My exact sentiments! I have the Scorpius in 14/16 and both of the MUVN 16x/13S. I’m drawn to the 13 S and have been experimenting with a bit of weight at 3/9°clock and a small bit at 5/7°clock Really loving it and it’s the first I grab.

I have both the 13s and the 16v. I probably have 10 plus paddles currently and I typically carry 3 in my bag. I can’t remember a time in the past say, 12 months, that one of the Gruvn paddles hasn’t been in my bag. I had a brief affair with the Katana Komodo.but she doesn’t dance as well as she promises to. More recently I’ve been flirting with the Paddletek 14.3 but she’s a bit on the argumentative side so she’s currently in time out! Mostly I play with the 16v and let the others stew in their jealousy. Ultimately, it benefits them. These Gruvn paddles are fantastic and play every bit as well as any of the “big boy” paddles. 😎😎😎

Glad to see reviews like this. We are about to see a flood of new paddles released for holiday shopping. As you pointed out, the quality of paddles is really good now and many come from the same factories. The hype for new paddles will be high but if you can live without a signature from one of the pros on your paddle you can still find really good paddles without paying the marketing premiums. Get to know your local pros. Many have rep relationships and allow you to demo the paddles.

This is an excellent paddle! Agree with everything you said. Combo of control, pop, hand speed makes it stand out from almost any other paddle. Stock grip is excellent as you noted.

I have the Raw16e control paddle.Been playing with it for last 2 yrs. This paddle hardly shows wear at all, and i average about 10 hrs a week with it. This paddle does it all,,im a banger at will or or a soft game player within a moments time, my 3rd shots are great with this paddle and will get the same paddle when this one meets its fate. Freaking awesome paddle!

How are six zero doing now? i see you dont bring those up in comparison to other padles like ronbus or volair etc? Has their quality gone down?

I just haven't hit with them recently and i keep on being told that they have been tweaking their paddles a little bit and I don't want to use them as comparison if that is the case. People still tell me that the 6zero paddles are performing well for them though

Been playing here and there with 16S and occasionally whip out the 16H. I play them both stock and have been pretty happy with them

How do you think the 13X will compare to the 13S? Will the elongated paddle change anything?

I think it plays a bit softer as it has more flex in the throat. I personally would choose the 16X over the 13X

With the 13s paddle what am I looking at in terms of transition zone defense?

You’ll be quick to make contact with the ball and pretty stable off half volley and blocks but don’t expect to get your resets perfect on the first round. You may have to defend multiple attacks since the 13mm core can be a bit poppy and can float the ball a bit high
