Just another week at JMR Rebuilders and the Coyote swap F150 cab removal, but not without major stress. We definitely found out the WRONG WAY to remove a cab from a 1995 F150.

You guys have truly become one of my top 3 favorite RU-vid channels. And all 3 are tied as far as ranking. The other 2 I have been watching for about 3-4 years and have even become friends with both of the content creators. Found you because of this build and I keep watching because of how entertaining you both are as a team, even when it’s an 8 minute video about how to mount a sway bar. Keep up the good work, all of it.👍

Thanks brother. I often worry about not creating content that has enough meat. Appreciate those encouraging words brother. Glad we have made it into the top 3 that's awesome brother. Thanks for the encouraging words and support.

I know these feels. That cab is hefty and front heavy. I set mine up on cross beams and pulled the stock height chassis out. The challenge was putting it down on my much lower chassis. Keep it up guys! I like seeing the different approaches

Great video! I was planning on doing the same with my truck and gantry. But I see that your gantry wasn’t tall enough. What is the measurement to the tallest point of your gantry? I think mine is about the same height. Yikes . Thanks

That was 9ft i believe. We ended up selling it and getting a 12ft one. It worked out though. Let us know if you need any help. Glad we can give ya some direction. Thanks for the encouraging comment and welcome to JMR NATION.

I pulled an extended cab off by myself with a cherry picker. I took off the chain and hook and built a boom out of 1x4's and attached the boom where the pivot was in the center mounted to pin hole at the end of the picker. Then I opened both doors and pushed the picker to where it was pushing up in the center of the cab with each end of the boom in each door frame. The I just jacked it up enough to clear the frame and pulled the picker back and set the cab down on blocks. Worked perfectly. I decided not to repurpose the wood and keep the boom just in case I needed to do it again.

Good videos guys. One question though. Why was in necessary to remove the cab? Just to make it easier to work on?
@JMRRebuilders
@JMRRebuilders 3 года назад
Yeah the cab is very restrictive. Removing it allows us to get the coyote in and not fight anything. Appreciate the support.

I think we've found out there are about a half a dozen easier ways to do what we did. Thanks for the comment! It really does help us grow in our channel. -jason

@@JMRRebuilders I’ve done it twice. Once I cab swapped my 95 and it was gutted and 4 of us lifted it and man even empty with no doors or anything that bitch was heavy. The other time on my 79 I jacked the cab and truck up on each side and put 6x6s across under the cab and let the truck down while adding blocks to keep the cab up. Then rolled the frame away.

Almost gave it a 👎🏻 for the Broncos shirt! Great as usual, can’t wait for the next installment. I’m also curious where the cab was leaking to cause the floor pans to rust, I’m sure mine would be the same.

So thumbs down I'm a dolphin fan. Think Jason isn't really a bronco guy though. Appreciate the support. I imagine the water is coming in through the Windshield or door gaskets. All good we will be replacing it all.

Um new to this channel. I was asking myself, why don’t they jack up the rear on the center section and take the wheels off. Then you could have lowered it and pushed it out.

Do you have pics for reference of how to remove the ebrake cable and the transmission cable that I believe goes to the speedometer? I have everything else disconnected I believe to be able to pull the cab off but not sure what to do with those 2 things I mentioned. Comment on that would be greatly appreciated. I can get a picture of what I mean if it would help....not very well versed on proper terms so I may not be using the right words for what I still need to remove
@JMRRebuilders
@JMRRebuilders 2 года назад
I am not sure I remember exactly. The ebrake i believe was removed off the back of the release and pulled through. The tramsmission cable i believe we intially removed from the transmission when we pulled motor and trans. Hope it helps and good luck

Considering pulling the cab on my '95 250 to repaint the frame during the resto. Just being honest. Tech mixed with TicTok antics isn't my bag. Might be for others. I fast forwarded a couple times and it was just more chatter. Left a comment I thought might help and bailed.
