Fire Blankets are a very good way to kill a small fire quickly. Also reuseable. Plus Not near the MESS as spraying is..
@perstaffanlundgren
@perstaffanlundgren 3 месяца назад
Powder exintshers = garanited powder cleaning if used, if not cleaned up -Bye bye electronic stuff. And causee corrosion on metal ( but not dangerous for the environment). A serous Co2 extinguishing as first solution (in electrical installations computer rooms powder is a no go) ,if this is not enough use powder- messy as hell , on fibrous material water work very well and is a" clean" method. . Or a foam extinguisher -will have to be cleaned up after (will not corrode metals doe) . There are oil resistant foam and non oil resistant foam. The oil resistant foam is very much less environmentally friendly, so on fibrous materials use the non resistant type. The fire fighters don't want to use foam if the other alternative- water is enough. Prior habits of using foam on house fires has been found to seriously pollute wells and ground water .

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector? I would recommend one for the living room AND the crawl space with the generator. These things are not that expensive and can save life's.

I was wondering when you would put up a new video, your big boat/ barge, is looking good. I would look at mounting your generator , on marine engine mounts, rubber ropes / bike tubes will not cope with the weight. I commend you and the live aboard people for helping you neighbour buy a new boat to live on, well done ,. And it's nice to see your lovely lady, and the pup.

Having watched you since your first boat venture, as a 55 year old engineer who has lived in boats, vans, buildings, (and i currently live in a 7.5 ton truck with my harley) that you are doing just fine. Really good to see your fabricating and problem solving ideas evolve and a lovely journey to be taken on. Thankyou for that. Also, as a vinylist DJ and lover of Techno, i am a little bit envious of how perfectly your set up suits my kind of life style. Really inspiring. Welcome back. Good neighbor community. Lots of generator vibration, noise and eventual heat. Maybe bolt down to fixed anti vibration floor pads. Enclosuring the area with removable insulated doors. Cabin heat makes for a comfortable winter livable space.

the best thing for the stove pipe would be a 45° bend coming out of the wall behind the stove and restoring the corrugated panels on the roof, for the rest you've really made a lot of progress I've been following you since the first video where you were looking for the boat in that species of landfill, congratulations
@perstaffanlundgren
@perstaffanlundgren 3 месяца назад
Or they can make a cover plate (like a c section) from side to side of the roof sitting in the groves on both sides of the section that is cut open where the pipe is . basically narrow roof over the roof where the pipe is in this plate. a water tight flange is installed in the and plate and the pipe treaed through it , as you do above and below ta pipe shimny on house . Because it's in a roof joint I think this will be the best method cutting in the joints like that messes up the water profnes ,its hard to seal when there is two plates meeting with hole in the intersection.

Consider some fire suppression equipment around the generator. It is totally contained below deck and very difficult to reach quickly. The fire suppression equipment should be remotely controlled, if not automated. There should be CO detectors near both the generator and in the living area near the furnace.

Take the corrugated tin off 3. Go to reframe 4. Strengthen the surrounding area with ceramic insulation; ceiling/roof Before reinstalling the corrugated tin. 5. Install corrugated tin. My apologies, I oversimplified, you're highly motivated and intelligent and seemingly understand what needs be done. My first thought was you should have put a 90 degree elbow in and ran it out the side wall instead of the roof. It would have been much easier to seal against rain. It looks like it would have fit between the frame at the top of the wall.
