YES ! I am finding this so true. Consciousness Awareness Mindfulness is for analyzing. You dont want to analyzing all day long or you will not enjoy life as much. I think the middle way here is a healthy balance between the two for a healthy life. I like enjoy Mindfulness but not 24/7. Good tutorial here. You cant through life in a daydream 24/7 either. BALANCE is the key. Thank You I needed this tutorial 🙏👍😊

As a meditator myself I must say that mindfulness practices have helped me greatly in the beginning. It is not a Western concept just because an English term is used for the practice. It has its roots in Budhist practices. The most prominent teacher was an asian Buddhist monk. Different things work for different people. That is why even Geeta talks about four different paths for spirituality.

Mindfulness was popularised by Vipassana in the name Anapan. But its origin is not from Buddha. Its a very basic and ancient meditation of Yoga.

I believe every form of spiritual practice is covered when it comes to ancient yogic concept.Just like many Indian Gurus come up with different names to the same old practices , they came up with the term “Mindfulness”. The teachings simplify the first steps towards meditation. I have derived great benefit from the teachings of Thich Naht Hanh. For me , a guru encourages exploration in spiritual journey rather than being prescriptive.

Even pranayama is a form of mindful breathing. mindfulness and living in the present moment both require to be mindful. in mindfulness one is mindful of a particular subject such as breathing walking or thoughts, whereas in being in the present moment when is aware of only the present situation whatever it may be. Thoughts are either of the past or the future so when one is in the present moment, strictly speaking, there can no thoughts. Yes when one is mindful of thoughts, normally one tries to control,analyse the thoughts, this indeed can be stressful. This is not the real way, the real way is Choiceless awareness, where one is simply aware of the thoughts, without involvement, interference or judgement While it is difficult initially, with th practice, this awareness becomes practically effortless.

I think you can be mindful and relaxed. If you drive you don’t have to be mindful, most people don’t ever remember getting from A-B. I think you can put anything on automation. I can have my driving on automation and still be mindful of other processes. No matter how mindful you are, you can’t be aware of all processes. In mediation you can be mindful of the body as your thoughts appear ‘empty’. You would then say you are in the present moment and mindful at the same time. Being in gratitude for the present moment you are being mindful, relaxed, and in the present moment. This guy isn’t so insightful. This video was enough to ask RU-vid not to suggest this channel.

Off course you have to be mindful all the time, for that is what is LIVING. every breath you take should reassert your being mindful. The other option is to practice Art of Living, which is a great escape route 😂

Gurudev, with all due respect Mindfulness is not a product of the west. Eightfold path of Buddha says "Right Mindfulness". And mindfulness meditation involves savouring the present moment. Like appreciation of nature or savoring a bowl of icecream

Well, Jon Kabat-Zinn, the best known western representative of "mindfulness" as a mental technique would completely agree with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, I suppose. In a very interesting interview in Switzerland he elaborated on the misinterpretation of the practice of "mindfulness" in the west, especially in Europe, and what Gurudev is saying in this clip is very similar to what J.Kabat-Zinn explained with regard to the misinterpretation. Gurudev does not seem to refer to Buddha's teachings here. What many westerners practice as "mindfulness" has little to do with Buddha's teachings.
