Here is the video of a tractor flipping ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V8F-Y2w_3eo.html

I grew up using tractors when I was a kid, but I just finished a long career in the Army. Now retired, I bought my first tractor about 8 months ago. Learning as I go. I just got my first rotary cutter last week, and this video really gave me some pointers. I was mowing my road side access, and there is a small drainage ditch there, and it got fairly steep. I was able to "common sense" my way through it, but not knowing what I don't know, is dangerous. It's input / content like this that really helps us new tractor owners out. Thanks for great content! Excellent tips young man! Especially the roll bars and seat belt.... hand in hand. One without the other is trouble. We had a middle age man have his tractor flip over on him... Thankfully by God grace, the man had his cell phone on him and he could call for help!! I have know to many men killed by the tractor flipping on them. To many! .... Beautiful country around you... so lush and green! keep that mowed down so when deer season comes you can see those big bucks better 👍

Mallard 5 Farmhouse LOL!!! Men and their tractors, with a HINT of deer season! I have one of those that I have been married to for 43 years! Only mine has a “Hilton Deer Stand”.... but I guess at 70 years old he does need extra heat, recliner, small refrigerator ( not plugged in,... but critters can’t get his snacks!) while sitting up in the air! He use to be a great hunter and many horns horns to prove it... but sickness and age can interfere with your “game”.... I could almost smell the fresh mowed land CJ .... 👍

I have a trick I have used a few times: First, I always mow with my brakes not connected and my tractor in FWD. If I'm a little concerned about mowing across a slope I lightly touch the uphill brake to see if that wheel has some weight on it. If it locks up really easy, I immediately turn downhill.

I totally agree with everything you said CJ. My younger brother has a 4005 John Deere about the same size as your tractor. While i don't do much mowing on slopes, I've heard him talk about mowing with his front loader on and lowered . This is a good counter balast and as you said can keep you from tipping over while going up hill. Thanks buddy.

The top link connection on your 3 point for the bush hog, you could replace the straight bar down to the deck with a piece of chain, or cut it in to two sections closer to the top and put in a pivot point. Our 6 foot bush hog has a small expansion type joint there for movement to keep it from binding up......We mow alot! Both with the 6 foot bush hog and the 12 foot batwing and steep hills can be pretty scary for sure. Great video!

Very good info , never did any brush hogging, safetyfirst.! That quick hitch seems to be very helpful if you’re switching implements regularly.or doing farming chores. My winch was on my last tractor for 18 years. If I was switching implement on a regular basis I would have one.i don’t see how you could flip the tractor over backwards with the brush hog on there, maybe I’m missing something. I have never had an issue with bending anything on the 3 point hitch with my rough cut mower going over bubs or depressions while having the mower hooked directly on my 3 point. Actually, I had more issues in that respect when I was using the quick hitch. I eventually removed the quick hitch and just use the regular hookup to the 3 point. No more issues after that. There is always some give on the stabilizer arm . Also the mower has a clevis type of attachment on the mower which hooks onto the stabilizer arm on the tractor. I have the same type of clevis on the finishing mower and my rough cut. This gives me plenty of movement between the mower and the tractor when backing up a steep bank or going down it and evening out at the bottom. I do agree however, that the quick hitch is much more convenient hooking up to different attachments.
@Mallard5plus1Farmhouse
@Mallard5plus1Farmhouse Год назад
Yeah I hardly use my quick hitch anymore either. My issue with my old brush hog is that it didn't have that rotating clevis so I really was at risk of bending it on some spots I mow 👍

Thanks. I have a small lake with a dam. I never mow it, though my brother does with and old Ford 2000. I tell him it isn’t worth the risk mowing “sideways “. This week something told me to back up the dam. Didn’t go far before slipping. I and going to add a quick hitch for it. I bought a brand new Massey 55hp non 4WD last year. It’s great, but a little light on the front end. I traded in an MF255 which seems to be heavier and lower center of gravity. I feel uneasy on the new one on even the slightest grade change. Tomorrow I am calling the dealer and having a front loader installed. They will even pick it up from the farm and return, for the sale. I have responded to tractor accidents and they give me nightmares. Just not worth the risk for some stinking grass.

Those tires are good on sand or Blacktop, but useless in snow or clay, infact they are designed for longer ware running up and down the Highway, people think they will be safer on hills, but the Truth is they are nothing but a means to make the tractor slide sideways.
