Francesca has a REALLY GOOD Hero Combo with Falward which they practically fully heal everyone and boosts up the attack for 3 turns. Very useful against bosses
Yusuke is also crazy good because his Crit Chance is INSANE, at least when I've used him. Not only does he have the Charge Up, but when you add the fact that he might crit almost 60-70% of the time (possibly), he gets RIDICULOUSLY powerful! His kicks are crazy, I swear.
Iugo is literally the first recruit you can get. The second Ymir tells you to go recruit, right after the intro mission, you can walk right over to the bar and get him.
This is the second video where you mention getting Iugo after the HQ. Please read the comments and correct this. Iugo should be the VERY FIRST character you get at the start of the game when you're told to recruit. Yusuke is the second.
Yusuke is a damn treasure. Double charge up and then armor pierce an enemy that has a massive shield, and high crit chance. Pair him with an attack buffer and then you got a solid damage dealer.
plus falward is fast so you can put him on heal duty, let francesca be converted into offensive caster and you actually want an anchor character who is really slow because of gimmicks
Ugh. I missed Falward and im stuck in the PG on the second boss… not sure what to do. Gonna level some other and try a few more times but I really don’t wanna have to reload before all of this…. Fml 🤦♂️
@@crono276 No, you get access to him as SOON as you get your hq and return to elisteeiss-ish territory. I can't remember which village, but I know I IMMEDIATELY recruited him after I got the hq. He was second, after the tool shop guy. Third was yume and friend, then fourth was galdur on the way back, i think. I could have gotten more but im only so far in and I've been grinding so I can't really remember that clearly. Hope that helps. Also, early game grinding spot, would be the area right before you get to the tree folk village. Get a bear rider spawn, just kill everyone but him over and over. Let him summon his ads, keep defending, bring yusuke, Francesca, and falward. Yusuke should stay charging until an ad spawns, he should attack it and ONLY he should attack unless you miss. His double charge kills any ad spawns at level 18 and up, possibly sooner, but Francesca and falward with their unity will heal up everybody and boost attack. Bring revival medicine and SOME healing, magic drops as well if you got em. Rack up 30 ad spawn kills, SPECIFICALLY the ones from bear rider, bear rider and every other enemy that initially spawns in the battle contribute little to nothing to the result, basically you'll hit 40-52 range in one battle from 18-20 range. Repeat with every hero you can while keeping yusuke falward and Francesca, and you'll get all your homies super buffed for the entire early game, and they will be whipping tail into the mid game LONG before they level up again.
I got Iugo right at the beginning when I needed to find and recruit until i had full party of 6. You can even get him before leaving the town for the first time.
Mio's only saving grace is that she's BFF's with Hakugin, who's a beast in the mid game. Basically a faster, stronger Lian with thrown damage, slightly better defenses, and a rune skill that hits an entire row.
I got Iugo when I was able to recruit Yume and Gigina, so you can get him sooner then the castle thing. I havent even got to that point yet and Im 10 hours into the game.
Super helpful breakdown. Kuroto was the main one I did a double take on as his speed was so good while also having heavy armor, shield slot and access to water rune. Good to know charge up is totally busted. Is offensive magic actually worth it? It seems better to save MP for healing.
just a matter of do i kill them quickly to prevent death? or do i prevent death so i can kill them slowly? just a numbers game i guess on which gets you the win quicker
People think Multi-hitter are better than Single hitter. The last number pop up is the total damage shown after all hit. If multi-hit with numbers 20+50, thats mean the total damages are 50 after all hit, not 70.
who are these people you are talking about, never seen anybody that thinks what you typed is a thing. People also think Yusuke is some god character, when hes just an early game beast that turns C tier end game.
Iugo is the Rikimaru of Suikoden 2, Big sword, always drunk and have a vague mission. "Rikimaru is out for revenge" and Iugo is in a mission...to kill someone? Also he feels like Richard from Suiko 5
Absolutely agree with all these! Personally I like using Kougan for his tankiness and unique rune; while it costs 4 sp he starts with 2 so there is chance he can use it first turn. He is slow with it however.
There is a Dwarf that has charge up as well.... and I'm curious if you can put the slash rune on him... it can be put on Iugo and Noah so I imagine you can which would give him access to 2x charge up 5 sp nuke of iugo If you can then you could get 3 sp on him and Yusuke, then charge up on each, have Francesca and Falward both fire enchant or some element enchant each for more damage, next turn double charge up and use Falward + Francesca hero combo for an aoe heal + 3 turn damage boost, then next turn use Yusuke's sp move for massive damage and Dwarf's slash tactical nuke You could take it a step further and have your other 2 characters buff them with 2 more elemental enchantments each if they stack
Hello, I don't understand how "yoke" works, dodging and attacking never works for me, I don't know if it's a bug, but I activate the ability and they attack another character or they attack him but he doesn't perform the counterattack.
the only bad thing about Luc is short range attack. So either he gotta be in the front row, or using a rune that lets him attack from back row (forgot the rune name)
Falward is also a very high speed character . His light magic shield that prevents all damage on a character has saved my bacon many times . Right now my falwards speed is 191 to Kuroto 180 .
I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, so I figured I'd drop this tidbit here where it might get around. You can actually remove Nowa and other locked characters and put them in the "attendant" slot, freeing up those spots for whoever you want to put on. I haven't run into any story limits yet, but I haven't tested much.
I'm not saying Iugo's stats are bad, but I am saying that his stats are misleading. One thing to consider is his defend action is replaced by Taunting Counter, which seems to not only not really change aggro significantly much but also doesn't reduce damage taken by half like most people's defends. Because of this in boss encounters where defending is desirable he's depending on those raw, higher stats. It was really noticeable on hard against the trio in the castle ruins when spike of flails was being used. Other front liners would take 40 and he always took mid 70s no matter what action.
@@degreeskelvin3025 It works, but its pretty rare. SPECULATION TIME: I think he's upping his dodge rate and when it succeeds he counters. I only assume this because anytime his counter activates, its more like a hamedo where he takes no damage and interrupts them with a strike. I've also seen it proc multiple times in a round, but again, rare. My assumption/guess that his dodge increases is because I've never had this guy dodge a hit in his life but suddenly he's capable of doing 1/4 counters in the stance.
For me, the 6 strongest team was 1. Iugo + Warrior Pinnacle rune 2. Dijkstra free boost for allies damage 3. Shixeen free boost and ignore armor 4. Lam with full attack 5. Momo strongest Rune Lens User + Mage Pinnacle Rune 6. Falwalrd/Isha for balancing the heal and attack
I find Iugo's taunting counter doesn't actually change aggro, or if it does it hasn't been noticeable. I've seen Lian and Francesca targeted more than Iugo when he uses his skill.
At first, I thought Yusuke is probably shit cuz he's a generic looking Japanese yakuza thug. Then I tried his Charge skill and ends up casually doing 200 damage at Level 12.
This is my party in hard mode: For early game bring: Nowa, Iugo, Yusuke, Kuroto, Kogen, Falward/Fransesca/Zabi For mid game bring: Nowa, Yusuke, Lam, Hakugin, Falward/Fransesca/Gieran/Milana/Carrie For end game bring: Nowa, CJ, Yuferius, Yusuke, Momo, Isha (Reyna alternative) For end end OP Party: Nowa, Leene, Djikstra, Momo, Isha, Milana Note: at end game Im not yet explore other late recruitment character that can combat bcs my end game party already OP.
Iugo never counter or taunt when i'm using that defence. It's odd. Lian has 180 luck at lv34 and Garr literally tank everything with his S armor + over the roof PD and MD. Falward is prety speedy and has solid stats across the board. He's good to be the main healer in your team.
It just kinda sucks d best heal is under 3sp but i think its worth to use the doctor and francesca. U kinda get the doctor early and u just need herbs to get him. Their hero move 3sp has aoe heal for at least 200? And buffs attks and spell damage
1: Yusuke - His two turn charge hits harder than anything else in the game likely due to grapple attacks by-passing armour . 2: Celia - Can get her technically right after recruiting Kurtz using Omelette and Coconut Water recipes (as 1st and 3rd dishes) with a little luck. Just takes waiting 10 minutes between rounds and access to the Sea Cavern. 3: Iugo - Taunt plus 5SP nuke. Needs a counter Rune later on to really be an effective tank. 4: Francesca - Super slow so she can heal up the damage at the end of each turn. Her "low hp" can be off-set with an HP rune or accessory. Hilarious personality. 5: Falward - Faster than Kuroto awesome magic stat. His attacks also scale off magic so the more he has the more he hurts with his light element pew pews. Fran and Falward have a combo that's an AoE heal plus damage buff that only costs 3 SP meaning you save on MP costs for healing AND buffing which is worth way more than your two mediocre mage choices.
I’ve only just started the game, but I found that hilmi’s heal spell always makes her go first. I assumed that was a mechanic. Does that not remain true for other healing spells?
@@Zeioth very very good. I keep them in my party. Havent found another 2 combo team that is as powerful but I havent been through the game or have all the charcters yet. I do know the combo is really really good for boss battles. Plus Frans starts with a water Rune or I gave her one. cant remember. So she can heal the party as a single action as well.
I think that hero combo is very powerful. I havent decided if its worth it to run the two weaker characters to make it work though. Very possible it is even if 3sp is a lot.
@purplatypus7405 yes. I have been running it ever since. But I am assuming mid game so haven't ran them at end game. I don't mind 2 mages on the team. One I have set up to heal. The other kept the light rune to side heal and giving him a fire rune or atk spell rune. Francesca isn't a good melee but Falward isn't bad at melee. Plus his melee stuns quite frequently. So far. I haven't minded it. But at end game may switch it up.
my personal favorite characters: - Hakugin : Super fast, Long range, great physical damage and high luck for crits. Defense and magic resistance are okay, not too bad. I give her Prevention Rune and she literally 90% stun mob with his normal attack early in a battle turn. Also she got the kunai attack skill which is only 2 SP, devastating damage to front row mobs. - Milana : Her last special rune is insane for boss fight. Only requires 3 SP and will auto attack the enemy for the next 3 turns for crazy damage. Her stats are also above average IMO. - Lam : this nanny has the same traits as Hakugin. In addition her transformation rune thing is madness, only 1 sp (also attacking when you cast it), and will last quite a long time. Note that during transformation, she also got bonus physical attack and speed. mammamia.
@@anjanisaraswati it's in a chest top right area, the small separated part). you get there by using the flower thingy in the.. ugh hard to explain without picture lmao.
Lam is my powerhouse too! She does damage more than Yusuke and Iugo, and I already equipped the later two with Might Power/Power/Tremendous Power I haven't explored Hakugin yet, but from what you said, she seems very promising!
@@gustofthewinddance what i commented there was during mid-game progress ahaha. during late game you will find crazier characters, such as: - Momo: Insane magic stats, also got a lot of high magic runes slot in his skills. - Reyna: A must have tank for your front-liner, truly unbreakable. her only weakness is magic resistance, which you can counter with passive runes and gears :) - Isha: pretty similar to Momo, just a tad faster and she got exclusive skill which is awesome to deal damage to mobs in a row.
kinda, her guard isnt guarenteed, and it only works against single target physical attacks, the 5 mage thing doesnt work as well when you have a front row physical cleave to contend with. You dont need her for a strat like that anyway, far better to just bring along a speed bot to throw out earth shard 5s for damage immunity for 3 turns.
Hakugin is a beast, She's long range with very high speed and physical damage. and Isha is a much better mage than Gieran , Very High speed and higher magic attack plus has one of the best hero combos in the game
I'm trying to force the team I want. Its so rough how bad Mio is. I think she is meant to go luck and gamble for one shots. But that's useless against bosses where all the challenge is.
Mio one shotted the female golem in the proving grounds for me. So maybe a luck build is d way to go? She really is paper for a front line. After the golem fight i benched her for sabine.
@@Senumunu havent tried on any other boss than the one in the proving ground. But if its normal mode i guess mio shouldnt be an issue as a staple member
Agreed. I am guessing I am a little more than halfway through the game (almost level 50) and basic physical attacks for some of my characters do way more dmg than 100 mp level 6 spells. Crazy.
Momo can do 800-200 dmg with inferno pillar (100 mp) With right rune and equipment his magic stat can reach 500 at lvl 65 And magic affinity makes dmg output different, like milana only best with dark rune, except that her magic is so so
Luck increases the possibility of rare item drops by enemies once you defeat them. I use a character with high luck status when I want a specific item to be found
Iugo is not better than the Garr whos more balanced gets a strength buff off his skill attack and the armor stats make him very tanky. Lian is a better option than Kuroto for the unite with Nowa, and her second skill attack does crit damage regularly, she can stun lock with the rune buff attached, and she's hard to hit with physical attacks. Only one he hit the nail on the head for was Yusuke he's OP (flame god with the charge).
Momo, Leene, Mellore, Isha, Milana -- Elektra Nowa CJ Marisa Lakian top 5/10 IMO, nothing wrong with your list, they are just early-mid game scaling stat wise and fall off later on. I have a personal love for Reyna despite her late game damage fall off.
Isn't mio super fast ? I mean she's absolutely trash but I think she might be faster then kuroto I might be wrong I didn't lol kuroto and I lvled mio and she was hitting 180ish
on my playtrough, lv 18 Mio One-hit Kill Ancient Seed Boss with 1,6K Damage. I buff her with 3rd spell fire rune & accumulate SP to increase her damage.
Mio sucks at the endgame. Just invest another character. Im at the endgame already and she sucks. Iugo still beast until endgame Yusuke can be replaced by sharkguy later.
Mio is kinda strange. Her STR is slightly below average, but her MAG stat is above average for a frontline character. And she definitely exels with her SPD. She does very well as a caster-hybrid in that aspect since she also comes with a decent amount of MP to back it up. A WindRune on her seems quite effective, due to the moderate SingleTarget Heal and the AllEnemies + All Allies Dmg/Heal which scales off of her MAG-stat.
I take Sabine over Iugo any day of the week. I find his taunt counter to basically be a waste of a turn, meanwhile shes got solid all round stats and can be strapped with a water or air rune for emergency sub healing if needed. I dont see any reason to run Iugo. Karuto is a beast though, hes great. only just got Falward, looking forward to putting a water rune on him cause i find light rune ass personally.
My front row is nowa, iugo (because absolutely busted), marues (cant remember exact name but hes the guy who is a 'physical mage' he hits like a truck and has a 1sp self buff) back row is zabi, Francesca (only use her healing wave magic and give her an increase stun rune and something to increase speed and laugh as she stuns just about anything she hits... plus big damage buff for 5sp) and momo (absolutely busted actual mage)
Zabi, Kuroto. You're either joking, high af or both. 😂😂😂 personaly id drop both and Gieran too. Mellore is a far better mage by like 100x. Zabi's leader Kogen has a free AOE attack with skill points, blunt attacks to wreck armor and decent defense. Gar is leagues better than Kuroto. He gets shields so gains armor and can tank pretty much anything if you put the armored rune on him (+50% armor) but also hits fairly hard. The only thing Zabi and Kuroto are good for is telling jokes to Perrielle that i kicked out my party asap for being hot banta poodoo 😂😂
Falward as the best mage probably and Lam is perhaps the best overall character from the first 100 at least. Lam is strong and fast, pretty good defense and a good special rune.
Iiugo on early is so useless, but when you unlock his runelens, he is pretty much best nuker in the game. But the downside when you use his rune, the casting is pretty slow
The runelens is fine but still not as strong as Yusuke's damage. But for an all around beefcake he is super strong. Just not as op as the broken Yusuke
Damn, Sabine didn't even got mentioned. That's rough. Here's what I experienced so far. Garr: very tanky frontliner, packs a punch, his Rune nukes and boosts his ATK up for 3 turns, useful for extended fights; very slow however Francesca: actual physical DPS, brings the pain, MAG is only average in exchange however and man, she's squishy like no other, but she'll be one of your attackers instead of hitting like a wet noodle, which makes her very interesting Yuthus: actual problem-solver, true guardian, can tank reliably for teammates (for example for Francesca), which opens up more team-comps; will be overlooked because boy with shield is not cool Mellore: is decent allround, has a MAG based nuke for 2SP, which adds up over extended fights and is a great filler in between MP-based spells Sabine: very flexible fighter, has all-around above average stats and can equip and make use of spells effectively; feels like the first 'Killey'-version of the game Mio: somewhat of an oddball; doesn't come with the raw stats a frontline wants/needs, instead packs slightly below STR and above average MAG which makes her a functioning hybrid-caster with high SPD stats Yume/Friend: gains high DEF/MDEF stats, HP however are only slightly above average? Considering she takes up two slots she might be a very beefy frontliner (but there are better options I reckon); a bit disappointing on first glance? her personal rune costs 4SP and is a high physical nuke Oh, and I haven't leveled Gigina yet, actually curious about that fella.
4 of those characters are spoken about on my worst list I released today. I do think Francesca might be viable but on hard mode she gets SLAPPED frequently in one hit.
