According to the DMV, the Interstate 264-Independence interchange is the number one crash cluster in Hampton Roads, and Independence Boulevard just off of the interstate is the second-highest non-interstate crash cluster in Virginia Beach.

I like the center overpass idea best, however I hope VDOT will a.) speed it up because it seems everything in this state is done too slow, and b.) also make it so either traffic from 264W is UNABLE to left turn at the light because the merge is too close OR perhaps build a flyover to Euclid Rd OR c.) if possible reroute traffic wanting Euclid Rd from 264 W to another ramp just for Euclid Rd. Now if they could only also plan something for 64E/Mercury Blvd to Coliseum Drive and that horrible itty bitty merge area traffic needs to use to make the left onto Coliseum dr (Hampton)...

Just a suggestion. Don’t have reporters stand so close to the 2nd worse crash roadway. Have them stand in the grassy areas if needed.

18 years!!!!!!! Asinine. I bet if a crash got enough publicity outside our area. We'd begin construction now and be ready by 2028. 18 years is absolutely ridiculous. This is where China and them have us beat. I love USA but they little fers build interstates in 6 months
