At 9:23, this line opened my eyes. Currently, I have finished my college in the Electrical Engineering branch. I started my BTech journey in August 2020 without even knowing how many branches there are and where I can make my career. My college convinced me to choose Electrical Engineering branch. They told me that I could get many opportunities in government services because I come from the SC category. However, I found myself wanting to explore new things. I realized that I was not satisfied with pursuing a career in the core field. So, I started learning coding, DSA, and MERN stack from the 4th semester. Now, I have knowledge about these and a lot of other technologies like Next.js and Docker. Currently, I have two offers from core companies. But I've decided that I won't survive in the core field, so I'm going to decline those offers. Instead, I've started looking for IT jobs

It'll depend upon the student. If he has good skills, then this wouldn't affect him anyway. But for the students who entered in IT with the flow, they might have a tough time if they are not skillful.

Yes bro I also think that many of the people choosing cs and there are less number of students in mechanical hence after some years there will be the shortage of mechanical engineers and the jobs of mechanical engineers are more ... So the conclusion is to take core branches because there are not so much competition ... Am i right ??

"It's easy to move from mechanical, civil, Electrical etc. to IT but Vice-versa isn't going to easy" this is perfect line, every engineer should develop skills according to their interest. Remember power can't be generated by a code, Buildings and Machines can't be constructed by writing a code. Every engineer holds respective responsibilities to make peoples life better and Core engineers also earn good amount of salary (we can also afford IPHONES) provided you have the skills

Bro that's very true. Even though core engineers are initially paid less all the Plant Head Position in Various industries are held by Only CORE ENGINEERS . In Textile Only Textile person is PLANT Head whose salary is more than 1cpa. But given that you have skills and practical knowledge. All Engineers with skills are contributing only the fact is we are glorifying CSE. But the money Core engineers make after senior position is More than anything else.

I disagree with your point about AI/ML replacing human labour because GPT-3 already can write code based on a problem statement just like a mediocre level software developer. DAALE AI can make stunning art in a matter of seconds.. Alpha zero is already Much much much better than humans in chess and Go and humans don't even stand a chance. it is true that ultimately students from all branches learn coding and work in IT company. My friend's parents have studied chemical engineering and are now working in IT sector. Another friend, whose cousin is a mechanical engineer working in IT sector told me that the IT/CSE degree gives more salary. Like if 2 employees are doing the same work, the company pays more to the guy with CSE/IT degree than the other one with some other degree..

He meant to say that choose your branch according to your interest, you can easily switch to IT industry with most of the branches but vice versa isn't true, so if you have very deep interest in any of the core branch choose it and try to find a job which is core in it

@@venu2902 edit =2 semester = 1year = 2 back in 1 semester = waste of entire year i.e year back 1. session = school =May or June and ends in March but in diploma its 1st sem = sep to feb and 2nd march to aug 2. a diploma student have to learn about a lot of things related to civil i.e ur branch and in school u can study eco,bio,physics etc.. or pcm or pcb 3. me= 2nd year 3rd sem =subject a. concrete technology b. geotechnical engineering c. strength of material d. building construction material (bmc) e.survey these are only the theory anc contain 500 marks then in the same sem we have a. lab b. lab d.lab e.lab with 400 marks and a mandatory internship of 100 marks i.e in 6 month = 1 sem(semester)=1 marks and if u want to pass in my state its 600. now u say a student of class 11/12 have 12 months and we have 6 months(1 sem) if any student get (fail)back in 2 subjects his/her year will be destroyed

Bro you are talking practically and i understand the reality so my intention is to make my daughter in cse or IT but her idea is not on cse as you said fresher dont get high salaries like IT so what is future if she takes aerospace which have very less scope in employments i am so confused please help. Bhai agar interest hi nahi hai koi insaan Kam kaisa karega.Lets say ak insaan ko Civil acha lagta hai aur wo CSE bilkul interest nahi aur parents usko kehte hai CS lela 1st a fault wo CSE ko 1 bhoj mathe par lega aur kuch thik se Sikh nahi paye ga aur agr job bhi mili toh koi kaam wo dhang se nahi kaar payega toh kaise wo salary payega achi? Interest matter karta hai bro.Aur sabse bari baat agr tum engineering paar sirf paise kamane ke liye then don't choose engineering there are many other modern fields jisme tume acha khasa Paisa milega Data Science,Stats,ML,etc.
