@@OliWood89 Since the game is pretty slow with it's written rules on how many souls you collect after clearing dungeons I just doubled the amount given and halved the bonfire sparks

Love these sets, tho I to get the creeping feeling they get more and more simplified. Where is pinwheel? Where is the undead dragon? Why does the upcoming sunless city have ornstein & smough, we already had them in the main board game, yet we do not get other iconic bosses from the Londo area.

I grabbed the tomb set on sale. Both sets seem interesting. I had to go for characters in the end.

But let's see. I got the main box, many expansions over the years including the Guardian Dragon, which is now not available for some reason(same as 4 kings and old iron king. Don't have them but they are not available for some reason) but I got the character box as well, and it feels like that box was not necessary since characters are in these 2 boxes as well

I have the Dark Souls KS Edition including Character-, Phantom-, Iron Keep, Explorers-Expansion. Plus Dark Root and Asylum Demon. So what would be the best option in your opinion? Is there still a need for one of the new core box. Or is it enough to try the new rules, only?

The new core sets are cool. I think its worth getting one. In your case I would go for Painted World as there is more enemy variation and more complex encounters :) cheers!

So now if you have the explores expansion with the mimic. what happens now when you open the chest and get a mimic, do you have to fight it immediately with the other enemies or can you wait till the end of the room to open it and then fight it?

Hello! wish to start the DS board game with buying the DS Sunless City core set. I would like to ask what expansions are align with the DS Sunless City. Are these two align with it?

Hi, yes both of these core sets are compatible. There is full compatibility with the mega boss expansions as well (asylum demon, manus, last giant, guardian dragon, old iron king, 3 kings, kalameet & votdt) Darkroot, Explorers, Iron Keep & Executioners chariot are partially compatible. Cheers!

Hey guys ☺️, is there any hope we get „Old Encounter Cards“ for the New Enemies? I would like to play with the Old Ruleset and I don’t think it works with the new „Encounter Cards“?

Hi, I think they wont bring the new cards to the old system. What you could do is using the enemy configuration of the new cards and if you select one encounter card that has multiple rooms, you choose the one that makes more sense. Note that for some cards the enemy configuration is poor because it relies on the objectives so that will be another set of cards you will have to remove from play. But its all a workaround :) Cheers!

Hi, yes. These are the new “base” sets. You can use the previous expansions but the old encounter cards are not compatible. They are supposed to release updated versions of those cards for download in the forseen future. Cheers!

Sorry if this question has been answered before, but can you just buy one of these two core sets and then buy the expansions without having to get the base game since it is quite expensive?

Hi, yes and no. You could play the expansions but because they dont have the newly updated encounter cards, you would have to use the core set encounter cards and replace the enemies in them for the expansion ones. Boss fights still work. Steamforged is supposed to release updated encounter cards for the old expansions and when thats done, they will be fully compatible. Cheers!

Is the explorer's expansion a good fit for these core sets?

Hi, it is an ok fit for the contents (Darkroot and Iron Keep give more content for the price if you dont have them). But note that up to this time, Steamforged games has not released updated versions of the encounter cards adapted for the core sets. Cheers!

@@TabletopDuo Many thanks I've looked at the orginal for a long time. There is a great offer at 50% off the tomb of giants might take the plunge but have a £10 off voucher if spend 70 so was looking at that expansion to get to it. Many thanks

I won't buy any of the two, because steamforged doesn't deserve it. The game is awful and was a big disappointment even if it was hugely financed. Publishing new core sets and totally ignoring previous one is just a way to make more money by totally ignoring players from the first kickstarter. They didn't even care to publish updated versions of the encounter cards for older expansions. This project is just a mess. A core set for 4 player that only has 3 characters? why? I still have to see a good game from this company that is repeatedly milking all possible IPs they can get the hands on. I think that bloodborne boardgame from CMON is just a clear demonstration that i'm not dreaming the impossible.
