I was about to say: after the long slog that was the Arrancar War/Deicide arcs against the Espada and Aizen, the Fullbring Arc felt like a return to form, at least for a little while.

I know the “cobra chicken” bit is a reference to a Vine, I think? It involves a Hispanic worker complaining about Geese, but he doesn’t know the English word for them and ends up calling them “cobra chickens”

Lol you're good! The problem I have with the fullbring arc is that it's half baked. While I enjoy the emotions and tone of it (as someone else in the comments pointed out) it really has 0 impact on bleach. The deeper history of the substitute shinigami was so interesting, and they just do nothing with it. Everyone is besties again and Ichigo goes on like nothing ever happened. The reasoning for other people having powers was kinda dumb too, it had some good ideas and the powers were cool, but idk you go from explicit understanding of power scaling and shinigami training for decades if not centuries to obtain their skills, and then some rando humans just get stronger skills because... Reasons! The original explanation for the OG squad getting their powers from Ichigo's thick ass reatsu was more believable to me, even if that explanation was more of a hand wave than the fullbring thing. IDK the arc felt like just an elaborate way for Ichigo to get his powers back so the show could continue, and then he gets his powers back anyway from people in the Gotei 13 (which the stab in the heart from rukia mirroring episode 1 is a lovely touch) . The arc seemed like just another filler arc, but somehow cannon. Overall the ideas were interesting, but it cheapend Ichigo's sacrifice to defeat Aizen. Imo bleach should have stopped with Rukia saying goodbye to Ichigo. That is not the fullbring arc's problem, but the dragging on of a story that was clearly done leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It's also another arc to get me pumped for Chad and him being relegated to nothing again like every arc 😢 like (and this is a bigger issue with bleach but) after The fullbring arc, Ichigo is weak again and has to get ANOTHER power up 😅 which means everyone is weak again. Rip my boy chad 😢

I'll add the hueco mundo arc was far too long, especially in the anime my GOD, but The fullbring arc just does not compare to the ending of Aizen and rukia's goodbye.
