I can see that, but you have to hit the start button once you get inside so it knows you are there, if you are starting it with the doors off I would think you'd be close by too!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Yes and it senses the key in your pocket as well when one clicks the start button, so the owner of the key has to be sitting in the car.
I'm a firefighter, and I've responded to emergencies in which someone was moving their vehicle with the door open, fell out of the vehicle and were then run over by their own vehicle. Seems like this could be a safety feature. Just my opinion 🤷
That is a crazy incident to see, but yeah I could see that being a safety feature. I use trucks to back up to trailers a lot for some work and it's quicker to leave the door open, but I'm going 1 mph if that. Just something different I haven't seen on a vehicle before.
For me what's most troubling is when water drips all over the place when it rains upon opening the door, that would drive me up a wall! Be careful because that could cause mold and mildew and I'm sure you wouldn't want that. So unless you're out of town I guess the solution would be to drive the Tacoma if would be raining all day.
It's only a little bit of water so that wouldn't be a major concerns! with the all weather floor mats, it dries up too! And that's a good idea to take the tacoma!
Doesnt change with Jeep did from factory, but get a tazer JL to take care of your auto park issue and you can disable start stop (maybe it takes care of the remote starting with the doors off too?) Soft top has the same water leaking issue.
I also hate the fact that the door has to be closed to move. I often (in my 2017 JKU) had my driver door open while pulling people out of the snow or mud it would be nice if that could be disabled in my 2020 JLU..
I totally agree! I'm so use to moving my Tacoma with the door open, backing up to trailers or just moving in the driveway, it's pretty annoying on the Wrangler. Plus you can't even move the Jeep without starting it up. I've done that too if I needed to move a few feet, not worth starting it up sometimes.
I agree with the leaking water. I have that issue as well. For the most part i wash my jeep at home & dry it afterwards. So it’s really only an issue when it rains. Remote start is an option & doesn’t come standard. I don’t have it :( I will get an alarm w/remote start installed though. I live in Texas and need that a/c on before I enter the vehicle, esp in the summer. One issue I have & see others have as well is creaking noises. I always hear them in the back. Still trying to locate where it’s coming from.
Yea the water is really only annoying during the rain, but not bad, and I didn't realize you could have one without remote start, I've only seen them with it! I don't hear many creaking noises, but some noises being the top isn't insulated lol
lol I rented a Jeep for a weekend just to try before buy and the door closing while open before 12” was kind of annoying - has an amazing amount of pull at that close range.
My wife and I just tried out a new Jeep Wrangler the other day. They are way overpriced I.M.O. Then there’s the poor ride quality. Seats weren’t very comfortable. Sahara limited with no power seats at over 55 thousand. The list goes on. I own a Trd Pro 4RUNNER and I don’t see how people compare them. I’m mean they are still cool with being able to remove top, doors etc. I owned a 1993 soft top with half doors that I liked better than the new one.
They are expensive for sure, but hold their value really well too! Which wrangler did you drive? I think the ride is fine, I don't have any major complaints with it. It's just that Jeep life lol, I'm starting to like it more than my Tacoma and I'm on my second one!
My friends rented a Jeep Wrangler once and fell in love. Thank you for sharing your experience! They really wanted to buy one, but Fiat-Chrysler transmission/engine reliability always had us concerned.
For the auto start stop, I believe there are two blue toggle switches under your hood which are on when the hood is closed. The one furthest towards the driver side of the vehicle controls the auto start stop feature. If you unplug that switch, the auto start stop will be disabled for good. The only downside is, the auto start stop logo will appear on your center screen but its in the top right corner out of the way. Nice video man! I have a 2013 2 door and can definitely relate on a few of these. The rain pouring off thd freedom panels is one of them! I also have a leak in the passenger door but that is common with JKs. The tailgate issue is annoying too, especially with my bike rack, even with the rack folded out of the way i cannot open the tailgate enough to get my glass up. Little annoyances that everyone including myself dismiss with, "it's a Jeep". Still a super fun vehicle.
Haha yeah, even with some of these issues it has been so much fun! Taking the doors off is my favorite part so I can't wait to have some more adventures with it!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed 100 percent. Taking the doors off and the freedom panels off :). And i think Wranglers are vehicles for people who are willing to do some wrenching here and there, do some of their own work, etc.
Picture it! You’re about to leave the house for a doors off night out in your beautiful Jeep Wrangler. You just have to brush your teeth real quick so you go ahead and remote start that beautiful thing. Simultaneously, a Jeepless stranger walking by sees the stunning, shiny (and running) Jeep and thinks to him or herself, “Man! I’d love one of those.” Then they think, “Hmm... this one’s ready and running for me, and there are no locked doors to hinder my entry. I can just hop my ass right in and head out. No key needed until I get to where I’m going. And by then...I’ll be where I need to be. Thank you Jeep fairy no-door remote start gods. This is just what I needed right now!” Off the top of head I’m thinking THAT could be one reason remote start doesn’t work with the doors off. 😂😉☺️ But who knows. LOL! PS: love your channel. I really do.
Good point, but.... when you do the remote start with the doors on, you cannot put the vehicle into drive. It's locked out until you tap the start button with the key fob now inside. So that would happen even if someone else hopped in the Jeep when its idling after the remote start lol. Glad you're enjoying the videos!
Nice review! That roof channel issue would really drive me crazy. I wonder if putting a dab of black silicone to dam the front and direct it toward the rear would help any. I think I've seen drip rail extensions that go down the a pillar too if you didnt want to try the silicone
Hey Mike, never been a big fan of the jeep I understand their appeal though. Won’t remote start with the doors off doesn’t make much sense to me and won’t move with the door open I back my truck and trailer into my garage every day from time to time the sun is such that I need to open the door to see wondering if any of that can be turned on or off in the settings of the vehicle A lot of time it’s not obvious and can be buried in the Multiple pages of settings. My buddy worked at a jeep dealership it was a jeep and a Honda dealership he said going from one side to the other was like the scene in the Wizard of Oz going from black-and-white to technicolor The horror stories he told me I’ll just give you one example the Honda side 11% of what they did was warranty work things that are not supposed to break that’s why their warranty. The jeep side 79% was warranty work they actually stocked complete engines and transmissions. I hope the jeep works out for you hoping you’re planning on getting a bronco in the future as I think you would enjoy that much more but until then I’ll be happy to watch the videos on the jeep stay safe🇺🇸👍
Yeah new it's cary to pay $60k for one of these! But monthly payment will be bases on how much down. So you could have a $100 payment if you put enough down lol
And one more thing i am really annoying is. You know the screen in middle. When you start up ready to go. It kept pop up warning. Rules like please be safely and watch the rd like what the fuck. I dont like that. It doe that everyday that really annoying me. Some else like you said i agreed. I still love my new jeep jist bought it same one you got perfect same! Your 2018 my is 2021 brandnew. All seems same problems you have. Nothing changed or better. All same. I am ok with it just have to get used to it. Play with it only annoying me most is that screen all rules warning. Feel like it tell me what to do lol. That really annoying me. I paided 62k for this jeep. I didnt paided for that damn warning safely blah blah all that shits. I am gonna back to dealer see what they can do about it maybe change the screen. Without those warning which i do not need to be fucking reminds again again again. Cant imaging they install damn police on video next in future? Bitching at you watch where you going wear belts blah all that shits? Check your brealth? Lol. Hell no. You know? However. Nice jeep!
I've never had that message on the screens! The center infotainment screen has a short one, but it goes away very quickly. The Jeep is a fun vehicle for sure, I wouldn't buy a brand new one though, they are crazy expensive, but it's been fun!
