Add a slide that puts you over stock cost and an FCU that gets you well above stock cost.” Man, I don’t know if you aren’t having the same kind of issues I am with the economy but that’s a hard nah. I got a Macro for under $800 and did a trigger spring kit all in for $160 and it’s a friggin tack driver.

I got a Macro for 720 yesterday and my first 9 shots were a ~2 inch group at about 10 yards. Phenomenal gun for its size out of the box, nothing wrong with it.

My FFL buddy hooked my up and I got the macro at cost. Most of us aren't RU-vidrs that can build a custom gun like that or even spend that much without it really putting us in the red. Price to performance...macro wins.

As stated, most people look for the most bang for your buck. The 365 x macro out of the box is pretty phenomenal. With the upgrades, it increases the cost a good amount. A lot of people won't be able to justify that kind of money, especially with the operation of the X macro out of the box. Otherwise, great video!

I paid $799 for my Macro His build: Slide $399 FCU $300 ish Icarus Grip (if in stock) $300 That’s a grand and you still don’t have the internals, mag release and optic. Idk if the slide comes with back up sights

@@oceaser6977 I just brought a tac ops xmacro for $700 (just a straight upgrade over the regular xmacro including the mag well/mag release) and it comes with 4 mags (which you can sell for extra cash if you need it more than the extra mags) and yeah with an icarus Grip that's pushing it to 1k ish personally would rather have the longer barrel of the tac ops xmacro than the internal compensator of the xmacro comp/xl which his slide upgrade wouldn't work for

I’ve tried multiple of the new hotness micro 9 pistols including the Macro. Traded them all away. I tried a shadow systems foundation mr920 and couldn’t be happier. Fits my hand better and shoots better for me. YMMV but I’m glad I got it.

Hmm maybe the Macro isn't even close to a "micro 9 pistol". Makes me question when you "tried" and obviously didn't "buy or purchase" which makes your "traded them all away" line all the more hilarious. If this was a true micro 9 pistol but held 17+1 it would be the best innovation ever.

Own the original p365 got it early on when it came out. Bought the xmacro when it came out. Love them both. But when it comes to speaking about what works for you and what works for other people it all comes down to personal preference. Xmacro fits my hands extremely well. I shoot it well with iron sights. I don't have huge hands but I don't have small hands. The p365 with a 12 round mag fit well but was still slightly too small. To anyone seeking to purchase a fire arm. Go to a shop, hold them, dry fire with them, then make your decision. What works for this guy and what works for you isn't always gonna be the same thing.

Agreed. I also bought the original p365 years ago. I recently added the Wilson combat XL grip module (it will fit original p365 slide and FCU) and a 15 round mag and now it's perfect. Was just a $100 upgrade for new mag and grip

Just bought my first firearm, the X-Macro, this past Wednesday. I watched a lot of videos on it and waited a few months for it to get in stock at my local gun dealer. Haven't had the chance to fire it yet but I like how it feels in my hand. Not sure how to use the sights on it and deciding what green dot to get. Mine came with a tool that helps you STUFF the mag to 17. I only got to about 14 with my fingers before I couldn't get any more in. I loved this video, and you just earned my sub! I will be looking at your parts list and see about building what you have. Can't wait to go to the range next week and get to practicing. Thanks for the content!

I got mine on Friday and had the same experience as you, my mags were a little less rough I was able to hand load them until around 16 and that last round requires the loader for me. Good of them to include that at least. I just love how it feels in my hand, I can't gush enough about the feel of this gun. It makes me want to just carry it around in my hand all day. I put over 100 rounds through it yesterday, all kinds of ammo from 15 year old FMJ to 146g hornandy and speer, it all shot perfect without a single malfunction. Very happy with my purchase.

Your take on the 17 rd mags is so accurate, my first time loading one up i got a blood blister trying to get rds 16 & 17. It got a little easier after a trip to the range but still one of the hardest mags to load to full capacity.

I also have the Tactical Trigger! FYI, the Tactical Trigger kit w/ the Sig Sauer P365 Adjustable Short Stroke Flat Trigger, it becomes an absolute dream to fire! The trigger is so short and at 4lbs. Unless you use lighter springs of course!

Only the Tactical Triggers: Sig Sauer P365® Trigger Kit will reduce the weight of your trigger. And, they're not sold together, so you can buy just the Short Stroke Trigger from MCarbo and skip the Tactical Triggers Kit. It's DEFINITELY worth it in my opinion.

I have a 365 for concealed carry and at any distance that would be considered self defense I can put 90%+ of my shots on a plain paper target shooting rapid fire. Feeding it cheap range ammo it has been 100% reliable.

Own the p365x and couldn't shoot very well with it bc of bigger hands. I wanted the xmacro but couldn't justify the price for one. I decided to get the xmacro frame, slapped my 365x FCU into the grip module and cut off a little less than a half inch of the end of the pic rail and slid my 365 slide on, and boom. I shoot way better with it, have better accuracy, still fits in my pockets and it looks factory. My cheap and easy xmacro combination!

3 months later and mags are still scarce lol. I ended up putting my 365 slide on a Macro frame and lopping the overhang of the frame off to make it a flush fit. Works great! Currently waiting on mags from my local FFL which is the only place that has been able to get them.

I have this exact set up. Love it. And the tier 1 holster works perfectly. I’ve realized the Fdez slide stays cooler. I think it’s because of the slide vents Or maybe because it’s winter. Lol Excellent content. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for clarifying, that the accuracy problem was you and not the gun, as I have a large hand and originally had the regular 365, and thought it was small for my hand i kept a 2" group at 25 ft. Looks like most comments are people loving their x macros. Well, I'm gonna be one of those people. Just grabbed one around $700. Out of the box it's pretty great. Your efforts to keep it on target are really minimal. Sure a big gun is easier to handle in some cases but I have to carry mine up to 12 hours a day and I appreciate the smaller size. IMHO I don't think the p365x macros sacrifices any performance given its smaller frame. Thanks for the video

After firing the 9mm Hellcat, S&W M&P, the Glock 43, and the X Macro, I went with the Sig Sauer P365 X Macro and it feels great in my hand and the kick was comparable to the Glock. The M2.0 garbage IMO as the muzzle flare has far more recoil. You would need the thumb ledge with that kickback.

I guess to each their own. I’ve owned and carried a lot of 9’s over the years. For micro / subcompact class this Macro is my overall favorite. The moment I held in my grip it was a perfect fit. I had no problems getting 17 rounds in both mags, and my first 150 rounds went flawlessly. Absolute tack driver. The recoil is so unnoticeable that our range master came up and warned me about rapid firing. I didn’t even realize I was rapid firing. I was just squeezing the trigger as soon as I had sight alignment. The xray sights are still great for me. Loved them on my p365 OG and love them here. I’m all for someone wanting to customize their gun, but to me Sig Sauer hit a home run with this pistol.

If at all possible, find a new range. Go to all length necessary to have another place to shoot. I refuse to shoot at a range with a range master and the ones here don’t even care about rapid fire, I just can’t stand a useless range master.

@@Critical-Defense Trust me I would. But I’m in a relatively small city (less than 100K) with one indoor range. To be honest its an absolute dump of a range. They won’t invest in modern equipment, ventilation, better lighting etc because they have zero competition. They opened in 1994 and the range is basically the same as it was back then. Ventilation consists of them opening a side door for anyone to walk in and a floor fan. Makes winter shooting miserably cold.

My mags for the X Macro took about 2 full mags shot before they loosened up. Force 17 in there and the spring will quickly break in. Really surprised you’re still having trouble after 500 rounds through 2 magazines

i feel like with regular tlr7 and this icarus grip the holster gonna be as thick as with p320 and you won't benefit from p365 width and just might wanna carry p320 instead which is more comfortable to shoot

Video is spot-on. Love my Icarus 365XL, early adopter shooting a gen 1 lower almost 3 years now. Best upgrade ever! Brilliant design & attention to detail. I still get envy every time they roll out a newer version; as much as I love my OG I'll probably build another on the Icarus X-Macro lower & Sig FCU soon. My EDC, had trouble finding holsters at the time, Mike at Black Label Holsters was awesome. Built a custom Kydex AIWB rig for my light at off-the-shelf price (~$60 I think...it's been awhile), great service - I told them what I wanted and they nailed it. I've been wearing it daily for >2 years now and it's still flawless.

You are so funny. it's a great P65 if you change everything on it and make it a completely different pistol! I really like your videos they allow me to see things that I normally wouldn't get to see. As for me this all seems superfluous. It's a carry pistol. I don't need a compensator, I don't need angel wings. somewhere between 10 and 15 rounds is enough. it gets heavy when you carry a lot rounds in your pistol. Not quite sure why you'd want to turn plastic into metal plastic's better for this philosophy. Trigger upgrades seem kind of interesting though....

I put a Wilson Combat XL Grip Module on my 365 and really like it. and it can use the Macro Mags. Std magazines are usable with the WC Baseplates which are nicely finished to match the Grip.

Anytime you add alot of accessories on your EDC can make big trouble. If you think these upgrades can not be used against you-with reference to prosecution think again. I have talked to lawyers "In the know" when it comes to defending a CCW holder. Any upgrades-including a light can cause problems for you.

I use a Macro slide on a Wilson combat standard p365 grip. I don’t run a pistol light on it so I cut in and stippled a gas pedal on the left rail section. Helped out a lot with recoil

Get a p365 slide and a pmm comp, that would be totally awesome. Other RU-vidrs say that works better. My 2 cents worth, the macro comp is more like a muzzle brake and the pmm is a REAL comp.

Bought the Icarus precision lower for my XL as soon as they came out . F that comp . Does very little don’t be fooled by that sale pitch . It a 9 mm not a 44 mag besides comps do nothing unless two main factors are involved length of the barrel, and the comp being attached to the barrel. Fact . The @icarus lower is made of 7075 aluminum that reduces the recoil, nothing else reduce the recoil on the gun . Thanks for the video would like to try that trigger , Would need a video to change up the trigger system..

I use T1C for my P320 Icarus Precision Socom full sized frame just fine. I have a different takedown lever that is a half way gas pedal, forget the name of the armory that made it. Either way, fits fine in the appendix rig with a tlr7A.

Excellent vid.. one good thing to consider. If you already know your going to build a custom P365, just buy the P365 FCU (fire control unit), which is the serialized part of the P365. This goes for the Sig P320 as well. Anywho, buy the FCU, then you can buy the grip frame, slide, barrel, etc, of your choosing for a fully custom P320/365. Makes good sense.. unless you just want the OEM P320/365, then build off that later down the road. Edit: I see he explained the building around the Sig FCU module in the vid. Maybe I'll finish watching the vid next time. lol

Nope you’re wrong. They are two different fire control units. You’re on the right track tho They both do come out like that so u can swap frames but they’re two separate fix units… I believe it’s because of the thicker frame of the 320 I’ve already looked into it.

But the cheapest sig model, strip out what you do not want and resel. I'm buying a Sig P320 compact for 499 to get me a top and FCU, will sell the frame, and but a a all aluminum frame or something else t build the gun that fits me and my needs. You can find a P320 compact for like 430-499 all day on gun broker.

I’m a govt employee and require guns get inspected before I can carry. So mods on my guns are a big no no unless the local sheriff’s office installs them and they must be made or approved by the guns manufacturer. So the xmacro is what I literally just bought 30 minutes ago. Paid $700 for it plus tax. The xmacro is a phenomenal gun and really wish I could build something like this but it could only be a home defense gun. But for home defense, I’d go right for my ar if the s hits the fan

I like that grip. I did an mcarbo trigger kit on mine. Feels great but doesn't like cheap ammo unfortunately. But works great with the self defense rounds I use.

so im kinda dumb but I didn't realize pistols have 3 different holds for sight picture I figured they were all combat hold. Until this video Ive been shooting like its a combat hold and missed a lot. Good to know, now I think I gotta goto the range tomorrow and figure out which one my M&P shield EZ is. XD

I just picked up an x macro. Have 100 rounds through it and love the way it shoots. One thing tho...I hate the grip texture for IWB carry. I got a 4Brothers holster which is great, but compared to my 43X, grip is longer so it prints more and the grip texture rubs the crap out of my skin, so regular IWB with a tshirt isn't comfortable.

I been really debating on geting the Xmacro. Im mostly interested in the module and 17 rnd mags not really interested in the "comp" aspect but when I add up getting a pre owned p365XL and ordering the upgraded Module and at least 2 mags.. I would end up paying the 800 that the macro is worth. So I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.

Ive got a similar grip/tlr-7 sub with a PMM comp in a QVO tactical holster that was actually made for mischief machine grips. But i think it works great because I believe the retention is on the light, not the actual grip. But i was looking at Tier 1 and TRex appendix carry so i will definitely be looking out for that video. 👍🏻

Only "so important" only if needed. I think most people do this as a hobby. But when it comes down to shooting a bad guy, most of that goes out the window. It just doesn't play that big a role in your survival at that point. But hey, it's all good. Some guys just gotta get a new style brake pedal on their 57 Chevy too!

Yeah that’s interesting, as to me the Marco frame is the most comfortable grip module I’ve ever tried. Over 30 years of shooting Glocks, 10’s of thousands of rounds, and I was never able to get comfortable with the grip.

@@FluffyBunnyArsenal I really like my hellcat. the grip is a good size and thickness, possibly a bit too aggressive texture but that does help control the recoil of that shorter barrel. I really have no complaints though. I put the "shield SMSc" and a "streamlight tlr-7 sub" on it and it works great.

I bought my P365 TacPac and really enjoyed it. Then I tried the Wilson Combat XL frame upgrade...Oh boy did it make a difference. As a smaller framed guy who prints easily, the XL frame fits nicely but the other bits would be a fantastic upgrade path. Great video, thank you.

The modularity of the SIG 320 & P365 make it very hard for them to make new varieties when the owner can buy most, if all, the extras and just add on to get the same "new" gun they release. Love the modularity because of the options it gives the customer!!

I looked into the slide he is recommending way before he covered it, and the problem that I found is that it's a stripped slide that costs nearly as much as a Specter comp slide which comes with internals. If they never release the X Macro slide then I would say the Specter comp slide is the way to go, and not the one shown in this video.

Here is the real question. If you have the 365 or 365xl. Whether the macro or the fdez werx comp slide, is there REALLY a noticeable difference in recoil or how flat the gun shoots with the compensated slide?

So i have the xl and the macro . The macro shoots flatter and softer then the xl the grip feels better and round capacity is obviously superior. I also chronagraphed the xl and the macro with 124g i got 1140 fps for the xl and 1100 fps for the macro . I sold my xl shortly after the 3.1’ barrel vs the 3.7’ barrel is not a lot of velocity difference. Only down fall is macro is louder. Hope this helps .

My original attraction to the P365 was the 16 oz weight, micro size, and 10 round mag. It was revolutionary regarding those aspects. But it had to grow for Sig's sake and to expand the population of users' preferences. . Now at 21 oz there are a lot of options including from other manufacturers. I have several flavors of the 365 and like other micros (P938, Kimber Micro 9 for examples) and they are very handy to take along anywhere, but I far prefer shooting the P320s, especially the AXG and X5 Legion. Let's face it, the smaller/lighter the pistol, the harder it is to consistently shoot it accurately.

I have had zero issues with accuracy with the bone stock macro. Been carrying it exclusively since they came out, and had a dedicated appendix rig from TRex Arms from the start. TRex had a macro holster available before the macro even dropped.

I'm confused. All these "compensated" guns coming out, what's the difference between what manufacturers came out with a decade ago, ported. These are all essentially ported guns and that X Macro is a bastard of the two. I built a Herrington Arms P320 and that is more true to the compensator label.

You can buy the macro grip frame for $79 For folks with xxl hands the larger front to back grip is a great fit. The wider very sharp rail means new holsters. I’d have preferred the original rail and avoided spending more money on holsters. I’ve stopped buying light-lasers. Bulky, expensive, and add complexity. I find Speed Sights to be faster and better than dot sights. Everyone has their usage scenarios and preferences. I find simple is best when SHTF. Tactical Dev now has a macro mag base plate extension.

Amen brother. I bought a stock Macro grip module and had it stippled. I can put an FCU and my XL slide and barrel on it in less than 60 seconds. No lights or dots for me on my carry pistols. I’m still messing with the various permutations of 365’s (five) I can make from the two firearms I actually bought, and love the macro, but frankly not sure the extra weight from the additional rounds and longer grip makes sense for me. I have small hands, live in SW Florida, and the XL seems to be the sweet spot for me.
