i just got 2 big tattoos within one month (lower leg and upper arm, entire sides) just now and i made a commitment because of the scheduling + money at the time so i decided just to simply avoid the sun for most of this summer. I will put on 50+fp sunscreen after 6 weeks at least preferably before hitting the sun again. which is far late into august, im fine with that personally but only just this once. however next time i will do my best to avoid summer scheduling. tattoos are sooo expensive!
Literally got one on Canada Day for my birthday bro but I work construction and I fucked it up already from being in the sun better off waiting for the winter
@@BleachExpansionI work construction to bro you need to get a loose Breathable cooling Arm sleeve , pack up some dove soap (unscented bar) And some water bottles that way on your free time you can wash it off and put the sleeve back up and it’ll keep it cool and protected from the sun and it’s breathable so it’s getting plenty of ventilation
That's good wym😂 I cover up in the summer just because one the sun humidity and dangerous UV rays and because I have a gland issue which causes more moisture than normal
I got upper arm tattoo week ago, summer holiday is really only good time for me to get bigger tattoos, at work its really easy for me to expose skin to dirt and sweat. cant wait to get this thing colored at august when next 2 weeks of my summer holiday hits :)
Got my arm sleeves starting in may until now and had NO IDEA about any of this.. I’ve been sweating like a pig wearing long sleeves in Texas heat trying to protect them until they heal.. so far so good
@@Guitarmachine115 I'll be getting a tattoo of Mothra on my leg near my Biollante tattoo. Female kaiju on one leg and in the future male kaiju on the other.
That's a great reminder about the challenges of getting a tattoo in the summer. I guess it's best to wait until the cooler months to avoid complications.
Watching this as I have my tattooed scheduled on July 24th 😂 but I don’t really go out in the sun and when I do I sunscreen and wear those spf sleeves to always be protected 🔥 also I live in Utah so there’s no humidity in a desert haha
I definitely agree with most of these points, aside from sweat being bad for a tattoo. I know everyone’s different but I’ve gotten all my tattoos in the summer (large pieces covering huge chunks of my body) and I work for fedex so I have to wear long sleeves to keep it covered for at least a month while it’s healing. I get SO sweaty in the long sleeves and it’s never affected the tattoo. It is uncomfortable and itchy when you sweat, so that’s something to consider, but as long as you just power through it without scratching and wash it when you’re not gonna be sweating anymore it’ll still heal perfectly fine 👌
I'm getting two roses on my right trap muscle and finishing my inner right wrist tomorrow ( Saturday it's Friday here now 😂) and it's a good thing it's going to rain ☔😄 lmao, this was supposed to get done four to five years ago but it never happened COVID and artist wasn't available for two years, now I'll finally get it done, y'all wish me luck 🦾☝️
I've got a tattoo appointment next week and it's summer and hot here...oh well! I've got kids, I chase after them all day long and last time I got a tattoo we went swimming a couple days after I got my last one and it's totally fine. I wear tons of sunscreen and will wear spf shirt for awhile too. I agree sand would suck.
Got another one yesterday. However, I’m not a summer person, so I generally hibernate in my AC house June thru August. Plus, saves my skin from aging and skin cancer.
I DO NOT tattoo in the summer for these reasons. I will tattoo October, November-April before swimming and sunburn season 😊 and I do sunblock the existing with spf 100.
I live on the Gulf Coast of Texas… basically you’re saying it’s never a good idea for us here to get tattooed 😂 always hot, always humid, and we live near the beach. I just got the 2nd of 3 sessions on a big rib piece
Edited: I’ve started this past 4/20 to get tattoos on my right forearm and just got 3 small tattoos on the bottom wrist towards the hand along with Vegeta meditating below Majin Vegeta on the inner forearm 3 weeks ago as of this Saturday. The Vegeta took 4 hours and took it like a champ(including the ditch, no lie).
Question related to sun exposure. Time matters, correct? Having a tattoo out in the sun for a long period of time is going to be more detrimental than having a tattoo out for 5 minutes I would assume
I Just gotta a tattoo in Naples Itatly. my tattoow as fine. i got a tattoo on my inner bicep. dont be dumb just cover the tattoo. my oversided tee covered the tattoo fine while i explored naples. tattoo is healing nice started peeling day 3. Also depends how healthy you are and diet. i eat a strict healthy diet hence the quick healing process. you are what you eat.
I live in Israel, I agree, I have like 3 months of period I can get tattooed, otherwise it's save time and long sleeves and uv sleeves all the time outdoor
Been getting my sleeve done since February. Had the second part done in June and luckily not getting the next session until October. The summer is not the greatest time for new tattoos for sure
Homie of mine got a tattoo and went on a skate trip during the heat wave right after. I looked ay it was like duuud!!!!! He s like i need to put lotion on it it was raised and furry he was spooked. Cause im like dude you cant direct sunlight it directly after you get it. Its all greyyed and looks 7 yrs old. I got a bunch i put sun scrrenn on some. Alwayss 100 prf lol. Ive wanted one since i got it but ive also considered the sun because i got all the time in the world to let the sun hit em
At age 70, I'm getting my first tattoo next month, a small one on my hand. I don't expose myself to direct sun anymore so I'm not worried about sun exposure. I do however walk in a pool for exercise. Can I wear a nitrile glove on the affected hand when I'm in the pool while it is healing?
I recently found your video’s and really appreciate all the info. My second of two sessions for a half sleeve rework is on Aug 23rd. Heading to Cancun Sept 28th. Is that enough time to allow outdoor activities? Drinking, swimming, golf, drinking? And can I wear a second skin product to go in a pool or ocean after healing for 5 weeks? I always wear a spf 60 kids sunscreen. Cheers
I live in florida where its always hot and humid we may get a couple of weeks out of the year where its cold if i waited i would never get any i think all of mine have been done between June and August i go when i have extra saved and the books are open from the artist i like and odds i would still have the money if i dont book aren't good ✍️🌞💸❤
Im getting a tattoo in 3 days. But i have OCD and have to cover up all my tattoos no matter what. I only have 2 tsttoos rightnow. Getting my 3rd in 3 days. I should be good right?

If im getting a tattoo in september and plan on going to cancun on vacation. If I take the precautions after its healed for two months will the sun and water hurt my tattoo?
Ive gotten my sleeve finished and got another one recently n i just did my normal care routine n kept em covered up til their healed, so i dont see the issue
hello brothers, last Sunday I got a tattoo and on August 24th I have a vacation planned at the sea... is it still considered a fresh tattoo or I can enjoy the beach and the pool? Thx 🙏
