Don't fail your driving test for speeding! 

It’s pretty easy really, you just have to remember a few things, a speed limit of 30mph (in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland) applies to all single and dual carriageways with street lights unless there are signs showing otherwise, if you see street lights (except for on a motorway) then the speed limit is 30mph, if it’s anything different then you will see a speed limit sign and then repeater signs all along the road or if you miss the speed sign then count 6 street lights and then you’ll know the speed, it’ll say 20 if it’s 20mph, if you don’t see any signs after counting 6 street lights then it’s 30mph, counting 6 street lights works on all roads, oh and another thing, no street lights then it’s national speed limit. 🙃

What a great video! I found it so confusing as many roads here go from 30 to 20 to back to 30 and then sometimes up to 40 for a short bit of road, so I've taken to having my sat nav on as it tells me the speed limit. Not much use for the test but helps when you're driving for real.

Regarding the side road tip, something silly is a lot of side roads can have signs for entering a "20 ZONE", even while the main road can still be a "20 LIMIT", so this isn't reliable.

My driving has major room for improving since passing, I'm always slightly above the limit when I'm trying to make progress on a clear road. Should practise hovering below the limits.

Hi Francis, hope you're well mate and thanks for the tips. I was asking my driving instructor this question/topic and she said something about if lamp posts are closer together, than it's a 20mph zone. Does that sound right?

Don’t go too fast on your test but also don’t go too slowly either

Not "floor" but on road or on asphalt. floor is only inside houses f/ buildings floor.

My instructor told me not to drive on busy small roads on 20 speed. Drive up to 11-12 speed . I did same and I failed today in test for his advice.

What is use of speed?

Some cars dashboards tell you the speed limit too. It's a bit cheating, but it's technology - you're allowed to use it so use it. You're probably going to use it once you start driving so it doesn't make you any less of a driver.

Every speed limet get trhu to next intersection. Yes in cies and towns are all 30 mph but and on highway 55 mph . Differend are with trafic sings on near by intersections.
