Use the throttles to steer, on twin engine boats!!! If you use the throttles cats are really easy to maneuver.

Keep it simple. Backup further, get lined up, bring it in smooth and as slow as wind and currents will let you control it. Know which side you're going to dock on, get the fenders out early, two lines ready, use a reach pole to grab the dock.

Cat captain over here. In close quarters, no steering wheel, only throttles and ENJOY what makes Cats so great to maneuver! If not, well, you see what happens!😂😂😂

Yea, as a newbie myself, I plan on hiring a captain to give some instruction plus spend a few hours unloading, docking, and loading over and over again.

I don't understand why, when you have one end of the boat tied off, you don't use the engine to pivot the other end into the dock.

The teacher didin't know what he was doing himself. He could have helped his angle several times if he had steered with the throttles.

amazes me how many people don't understand that you have to anticipate what the boat is going to do and steer or use throttle BEFORE the boat is in line with where you want to go or whatever. It's water, not asphalt.

Maybe if the guy would learn how to back the trailer in it would be easier to load.. 2 ft off the dock with trailer makes loading a breeze.. but then you need to know how to back a trailer.

I own and drive a cat . As long as the trailer is properly set up its pretty straightforward to launch . Also dont put the trailer in too deep .

You aim a boat, you steer a car. That's the difference. Plus the boat is rear steer like a fork lift.

First guy driving the cat like it’s a single screw or a car. Throttles only gets it done. This is something learned thru experience. These guys are clearly newbies … best to practice out in the open water.

The cat has 2 engines. Learn how to split them and how to control each motor on it's own.

Clearly the trailer is in the wrong place, should be closer to the dock, not in the middle of the ramp, rookies. Boats do not turn like cars they turn on the beam.
