The choice of classes is really good, I like to pick exactly the same party. But attribute point assignment choice here is quite poor. First: The effect is from uneven stat numbers- 3, 5, 7, ..(and so every 2 points) up to 21. Then- at 21, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 50, 75 and 100. So at low numbers, like it is at the start, it is always best to have uneven numbers, and up to 21, for most efficient use of points. The second thing: number of attribute points in this game goes up a lot, so initial numbers lose influence fast during the game. That means- best initial numbers are those, that will help early game the most. So: a) all 3 magic chars should get 21 Endurance, while the Knight will be fine with it even lowered to 13. Then all chars will have about the same (good) number of HPs at start, - and the knight will soon have way more than others anyway. Also important, and a bit secret effect of high endurance: it helps to save characters from receiving bad status effects in early game, like being poisoned, deseased, etc. And one more thing: high endurance= higher HP pool= higher number of damage needed to be really dead (not just unconscious-healable). b) luck is a dump stat, but only because you can raise it for free in early game (so minimize it when creating the party). Otherwise- it is very useful- having it high helps resisting bad things everywhere. Should be spread to every character later in the game to at least 21 or 25. c) Might is useful for the character that will be doing melee damage- that is, the knight. It helps a lot to have it at least at 15 for him at game start. d) Intelect and personality are important for asociated magic classes that have SP from them- so should be at 21 for magic casters, and maybe even for Paladin or Archer if they are to be used for casting buffs early on. Druid benefits from both, but there may be not enough atribute points to give him 21 to both Intelect and Personality. e) accuracy is very important in early game, as it will greatly improve melee and ranged capability. So at least for the most damaging class (which is the knight)- consider making it 21, so that his hard hits actually land on enemies. f) Speed has minimal effect to damage output in early game. After all- most weapons have recovery at ~90, so a few points lower from having high speed will not change much. But same amount of points towards accuracy will actually help to land much higher portion of hits. Thus- reduce speed for everyone except the knight. Feed purple (speed) barrels to him, while others should wait for fountain of speed to get this atribute to 15-16 for free. g) And last- 4 stats- Luck, Endurance, Personality, and Intelect affect the chance of resisting bad status effects. So later in the game- it is best to improve those for everyone to at least 25, instead of, say, feeding all points of intelect to sorcerer, which already has it high (say at 57, while next step to gain benefit after 50 is only at 75. So- in mid-late game is best to even-out these attributes for everyone, so everyone has everything at ~25, instead of piling them where they do not matter due to high step toward the next tier. Now- for easy early game: take bow and body building starting skills for the knight, and meditation + a mix of magic for the magic classes. First thing to do, after picking 1000 gold- hire a merchant or a duper as a companion (also soon hire a scholar). Then wait till the evening, and learn Merchant skill for the knight. He will be responsibe for being a merchant, repair, disarm, and perception for the party. Now, next day, sell all body armor/shields for classes that do damage with weapons or bows, and do not keep/wear them, or put any skill points to train armor/shield skills till at least level 20. That is because in early game, armor/shields slow down the attacks, actually making your party weaker. Instead- train 'Spirit' to expert as soon as possible, add a bit to Merchant skill, and buy gloves/capes/boots/helms, which give great armor class for cheap, while not slowing the attacks. With some merchant skill, and bonus to it from a companion- buying items from cheap shops is more like borrowing, because soon they can be resold at the same price. Also- in early game, it is better to train magic skills like Spirit (for Bless and Heroism) to 4+ level, and that will make your party decent fighters. Later add to that constant Haste (and maybe buy items that reduce recovery)- and your party will be wonderfull fighers without even each spending their skill points to train weapon skills. Also, even in very early game search all shops for, and buy items that regenerate mana and HPs. Sell all rings and other items that are enchanted with, say, any attributes or resistances if gold is short, and you find useful items, like mana regeneration, or + skills. And do not forget to always use +10 strength fountain in first town after each sleeping (or do not sleep in the wild), because very early in the game- that bonus is equal to a high ~5 points extra to melee damage, or similarly useful bonuses from fountains near other towns. And even better is to later use Town portal or Lloyds Beacon to fountains that add +15, 30 or 40 levels temporary, then to churt to top up mana and Health, and explore the world with having their effect on. And one last thing: play with unofficial patch installed, to avoid bugs and have better UI. With all this advice, game will be much easier and faster. I even do not allow bows to my magic classes, and limit daggers to only one character to make MM6 more balanced. Game is easy enough already.
Very good tips. My hiring is a banker which is odd they take a certain % and you gain that same % on looting so I'll swap it to scholar and duper for more neat options. As for shops yeah abuse the save/load system and those rings will pop up. I will say merchant skill and enchant item is insane to make money. Once again thanks for the extra tips you own.
I remember growing up and reading about the Might & Magic games in the gaming magazines I'd buy - never played them - now I'm giving them a go as an adult - This video has been amazingly helpful as I find the game confusion to say the least. Thanks a lot!
Thanks Precocious Turtle. Glad you liked my latest new player guide. This game is a gem and what happens when you let a studio take their time on games.
This game keeps calling me back and I'm going to start a new game. I'll use an archer for the first time to try someone new. One thing I do at creation is to remove points in intelligence and personality from classes that don't need the traits. Knight need neither, Sorcs don't need personality, Clerics don't need Intelligence. If anyone knows differently I would like to hear about it. So far it's been a good summer playing and finishing Divinity Enhanced Edition, Dragon Age Origins, and of course Skyrim Anniversary Edition. I'm an older player and I have to believe these games keep me sharp. I wish more people my age played these games, but they just look at me with a blank stare....a different generation for sure! Thanks for your videos and I always look forward to them.
It's a wonderful classic and thanks for the extra tips. I agree it's been a good summer. I've myself been playing Fable Anniversary, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and even Pokémon Sword for kicks. I agree I do wish too people play more classics like this. My pleasure and I will do more classics like this in the future.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed my Might and Magic 6 new player guide. This game I wanted to do a guide for since I've played it and beaten it before Google+ went down.
Thanks and I am glad to have you on the channel. I will post more classic help guides and might even do an spare let's play when things die down. Might even do this game and have fun with it.
Thanks I Am Lif3ofdreads. I wanted to do a new player guide on this game so bad. I am happy I did since it's a classic and the series tends to get a nice sale on Good Old Games.
Glad you enjoyed my latest in my new player guide series. This game is really great and yes best in the series so it should be first one I made a guide for.
Thanks Force Hammer Gaming. I looked at this game in my GoG library for awhile and went for it. Feels good doing this classic, I might return to these classics when things die down.
I wanted to do this game and possible some of the game series for the longest of time. Well worth doing the guide since it will show new people this series or people who wants to return to it.
Thank you for the helpful tips, I was keeping horseshoes in my inventory bc i thought they bought a stupid bonus, my faulty childhood memories of that game are sometime not very helpful ahah
Glad you found this helpful. I was like that with the horseshoes a long time ago until I used it on my healer and was amazed by it. This game brings back wonderful memories.
I've missed out this when Ultima Online was out. About a few years later I've discovered the series and I missed out on this game. Good of Games had it out and I got it. Just say I spent many fun hours playing this game. Even recently before Google+ went down I've beaten the game, well worth it. Thanks for stopping by.
Thank you so much. In order to get rid of the henchman you want to get rid of, just click on their portraits than click on the dismiss word and they are gone. After that you are free to get another.
Hello friend good job on the walkthrough! Question on the keyboard how do I use my flying spell I think I'm pressing incorrect buttons any help would be appreciated
@@LordFentonGaming wow brother thank you so much for the quick reply I will definitely make a note of that you've helped me very much I thank you if you had to play the game again would you pick light magic or dark magic?
@@raymondswitser1 Since this is Might and Magic 6 I would do both. There is no problems going both magics at all in this one. Now 7 you should do a light and dark playthrough.
I cannot promise I would. If things seriously die down I might. If not I will post the very first line in the stick and in the description on how to install it.
wowww, my dads friend from college gave me a copy of this back in the day, but my lowly windows me wouldnt run it lol so how is it today to get this game running?
