I grew up in a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house with a sister and 2 brothers, so 6 people in 1000 square feet house and it was never a problem. Sharing a room wasn't bad. Showers were no problem. I never remember anyone saying we had to get a bigger house. lol, funny how much things have changed.
When you are redoing the Roof,,,Add on another Master Bedroom and Bathroom,,,This way The boys will have there own 🛏️ bedroom Because the twins later on will start argument with only having one 🛏️ bedroom for them,,,It will cut out alot of arguing believe Me
I would suggest instead of going outwards, go upwards! You are going to replace the roof anyway, so put on a second story! 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Then knock out some walls on the main floor and make small rooms into a larger room! 💖💖💖 My projects are currently stalled while my broken wrist heals. I wish I could afford to hire a handyman to help with some of them. Like my bathroom. 11 months since I had to start fixing it up for the refinancing of my mortgage, and it's still not finished. It is stressful living with everything displaced. Praying I can find a way to finish it.💖🙏💖
Look at some remodeling apps, or a sketch book. Marc you do it Crandall will do it with crayons and Maverick will not be able to stand the urge to help and improve. I can see him standing there with hands on his hips one foot forward telling his dad the entire way to do it😂❤😂
If I was yall I would put a master bedroom and bath outside laundry room. Just go through laundry room to your bedroom. Not change any layout of the house. You already have a door there in laundry room. Yall are doing a great job ❤

❤My bathroom is very small too, so whenever I can get the handyman to finally come help, I am cutting into the wall above my sink, and putting in a recessed, deep cabinet that is mirrored, where the bottom part of the mirror folds out into a shelf, then, above the toilet on the same wall, I am hopefully having recessed shelves with a door, (if nothing is behind that wall) custom-made the same size as the mirrored cabinet. That will give me so much more space! We have had a lot changed about this house, and it is a long process! You all are doing great, and already your home looks amazing! God bless!
I had a talented man like Crandall. Don’t take him for granted. My husbands name was Jerry, an he did a lot of Jerry rigging to solve problems. I smile every time Crandall uses the term Jerry-rigging. Lost him to a heart attack 2 years ago. Miss him everyday.
As someone who lived and raised two kids while living in a house being remodeled. One big thing is don't be afraid to ask for help. Even if your hubby is a great handyman, installing wall board works better with two people who are strong enough and tall enough to do the job.
Id add on a whole new master suite and give Mav your old one the twins coud each have their own. Youve bee talking about redoing your roof . So what about adding a story while youre at it?
My dad use to say, mistakes are for growth improvements. 😊 I was a lot like Mavrick, always daddy's little shadow. Even though I was a girl I love building and doing things with dad. Just a suggestion here, something to at least consider. Since you plan to replace your roof anyway, build a second story. Chose an end of the house to put an enclosed staircase on and put the boy's bedrooms and some storage up there. 💖
As far as the flooring you might be able to put something like a marine epoxy on it to smooth it out. Im not sure if that's what they call it my aunt had a hardwood floor and she put some sort of marine based sealer on it to protect it from water. I just remember it being really smooth.
I love your videos and am so impressed with what your family has accomplished. Speaking from someone who has raised my family, hold off on replacing the floor until the children get older. Children have a way of prematurely beating up the house. After all the work you will have done on finishing the airplane hanger, I think your best option would be to add onto the house. Oh suggestion!! Make the master bedroom thw guest room and add onto the house making yourself a new master bedroom and additional room for rhe boys when they are ready for their own room. ❤
It’s gonna help a lot to not only save you money, but have your stuff basically out your back door. I was going to live in WA state for 3 to 5 years only. I wish I had never moved up there but my mom wanted to. Long story. I ended up being the last of the 3 of us that moved there, for just over 11 1/2 years. And after over a year, I still have stuff in storage up there while I’m back in Oregon. I have no place to put it. 😢
That was fun!!!! I'm so happy you're staying at Your Home!!! Especially because of Your New Shop!!! Crandall couldn't You add an entry way some day onto Your Front Patio at the Front Door? Then You could extend it all the way down and make the Front Bedrooms Bigger!!! I believe there's no brick on those outsiders walls. If so then wouldn't it be best to add on before You put Your New Roof on? Plus that wouldn't eat any of Your back yard up. You could leave the Bed Rooms The same size and make a Playroom for ALL Their toys off the Front Entryway/Mudroom (along the front off the nice entryway). Then You wouldn't even have to tear the front walls down??? Same everything else but that's cool. When the Twins are old enough They can have bunkbeds and You can build New Closets in You And Marci's bedroom. You could eventually Room in Your Back Patio also. That would be another Room!!! You could even make It half wall, Half screen with really strong ceiling fans!!! Then Marci could decorate it!!! You could someday put a bathroom in Your Shop. So MANY ideas. Here's a thought... how about, when you're done with your house, build a tiny home type unit on the property, like between the house and the greenhouse.
FYI for Marci vacuum before you mop it pulls the dirt up out of any crevices. Good luck on all the projects you’ve started so many going has to be overwhelming.
I think you’ve also found that financially you could’ve built a new house for what 💰💰you’ve put into remodeling! You should try grass pods! If you keep them watered they take root quick! If you buy the grass pods at the end of the season or buy them straight from a grass pod farm, you’ll save alot of money!
You could take the two boys rooms and make one big master bedroom and use your bedroom for guest. Then build an upstairs for three bedrooms and a bath?
you could always change the twins room to where your room is now and the expand there closet ( your old closet ) and make it a bit bigger and then with your new room area change the bathroom( thinking it on the same wall that is connected to the twins room, if not build a new one bigger) that is now connected to the other room and make it bigger connected to your new room and make your closet bigger over there and then just expand your room more out the front way cause that wouldn't interfere with the other stuff you have going on now. and if i was wrong about the bathroom then the twins have a small bathroom for future use.

Do you addition either go up or out but please do it before you update your roof. You don’t hv to finish the insides or even wire, heat & plumb until you save up.
Things always change during a remodel, they arent really mistakes. Yall didnt anticipate the blessings of twins so it has caused a need for alteration of plans. Yall will work it out!❤
I had to rebuild my house after a renter trashed it. When I say rebuild I mean totally gut bathrooms kitchen replace all the windows and even replace the roof after the tenant shot holes through the celling. A friend kept asking how long will it take to rebuild I kept saying 6 months. It became a running joke after more than 3 years I kept saying 6 months. Maybe my priorities needed some adjustment.
Couldn't you build an "L" shaped master around the laundry room, so your bedroom would be through the door of the laundry room and the master bath wrap around the side of the house on the back of the laundry room, therefore plumbing would be there for the bathroom too... interesting way of a "guest" bedroom would be over the shop possibly? like a Granny suite... just put it over the area you already plan on having all the plumbing?? just something off the top of my head anyway... that way it would also offer guests privacy and a chance to recoup or not disturb the sleep schedule of the boys.
Before y'all do anymore major work on a shop, exterior/interior remodeling, make a decision now about moving or staying there and adding on. I wouldn't have bought the shipping containers if I wasn't going to stay there for a very long time. Are you close to where the kids will be going to school? Is it close to your church? Remember, location is everything in real estate. The biggest mistakes we made when we built our house in 1996 was we didn't get a bigger shower. the VERY biggest mistake we made was turning our attached garage into a huge den and we got a drive under garage. That meant we had tons of steps. I had to sell the house after my husband passed away because of mobility issues for me and my dogs. The original plan was on a slab and I regret we didn't leave it that way, or I would still be living there.
Crandall knows how to manipulate Marci. LOL. I need this, so I can do this. You have great talent, but priority’s are way different. The green house was gonna be a shop but now, you need a shop. The pond was a dream, but no yard for your sweet kids to play in and roll in the grass. You built the beautiful entertainment wo the shop, but now you can’t finish wo the shop??? You kids are a crack up.
Ah don't rip out the laundry room use the outter door to walk into a new add in part of the house from that door. Make yourself a new bed and bathroom the size ya want from there😢
That was a very cute video thank you for sharing the 5 things about remodeling they were interesting to me that was to bad you guys had to use the wedding money to get your bedroom stuff but I am sure at the time that’s all you had to get it and that was to bad Crandall you did your parents bathroom floor and then realize that it wasn’t going to work I bet that was frustrating the floor in that house is pretty but it looks like you would have a hard time keeping things out of the cracks but maybe in the future you guys might come along something different that you might like better I can hardly wait to see the entertainment center finished but I now you will get it done sometime Crandall I am excited for you that you have a place now to put your tools you can have them at home now and you can bring the other stuff from the storage unit and give it up and now you guys can save money from the storage unit I bet you guys are happy about that I bet you guys really enjoy the land you are living on if you guys really do I would try and make the house bigger if you can and want to that house is so beautiful in the inside and one day it will on the outside you guys will get there one day Crandall you do a fantastic job on anything that you do I enjoy watching whatever it is that you are doing because all of it interesting me and Marci I like to see what you do for the holidays that interest me I really enjoyed the video I can hardly wait for the next video thank you so much for the video I hope you guys have a great rest of your night and to the start of the week you guys are so welcome I love watching your videos thanks again ❤

use a wet broom in soap easy scrub all over then use mop to pick up soap from floor . Crandal is the handy man husbands that lot of wives wish to have . i want a bigger bathroom done ! i want a marble counter top done i like wood floor done i like a big kitchen sink window done wow its like having the magic wand !
What are you going to do about the roof? I thought it was going to be done this summer along with the siding. I was married to a man who was a builder we bought an older home the one thing that drove me crazy was hin hopping from one project to the other but never finishing anything. For two years my stove set in the living room waiting for the kitchen to be done. And like Marcie I had 3 kids under 5. It drive me crazy.
I had to laugh about this post, lol. My brother-in-law used to work for Sears repairing TVs. My sister-in-law said their TV was the only one that didn't work and never got fixed, lol. 😂
