You can also just use a pan

@@dynomar11 it's a lot more harder with a pan which is why Cakejumper and RT used a different method being evaporating water (Not gonna bother with remembering the technical term) to melt the chocolate. There's around a 2 degree margin in which chocolate is in temper so there's less control when using a pan but if the heats on low and you keep an eye on the thermometer and use the chocolate while it's still in temper then a pan will still work fine.

@@theholyketchup6445 A double boiler. Have water in the bottom pot to take on the heat and evenly spread that heat to the chocolate in the top pot.

@@davidmcgill1000 Right, that was it. I'm pretty sure the first time I made millionare's shortbread I think I did use that method to melt my chocolate down even though I could've just used some bakers chocolate and a microwave.

@@theholyketchup6445 The trick is to chuck in some not-yet-melted bits of chocolate once it cools to the upper bound of the tempering zone, makes the whole thing temper really quickly.

We do that too! I don't know for sure but my assumption is that chocolate eggs started getting hidden in place of normal eggs so if any weren't found they wouldn't go bad. (It could also purely be a corporate thing trying to make money) It's tradition to gift children chocolate eggs on Easter, often hiding them. Making them from scratch can be fun too though! And as an adult all the unbought seasonal Chocolate goes on sale and it's awesome! :D

@@tom-0ton408 well, there are too many claimants hear that when Easter rolls around the chocolate will melt in. For example in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico we get about 2 weeks of Spring followed immediately by a week of false Summer then another week of spring followed by true Summer. And I live in the cool part of Texas. This Easter it was about 80°f (about 40° something Celsius) it can be up to 100°f or about 50°c. We also hide our eggs in the bushes and on the ground sometimes in the ground and under any detritus is large enough to hide something. Engine compartments and mufflers are not off limits. So everyone here uses little plastic eggs to hide candy and money or colored and decorated chicken eggs. For the adult egg hunt my family usually does money and booze. Don't get me wrong there's a ton of Easter themed candy and there are chocolate eggs and bunnies you can buy at the store. No eggs the size RT was making mind you, just a candy bar in the shape of an egg. But where I live if you try and hide any chocolate outside it will melt, main reason for the plastic eggs.

@@tom-0ton408 in the USA you can definitely go to the store around Easter and buy chocolate in the shape of eggs, with or without fillings, but I've never heard of people making chocolate eggs at home. I mean in the sense of holiday traditions, I'm sure there are some people who make all sorts of things out of chocolate at home, and I'm sure some of them will make Easter treats, but as far as family traditions I've only ever heard of hard boiling eggs and then dying the shells or decorating them in other ways.

Right? The biggest argument I've seen over tea preparation is if you're meant to pour the water onto the tea bag or put the tea bag in the water. There are some folks who feel very strongly about this

Only recommendation I've got is be absolutely certain you temper the chocolate, and maybe get silicone molds
