useful info, could see the student turning frontwards too early, and but could see the progression in skill in terms of waiting for the right time

Nice video! Was impressed by how much the pros pro-nate (is _that_ how they got the name?) But seriously, they really turn the racket (pronate) into the ball. But my main takeaway is to let the ball drop a little more. That and to hit the ball on the side vs. overhead. (Guess that's NOT how it got its name) Domo Arigato!

It is easy if you are in position for the smash but I think the hardest is being ready for the lob and back peddling. Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
@walterhayley7252

Watch closely--they don't back-peddle, they turn to the dominant side and then sidestep...
@kdoublec973
@kdoublec973 3 года назад
Yep I know, sorry I meant turning sideways and side stepping. it’s still one of the hardest aspects of positioning especially when you’re moving forward anticipating hitting a volley
@JamesDavisakaRemguy
@JamesDavisakaRemguy 3 года назад
@@kdoublec973 Moving your feet in tiny, shuffling steps, is the key to good positioning and spacing, on any shot. Maybe have your practice partner throw up the occasional lob when hitting you volleys. That way you can practice transitioning from moving forward to volley to backing up for the smash. Just a thought. [Personal Note: Re footwork, I wish I had that luxury - I'm a wheelchair player! I used to play able-bodied tennis. BEFORE. In WC tennis it's all about mobility, too. KEEP MOVING, keep rolling. If you stop, you're dead in the water. You'll never catch up to a ball from a dead stop.]
@kdoublec973
@kdoublec973 3 года назад
@@JamesDavisakaRemguy that’s really inspiring, thanks. I can tell that in WC tennis that it’s about keeping moving like you said. I often watch it during Grand slams and it’s amazing. Kunieda is my fav.

Forget about ur left hand raised and pointing. As I have done as many coaches tell, it's always like i wear some unfit clothes. Just focus on the timing. That is the key point.

I havn't watched the video and it's probably good advice, I just wanted to say that I think tennis is very intuitive and doesn't really need any coaching much. Like you just figure it out if you listen to your feel.

@@27scole You might like Feel Tennis or Intuitive Tennis channels then. I think we overemphasize technique, but taking ONE pointer out on the court with you is a good idea. Also, I feel that one piece of technical advice I get from a *qualified instructor* is worth approximately one million RU-vid videos. It's their ability to detect the most important thing for you to correct at this moment. Only then do you move on to the next, until you're all done and there's nothing left to work on. Yeah, right! Ha ha!

In my opinion you guys know what you are talking about, but I am not watching you ! Why? English translation is difficult to read, since translation stays on the screen very short time. And than in the meantime I want to watch your presentation so this is a problem for me ! If somehow you could translate in English by sound, that would be wonderful. Thank you !
