I remember as a kid when something use to drop on the floor or even outside we use to brush it off and say" God made dirt, dirt dont hurt put it in your mouth and let it work!" Alhamdulillah we werent even Muslim just to show you kids when they "know God" its a beautiful thing...Im Muslim now Alhamdulillah!

People may find this act of sunnah unsafe to perform during the outbreak of several variants of corona.Staying cautious is good.Still we should keep in mind that we won't be infected with corona except by the will of Allah(SWT).

Assalamualaikum, if you meant that the act of licking the fingers after eating is unsafe (during Corona), then I just wanted to clarify that, if a person had corona virus on their fingers, then it already would have gone to their mouth when eating, so licking fingers doesn't change anything. So licking fingers is not any "extra" unsafe as compared to normal eating by hand during the corona outbreak. But yes, we should always clean our hands (especially during Corona) before eating to remove any harmful bacteria/viruses from our hands In Shaa Allah. May Allah protect us and this Ummah from the coronavirus, Ameen

Note- Many of u may feel this unsafe but if we do this indoor, where usually surroundings r clean then it is ok We should pick up the food as soon as it falls, even science says that the more time it is left down, the more germs attack but if we take it within 5 sec, there is no issue ( This is called 5 sec rule, proposed by modern scientists)

I appreciate your comment brother, but just my 2 cents, the 5 second rule was disproved and it is not safe to eat any food if dropped in an environment that is dirty (even if the food stays on the ground for less than 5 seconds).

There I no different between 1 second and 30 seconds. Less sticky foods are safer. The cleanliness of the surface is the most important factor.

If you are looking for a conversation then maybe challenge something that someone already said. The two guys above me were just chilling, talking about 5 second rule. Mashallah when things are unwanted in my home or beyond salvage I put out for the animal Alhumduillah I’m blessed with enough to feed the animals in the cold months. Prophet Muhammad pbuh taught us humility and appreciation ❤️ do not throw your food out if your in cold regions make make shift shelters with plastic totes for the cats which owners do not let in or are lost place your food close by May Allah reward you and I as was the prostitute who used her shoes to provide water to the thirsty dog Inshaallah
