Tema : Don't Fear The Reaper (Blue Öyster Cult Cover) Álbum : Don't Fear The Reaper EP Artista : Candlemass Género : Doom Metal Sello : High Roller Records Año : 2010
Don't Fear the Reaper is one of my all-time favorite songs. Heard this for the first time on Liquid Metal and fell absolutely in love with the slightly heavier yet slowed down tempo
One of the best out of 3 grade a covers of this badass song the other 2 are wolf's dont fear the reaper cover version and HiM's don't fear the reaper cover version when a song like this gets reborn doom metal style makes you wonder who is gonna top this version of don't fear the reaper
Fan of both bands B.O.C and Candlemass...best cover that could have been done for this song...heaviness, guitars, atmosphere...whole new perspective...whole new world!
LYRICS All our times have come Here but now they're gone Seasons don't fear the reaper Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain, we can be like they are Come on baby, don't fear the reaper Baby take my hand, don't fear the reaper We'll be able to fly, don't fear the reaper Baby I'm your man La, la, la, la, la La, la, la, la, la Valentine is done Here but now they're gone Romeo and Juliet Are together in eternity, Romeo and Juliet 40, 000 men and women everyday, Like Romeo and Juliet 40, 000 men and women everyday, Redefine happiness Another 40, 000 coming everyday, We can be like they are Come on baby, don't fear the reaper Baby take my hand, don't fear the reaper We'll be able to fly, don't fear the reaper Baby I'm your man La, la, la, la, la La, la, la, la, la Love of two is one Here but now they're gone Came the last night of sadness And it was clear she couldn't go on Then the door was open and the wind appeared The candles blew then disappeared The curtains flew then he appeared, saying don't be afraid Come on baby, and she had no fear And she ran to him, then they started to fly They looked backward and said goodby, she had become like they are She had taken his hand, she had become like they are Come on baby, don't fear the reaper
The heaviness of Candlemass is very evident here. A very slow, churning, killer version of the Blue Oyster Cult classic! I like it! Are all of the band members of the Nightfall album (sans Messiah Marcolin) playing on this song?
@@lizardmedia2257 ghost is actually heavily inspired by Candlemass and they've performed side by side with them so maybe you're the degenerate 🤔? Ghost's lead Tobias Forge literally had a hand in House of Doom where Papa Emeritus appeared in the limited extended edition of the song and Papa has performed on stage singing with Candlemass
Sweet.... Been my favorite song since the 70s.. this is a really really good cover.. might change my mind and have this version at my funeral instead of BOC.... Nah.. I am a traditionalist...
Messiah AND Lowe BOTH are excellent vocalists , and each is unique in his own right . What is disturbing is this ..... candlemass sounds superior with either voice . Utterly talented and epic musicians that have stood up to the test of time ! Marcolins vibrato is not forced at all , and Robert has a spookiness in his tonality that only furthers his raw doom style . This cover however would not have been on messiahs bucket list anyway. Sweden and Norway forever rule when it comes to true metal
Not the greatest thing they've ever made, but one thing candlemass has on all their shit is amazing atmosphere and it's pretty obvious that they were a huge inspiration for the band ghost.
a upside down cross is Catholic not satanic peter wanted to be crucified upside as he felt unworth to die the same as jesus. the satanic cross is a regular cross with three loops on the right and left side connected to the bottom of the cross. the crosses are what people see before the devil horns on the skull. its a good song cover either way.
