Imagine how unpractical and unsatisfying if it actually used keyboard switches. It would be extremely disadvantageous to play games with it, and incredibly weird to do anything a mouse is supposed to do
Hopefully it inspires someone to create hotswap mouse that works with your GMK set. Thanks for the review I was planning to buy it after seeing it on a RU-vid short video. I was about to pull the trigger on this glad i didn't.
Respectfully I disagree. My copy was purchased from ali express with extra keycaps and a thorough description so I understood what I would receive. I am very pleased with the overall quality, feel, sound and performance of my sample. Personally I do have a small collection of high end mice and none of these have a side scroll function, this would not be a feature I myself would be interested in. I do not recommend this device for gaming use however, I recommend it highly for daily use to anyone that enjoys the aesthetics. Im sorry to hear you had a bad experience all around.
Glad you like yours. It seems that there actually are quite a few people who prefer a mouse wheel that can't tilt and I didn't really consider that when making the video. It was a feature that I assumed everyone liked and expected. But when it comes to the sound and feel of the mouse I can only talk about my unit and I think it's just bad. I'm also not really into mice though, I'm more into keyboards, so maybe I just don't know what is considered a good feeling and sounding mouse.
I love the aesthetics of the mouse and I am a casual gamer. How bad is this mouse for gaming? Some pointers on how it's bad for the gaming would be appreciated.
FYI the AliExpress one is not a copy it's the actual legitimate mouse. This mouse is designed and made in China and owned by shenzen there are a few resellers like drop but just like the earphone company KZ they're primarily sold on their main site or a chinese marketplace
Anyone thinking they can swap these buttons for actual shift keys should go to the back of the class. It should be clear, just on a first glance that this is just a design exercise. Also, if you watch yourself switching dpi you'll notice it requires a deep and long press - which seems sensible [and simple] given where the button is placed. This is not Quantum mechanics. Suggest those posting bad reviews wait until their IQ exceeds that of a paper bag before making a follow up...
Had the opposite experience. First off in terms of aesthetics this is one of the best mice I've ever seen. It works surprisingly well/no latency and the feel (unique satisfying click) is great (I had a finalmouse before this). If you're some hardcore gamer or mouse aficionado maybe this isn't for you. The screen is a great touch. Also, I didn't even know a wheel could tilt right left, is that the norm? Also, there are two stems for stabilization just like in any mechanical keyboard. All in all it's a really fresh looking mouse that works absolutely fine.
Glad you like your mouse. As I said, apparently if you know you're buying people seem to love this mouse. And aesthetically it is gorgeous. I do think that mouse wheels being able to tilt should be the standard though, if it isn't already. And at least on my mouse I can feel the springs and the buttons aren't very stable, and I can only attest to my own personal experience with it.
Almost makes me think I got a different batch. I'm obsessed with it so far. For some random a$$ Chinese brand it's surprisingly revolutionary.@@TrashBuilds
Just came across this review as I was interested in the mouse, and I think complaining about how the scroll wheel doesn't tilt is moronic. I've been using mice with a scroll wheel tilt function for several years and i have yet to find a way to use them at all. I always forget about this feature because there's no action i would ever want to use it for.
Such a womp womp video. Don’t be pissed that you bought a product from a 3rd party and it wasn’t what you expected. This should be a review of Drop, not the mouse.
I'm going to ignore all the bad reviews that I've seen (and the only ones), just because I love the design and it fits perfect to the retro sleeper PC set up that I'm working on xd, and I'll probably only have it for aesthetics and never for real gaming xd
Tilting scroll wheel is just so annoying to use that I actually hate mice that have them. Most of the time it's only for accidentally navigating back and losing your comment/work on the current page.
For 85% of this video I was SO thinking this dude is now complaining about first-world problems, this thing looks AMAZING, he surely must not have a clue of what really matters, poor tormented soul he must be, etc. etc. I even was already at Lofree's website looking to get it with additional keycaps, and get to finally pretend having a perfect life with the perfect body and self-confidence I don't have.. you know the drill. Your video still running in the background in a minimized window, and then, THIS: "...and now, let's get to the worst part and listen how this actually sounds like" - Demolition ball --with an almost nude Miley included-- just wrecking out my innings all thru and thru. There's a reason I watch your vids (if it's of any consolation, pain got effectively spread) 🤡🤟
You're not wrong about me being a tormented soul lol at least you were going to buy it from lofree. Like half the video was about how if you were going to buy it, it should be from there
It's too bad there aren't other mice which use standard keycaps and more importantly use the PBT material and this coloration. But this is a hard pass for literally everyone, it's surprising that DROP carries this thing.
That was an attempt at dry humor lol the joke being how ludicrous it is that I would think they'd even consider sponsoring me after I trashed on a product they're selling
Great video, thanks for the review. Your voice sounds like Jesse Eisenberg From the movie "The Social Network", especially when you said the mouse wheel doesn't even tilt left or right.
Who needs a tilting scroll wheel? Probably the most useless feature in a mice I never used even if it had one, which most mice, including some of the best mice, don't have.
Who cares it's not a mechanical keyboard keycap? I don't even have any mechanical keyboards and never intended to swap or customize anything. Clickbait title and misleading review.
Would this still be recommended for someone who is sort of a complete novice in technical/customization stuff? I was looking into getting this mouse just because I found it cute, I only wanted to make sure there was nothing egregiously bad with it practicality-wise which is how I ended up here. Basically, customization aside: is this mouse good for just casual usage?
Assuming you're fine with a smaller mouse there is no issue with using this mouse casually. All the buttons work and the sensor hasn't messed up on me yet.
@@TrashBuilds Thank you! I will definitely keep in mind that it is a smaller mouse, I have fairly large hands so small mice can be a tad uncomfortable at times.
Some mice can "tilt" side to side, imo it's only somewhat useful some of the time for scrolling horizontally in a browser or bigass spreadsheet. It's somewhat useful, but I sure don't expect it as a standard feature. The only mice I've had that offer that feature are Logitech. It's not a standard thing unless this guy has only ever used Logitech mice lol
Why did you think that normal shift keys would work? Shift keys don't have that kind of angle. If you could put keyboard shift keys it would feel weird. You had unrealistic expectations and didn't do enough research before you bought this. Anywayzzzz. I'll look at the next review vid for valuable input.
Please read this,..the Another Bad issue from this mouse is lagging...the polling rate is still fake polling 500ghz in 3mode....but lag than 90hz from logitech Bluetooth mouse, May be because the mapping of this mouse is very small i mean the X and Y resolution in screenplay, if your mouse smooth in 90hz...that your mouse is good resolution but this mouse is always lagging anywhere on your screen then it very small that i meant. Even thought the design is best retro but bad experience from any issue. Also don't buy it.
I think this is nothing more than nitpicking for the sake of views. I’m gonna be real, who the hell genuinely cares about scroll wheel tilt? As a consumer, I genuinely don’t care for the nitpicking.
I don’t understand, was this review made with the intention of finding people who also are unhappy with having weirdly inaccurate expectations for a mouse with out reading the manufactures website actual description of the mouse?feels very misleading
