I have a similar setup, 315/75/17 tires and similar lift - have been through multiple oem inner boots on oem cv’s. Finally upgraded to the extended inner boots, hopefully they last. Awesome truck man!
I installed the trakmotive extreme travel cv axles and they have been amazing.. highly recommended if you're lifted. I stopped ripping boots after that as the trakmotive extends as the control arm droops
Same here I got some had em on for 5 years and I go to the Rubicon, idk bud if they sending u defective ones :( but these extended travel ones are kick ass!
I'm guessing your truck is raised up, that's the problem. raising or lowering a vehicle with CV axles changes the angle and the greater the angle the more stress it puts on the CV axle. the larger overall tire diameter doesn't help either..
Those oem ones are gonna rip as well just fyi unless you rebooted them with extended boots. Almost two years with my napa extended ones with a few moderate off road trails and have performed great.
Saw you unbolted the ball joint from the spindle instead of the single lower ball joint nut.. much easier doing it that way! Will remember that next time
