I'm a California boy who lived in Phoenix for nine years as a young man. It is a very good place to call home. And she is right about the good food.

Hello! I’m happy to hear you loved living in Phoenix. 😊 It is indeed a fantastic place to live. Hopefully you get to visit often. And yes! Our cuisine seems to get better and better every year. Harder to find good seafood out here vs being in Cali though. 😆 Thank you for watching!

Thumbnail got my attention. 😉 I like Prescott, AZ. Not as busy, not as hot, etc. I want to spend summers in Montana and Winter down in Arizona when I retire. I'm spoiled in Maui.
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 Год назад
Hello! I totally agree with you about Prescott! My family had a cabin there growing up (in Highland Pines) and we went every summer. It was fantastic. Needless to say I was very upset with my parents when they sold it. Lol! Prescott is such a well-kept town. It has that small town feel but with all the amenities of a larger city, plus, you’re only an hour and a half from Phoenix! I’ve never been to Montana, but I hear it’s absolutely stunning. You should watch my most recent video on things to do in Phoenix during summer. I talk a bit about Prescott, my experiences there and how great it is. However, nothing compares to Maui! I’ve been to Oahu more than I’ve been to Maui, as my sister went to HPU and she was also married there, but I have been to a wedding in Maui/Lahaina, it’s been a long time though. The Hawaiian islands are definitely a wonderful place to live your life. My longtime Highschool friend has lived on Maui for the last 15 years or so, she swears by the Maui cookie lady. 😆 An old college friend is from Maui as well, we used to eat at a restaurant called islands out here during college because he said it would remind him of back home. Lol Thanks for watching! 😊

@@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 Thank you for your perspective, I'll have to watch more of your videos! The Cookie Lady up in Makawao is definitely a treat! Mama's Fish House is definitely a great restaurant if you can get a reservation! Pricey but worth it for special occasions. I have friends in Phoenix, I'll have to check it out more! If you find a mid century modern let me know...that is my favorite residential architecture!

I have lived here since 1980s....winters are perfect. Summers become tolerable after you get used to heat. At lest heat is dry. But you just stay inside more in the a/c too much. That's the only thing i don't like. Also find it harder to build a sense of community. But that's on the individual. Can be isolating at times. But that's big city living.😊
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 27 дней назад
Hello! First off, I adore your screen name. When my son was smaller I used to rock him to sleep to Lynyrd Skynyrd. I agree with the staying inside during summer heat a lot. Right now is that exact time. We go swimming almost every day though, that's the key! I agree as well that it's pretty dry usually but its much better than staying inside for 4 months due to snow! LOL Thanks for watching!

It's the paving of the environment and the air pollution that I noticed. Soon Phoenix will exceed the populace of London UK. I visit relatives and mostly enjoy the friendly people. Thanks for this presentation.
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 Год назад
Hello! You are correct. The growth Phoenix is encountering is causing an urban heat island. The city of Phoenix has started a "cool pavement coating" project though, and so far the results are really good. Cool pavement coating reflects a higher portion of sunlight, hence absorbing less heat. Because of the higher reflection rate that the coating has, the potential to offset rising nighttime temperatures is a great one. This will not only help save newer vegetation from dying off in summer months, but will eventually lead to cooler temps city-wide (in the far future) and help knock out effects of urban sprawl. The air pollution is... not great. I'm not gunna lie LOL. Phoenix metro has implemented more public transportation with the extension of our light rail and we do have warnings for "no burn days" etc. However, with our extreme growth and consistent drought, (though the last 2 years have been phenomenal for rain amounts and cooler temps) I do not know what the future holds in that regard, respectfully. Also, how crazy that Phoenix is almost the size of London! I did not know that. Thank you for sharing! PS. I'm glad to hear you find Phoenicians friendly. I find it to be the same. :)

Say what @paulburick1506?? London is pushing 9 mil with a metro pushing 15 mil.... gonna take awhile for Phoenix to surpass that😂

I lived in Phoenix in 2010 and liked it a lot, worked outside doing security and it was so dry I never sweated. The winters are perfectly nice and warm too, not cold. Lived off I-17 near Bethany Home Walmart. That was during the 2008 housing crash, lot of cheap condos Had my license plate stolen off my truck while I was in a store maybe 15 minutes (Mexicans ?) Am from Florida but living in S America now. I'd NEVER LIVE in Florida again and would prefer ARIZONA ! IF I did move back, I'd go for N Phoenix near DEER VALLEY maybe Prescott, hang out till all the real estate crashed and buy something !

Hello! Thank you for watching and sharing your story! You are so correct, we have a dry heat so the sweating, compared to Florida, is much easier to deal with! I love prescott! I used to go every year a few times a year growing up. Such a beautiful city. I-17 and Bethany Home has come a long way. It has definitely cleaned up and is much nicer than it was back in 2008. N Phoenix is where I grew up and yes, its great! I live in the east valley now but I love visiting friends up there. We hope to see you back in Phx soon!

Phoenix is great place to live if you want to smoke fentanyl while waiting a long long time for the bus.
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 Год назад
Thank you for sharing your insight on such a heartbreaking topic. While I do not have any personal experience with fentanyl, I have lost people in my life to addiction. Addiction is a disease and not a choice. I agree with you that fentanyl is a big issue among our community and nationwide. The opioid epidemic is very real and extremely horrifying. It has taken the lives of people I know and for that I am forever changed. I believe everyone has been affected across all walks of life, not just us residing in Phoenix. Addiction is a beast and it holds no prejudice. I believe we all want to be happy, loved and appreciated for the uniqueness we bring to the world. I hope those struggling can see that we do value them, their opinions and we understand it's not their fault. The brain is wild but it is also resilient. I've been studying neuroplasticity recently and I find it fascinating. I wish you the best on your venture to regain faith in the people of Phoenix.

This was helpful as I’m deciding between moving to Phoenix or Denver in the next year. The heat/sun is what is stopping me but everything else I’m loving and in Denver I don’t mind the cold/winters ☀️❄️
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 10 месяцев назад
Hello! Denver is gorgeous, no doubt! The main differences between the two cities is obviously, the weather, and then home prices. Phoenix metro is much more affordable to purchase a home than Denver. For a 3 bedroom 2 bath home about 1200+ SF in Denver, it’s about $570,000 and the median price for a home like that in Phoenix is about $440,000. Denver does have all the seasons though. Phoenix is mostly sunny, except December-February we are relatively cool ❄️ and you can drive two hours north and be skiing, snowboarding, etc. so it just kind of depends where your priorities lie. Both are really great places to live! Thank you for watching and if you ever have any questions on the Phoenix, metro real estate market, definitely contact me! I would be more than happy to run reports and get you more information. 😊 thanks!

"Dry Heat" So is a Thermonuclear bomb! Phoenix is like living at ground zero. You will need gloves to touch the steering wheel in summer and not get 2nd degree burns.
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 Год назад
😂 You are correct! But really only in July and August. Ok, maybe some June & Sept, too. 🔥 If you park in the shade or a garage it’s not really noticeable though. Especially because you bring a jacket to your office, movie theater, grocery store etc cuz everyone decided if it’s 115 outside it should be 45 degrees inside 😂 But it is a decent trade off from shoveling snow for 3-4 months. And dry heat is much better on your joints vs cold weather. I’ll take a margarita with a swimming pool over icy underpants any day 🤓 (even though I don’t drink you get the point Lol).
@e-ticket5625
@e-ticket5625 Год назад
How many months does the heat really last?
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 Год назад
Hello! In general, July and August are HOT and can get humid. The night time lows are in the 90's so you are warm if you are outside , a lot. However, every grocery store, office, movie theater, restaurant etc pump their air down to like, 60 degrees, so it's very icy inside most places. I typically bring a light jacket to grocery shop in the summer😂 If you park in the shade it's not that noticeable. If you park in the sun and you get to your car in the afternoon... it sucks. I'm not going to lie there. You'll be soaked in sweat the second you get into your car and your steering wheel and anything metal is firey to the touch. Some people use gloves in the summer when parking in the sun. However, we have a zillion AC companies out here so if you keep your AC at home tuned up, your air bill will be high but you'll be cool once inside. If you are outside by a pool it's really not too bad. June is usually dry and about 100-105 with a heat wave about once per June of 110-115 degrees. June nights are still in the 70's/80's and breezy so its not bad. Sept is like June. It starts to cool down at night but the days are still over 100. Also, monsoon hits hardest in July and August so you'll get random days below 100 and nights in the 70's from the rain. And AZ rain smells amazing! It's actually mold spores but they smell great 🤣 October-April are great with a focus on Dec, Jan, Feb being amazing. May is hit or miss but usually lows at night in the 70's and highs in the 90's. The nice thing is that everyone sweats like crazy so no one judges or cares. And most places have free water wherever you go.
