never ends. The day we get a Harmony character to restore team energy its over.
@@gss0097 Oh for sure but the point of the team is to make the enemy have no turns at all lol. Although now that I'm doing later content I can see that Welt really needs the effect hit rate stat to reliably apply his debuff, and even then some bosses just have too much resistance :(

Exactly! Plus The way his voices rises and dips makes him sound like some sort of weird newscaster. Plus brax is queer (at least I think he is after what he said about Welt punishing him in this video) so that's fun representation.
Been running Welt on a team with Seele, Bronya, and Natasha. In this set up, Bronya becomes mostly a support unit versus a hyper carry support, using Basic ATK most turns just to build up her ult as soon as possible and build up skill points (running Meshing Cogs on her just for the energy gain) while Seele and Welt eat up skill points, with Natasha also just being a support point generator unless needed for heals/cleanse. That said, if you need to pivot to using Bronya's skill to maybe move forward a unit to kill the last enemy or the enemy who's turn is coming up, then you can do so and then just basic attack next time with the other character.
I personally really like bronya and welt as he always plays before her therefore can trigger his skill 2 times in a row producing a lot of energy. Also including peela seems a really good idea with fire mc.
Great guide! I agree with you with the asta and welt team lmao. Have been using that since I got welt. I have played summoners war back then and there I learned that mobility is crucial in turn based game. Those mobility teams are metas especially in PVE

the (kind of) ironic thing with him is that he's nihility but he doesn't do well with DoT's since you're actually not letting enemies taking their turn and, in turn, they cannot take the dot
I got c2 Welt and in the beginning i was ''wtf is happening'' cause i wanted other Chars... but after a bit,building him and leveling, i changed literally my mind. He's legit so strong for being a ''Damage support'' and after watching this video i'm gona build him better. Thanks for the vid!
Originally watched this because welt was first five star, and returned just to say he's still my only standard banner five star every fifty I lost was to welt every standard pull resulted in welt. Here I am I with e4 welt and signature lightcone. He decided to be my main I didn't lmao Update: not even a full day later I pulled another welt on standard with simulated universe reset ticket. I'm convinced my standard banner only has welts you can't make this up that's six welts everyone else is hiding from me.
To be fair I'm incredibly lucky on special wishes e1 seele, silver wolf , and Kafka are on my account but every standard banner 5 is welt and every lost 50 is welt. He says f y'all I'm the main protagonist

I think looking at nihility characters' eidolons and traces, they are meant to be sub-dps units who provide value through debuffs. As we get further into late game and people get better relics, i think we will see this play out more.
I rolled Welt after getting Clara and felt bummed out because i assumed they couldn't work on the same team because they have anti-synergy, especially when those were my only two 5* characters after like 250 pulls, so i was super surprised to see you reccommend that combo
I have Bronya and Seele and I still went pity to Welt and have been using him more. Love him. Welt + Asta + Rememberance is silly. Also blessed Hosoya voice lines. 😊
I love paring him with bronya despite both of them being skill point hungry. I built bronya to deal decent amounts of damage as well as increasing allies actions forward. Tying her with Welt does a really good job of having every other cycle being a massive damage bomb. Having Natasha on there gives leeway for sp regen. :) Edit! With the events of Luocha coming out, you can have the team comp of Luocha, Welt, Bronya, and Shampoo. Imaginary wind team is great against Kafka in su!
Yeah Tingyun is the best pair for Welt. She can generate so much skill points since she only needs to ever use skill points when the Benediction wears off. Not to mention her ult makes him a Super Welt.
i would actually suggest sushang is also a good team synergy for welt as she gains back her skill point whenever an enemy is weakness broken and welt breaks weakness quite often
honestly I was VERY happy to get him on standard just because he’s the only imaginary atm. Unfortunately I got him right before Jing Yuan and Tingyun so I’m focusing on them first, but man I’m very excited to use him on some teams
Absolutely same. I got him from the beginner banner amd was uninterested in his design. Didn't even want to level him. But after I saw some people say he was good, I tried him out and now he's my dad lol. Such a fun character
Not gonna lie, with Kafka coming, I'm convinced that he is very powerful with her, as it allows Kafka more turns to proc their DoTs even when enemies do not have as much turns to attack (Damage over time takes effect/procs when enemies take their turns before they attack). Also, just learned that Pela is a Nihility character. A surprise, sure, but a welcome one. Man, if I could get myself a Kafka, Sampo, Welt, and Pela/Healer team, it's the ultimate Nihility team.

I actually rarely use Natasha's skill anymore. Fire trailblazer just mitigates sooo much damage that I just keep her for her ult as an emergency heal and (at e6) her attack hits decently hard.
Luocha being an insanely SP positive healer works so well with Welt. Welt Luocha Seele is a good team, 4th slot being flexible - SW/Tingyun can both be SP+ which is what you need in a team like this.
Clarie's a character that not only you don't run her with immobilizing enemies by characters, but you also don't match her with any teammate that has corresponding weakness type, 'cause you know, broken enemies can't attack which prevents Clarie from counter attacking xd
I had my phys MC on that cone (S5) all the way till Preservation path became an option. Damage was very high and I never once had an itch to switch to any other cone. 3* cones are pretty fun when you meet their win condition.
I run Fire MC, Welt, Asta and March and I've cleared all of the sim worlds and even on difficulty 2 without abundance or healing, and with all the other paths. March and Welt keep the enemy frozen/imprisoned and Asta gives speed boost. It's kinda crazy, I've done entire boss phases with the boss only acting once.
Sampo is really fun to pair up with Welt, you have many turns to apply DoTs (cause of the slow) and if the enemy gets a turn, it may die at the start of it's turn

an extremely good damage dealer to pair with Welt is Sushang, if you are lucky enough to have gotten her to E1, she is extremely SP sufficient with enormous damage output.

I beat world 4 for the first time using the hunt path with welt even if svarog isnt weak to imaginary. Using welt is so satisfying against single enemies
Arlan's not a bad option for a strong DPS to go with Welt. He doesn't really generate skill points, but he doesn't use them up either. Unlike other characters, his skill doesn't use any skill points. It drains 15% of his HP instead, but that can be covered with a Preservation character like March 7th. ^^
I been using Seele with Welt, Tingyun and Natasha and it's been really fun so far, skill point heavy for 1 round but Tingyun only has to use her skill on Seele every 2 turns so it evens out most of the time for me
