I 100% agree but he’s also said in streams that at the end of the day he doesn’t know any of us personally and can only care about us to an extent. Which I think is completely reasonable, but the way he phrases it is so funny

I honestly believe that's why he's as big as he is. He has great ideas, which a lot of people do, but not many of those people have the ability to speak off the cuff in such a voice that sounds like he is telling a story every time he talks. Speaking that well will get you followed by a lot of people no matter what you do, so thankfully he turned it into a career that entertains many people.
I appreciate this a lot. I have been getting a lot of feelings the past few weeks that I really need to get into streaming for my own sake not because it's a good idea or its cool but because it's something I have tried in the past and thoroughly enjoyed. I don't know if I will make it big, but I know I am going to have some fun getting into this seriously. Good luck everyone else who is going to actually try this. I sincerely hope you are all following your hearts and do something you end up loving for a living. Maybe do what you love and document it by doing RU-vid and Twitch.
I literally was about to get to the part of the vid where it said quit and then 10 seconds before i saw it, i paused the video and wrote down goals in 1 year. 10 seconds later i felt lucky.
@@Squidmoto3 Dream planned his youtube channel and predicted his growth and he's helped countless other channels with growth. For instance, Fundy, a friend of his, followed his strategy and he's explosive growth, to say the least. He's done this to other channels and they have had similar growth.
"Just start" is some of the best advice I've ever received and it came from an old video of Lud's. I had been writing my own novel for around 9 months when I heard it and realized just waiting until the book was perfect wouldn't get me anywhere. 4 months later and my novel is in the top 0.0004% of the website it is posted on. To take risks you have to take them.
I think we all envy the streamer life but not everyone has the makings of one, it takes charisma, a tough skin, and a degree of narcissism to actually enjoy the attention.

Gonna be honest, I've actually been studying and watching a lot of 'how to grow as a content creator' stuff, and wow, this was way better and more insightful than pretty much anything I have seen.
I honestly appreciate his sincerity. He's giving actual useful advice, and I respect him for it. The biggest thing seems to be that you have to take action, you have to start and stay consistent. Which is why he said if you didn't even take a minute to write down you goals etc, you might as well give up. Success is a lot of small actions that accumulate.
That's definitely the dream but it's actually even more unachievable. You have less time and energy to be thinking of new ideas, streaming, editing, etc., and you probably aren't gonna be any better at making content than someone who's full-time (you'll probably be worse at it tbh). Atrioc is one of the luckiest of the luckiest, and a massive amount of his success is from being close friends with Ludwig and also for spawning a creative and funny community on his subreddit.

I loved the bit about starting strong in a community you're part of, with yours being the Super Smash Bros Melee scene. As one of the 1000 people who got into the Arknights community a year and a half ago, and relatively kept up with the game and the lore (main reason why I started playing), that creates some credibility, and insight as to how the game has grown since release, which makes for a good starting ground. Big thanks for all the tips, this has been such a major help!

Watched the stream and honestly, it made me want to stop my no effort streaming, did my first "effort" / "stakes" stream and it did so much better than my other ones. Hopefully the video does as good when I get it done, really appreciate you doing this! ludwig7
Hey man. Can you explain a bit to me what "effort" / "stakes" actually means? Like for example "Can I get past round 50 on zombies with using a pistol only?". Something like that I reckon. Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question but I'm also kinda dumb lol.
@@leonardochatzinas4932 effort is a bit subjective of a topic but I do know that stakes are something similar to that of a "carrot on a stick" where it gives the viewers insentive to keep watching the vid/stream, the "carrot" can be a reward or a punishment as long as by the end of the vid/stream or throughout it the viewers get to eat the "carrot" you would have successfully implented stakes on your content. For example "if I laugh I give $1000 to charity." (It doesn't have to be implicitly stated as long as it is present in the vid/stream) That kind of deal.
This was actually a very good guide for someone who has been thinking about streaming but doesn't know what to stream/how to do it. Thank you for making this video, even though I am a year behind I found this very helpful on to get started and hopefully I can figure out the rest on my own.
Real talk, I look to Lud to model after bc he did an amazing job at creating structure in his streams. “ALRIGHT BOYS! Today, the PLAN IS SIMPLE” he sets out list of activities, and I don’t want to miss a second of it from the intro to the raid. I come back to almost ever steam that I can (unless it’s Marketing Monday).
I'm coming back to this video because of technos passing. He really was an inspiration to me and I realized I just have to start streaming and doing youtube, there's never a good time to start. I think something important here is: 1. Growing a stream starting off as a "nobody" is almost impossible as of now without the help of collabs and algorithm based apps such as Facebook, RU-vid, and TikTok. Use those to help your brand grow. 2. Your content sucks. Not even in a bad way but it sucks. EVEN MY CONTENT SUCKS. But if you stick to learning, getting better, and provide quality content, eventually you will make good stuff. Then who knows, you just might be the next Cooter.
Literally was at a blank to what to do next on my twitch channel since I just reached affiliate. This rite here hit home and spoke volumes to me personally. Love the content super educational and worth the whole watch.
One tip as a small streamer that has recently found success is to start out in a niche that you are passionate about and creating your own community within that community (channel discord for example)

Go live on RU-vid for a total of 12 hours (doesn't have to be all in one sitting) doing what you do with a note on screen that says "1k sub goal! (Current subs)/1000" and you'll reach or be very close to your goal by the end of those 12 hours, also buy a little bit of Google adworks advertising for a few days or weeks
I watched this video the other day, and I'm watching it again today. Really want to take that shit in. Really wanting to edit for a living, and seeing as how streaming is going to be the best way to generate things to edit, seems like the wisest choice to start. It's always comforting to see guides like this coming from people who obviously know what they're doing. As much as I may not vibe with his content, Ludwig made a fucking solid guide and really made some good points in this video. He also said some weird shit that doesn't make sense here and there (at one point he's talking about how certain streamers got raided by bigger streamers and didn't grow at all, then goes on to say later that raids and hosts aren't big contributors to success...), but aside from that, I seriously feel like this is an amazing starting point, coming from someone who is successful at the thing they're talking about. Maybe I can replicate some of the success seen in these comments. Maybe not. Time will tell.
To be fair, I don't watch streamers but I watch every single one of Ludwigs videos because he's straight up charismatic. Being just as charismatic as he is puts you above all but maybe 3 streamers and that's definitely good enough
This video has been incredibly informational! I especially loved the idea of streaming in segments for youtube videos. I wasn't sure about if i could stream but Ludwig here has given me lots of ideas :) that thing about collab is soooo true too. I would have never known about Ludwig if he never collabed with Connor from trash taste.
29:06 is a major truth. Stanz raided my stream the other day and I went from 50 to 620 viewers, and man did I feel like I was caught with my pants around my ankles.
I love ludwig because he's actually smart as hell and knows the RU-vid game inside out. Had a rocky start to RU-vid in 2021 with the harsh realisation that Minecraft is the most oversaturated niche ever and just making great and unique content and promoting it well is not enough to make it. (luck is also needed amongst persistance etc). 2022 we coming for it baby and i'm ready as all hell to blow up. Here's hoping everyone who reads this has some good luck and a merry christmas!
I got really demotivated because I thought I made a banger video that I spent like 20 hours on and it performed poorly (500 views which is good for my channel but I want to blow up not just grow steadily for like 3 years straight and I thought my content deserved some RU-vid luck. However, this failure made me realise that RU-vid is not all about being unique or making the best content possible at least at the beginning which kind of sucks because I want to be creative with what I make and not just make the same old generic content. This led me to thinking I have to play the RU-vid game to blow up for Minecraft and make some quite frankly shitty ass videos like SoFloAntonio or all those Minecraft youtubers you might see that just steal content ideas and get millions of views. I think that's the main problem with RU-vid in general, that this kind of shitty ass content idea stealing is rewarded while unique new series' that might be fresh to some viewers are buried instantly because they don't fit the already boring mould. :( I'm just gonna keep trying to make my thing work and hopefully my luck can pull through and being original can pay off in the long run.

I streamed back when twitch first started and I had roughly 500 people to tune in every night. I got banned on twitch for streaming diablo 3 when it came out and never went back. Lmao

I can second that as a Partner, you really need to use RU-vid to survive and go full time. I might look small, but I am that 0.6% that "made" it. Trust me, it's even tough with 150+ average viewers. Good luck, kids.
@@vanillacurry Beginning to Affiliate took a month. Growth is slow early but if you're making the right connections and building an audience and following beyond just Twitch, it's a lot easier. Then a year later I had my partner application in but didn't stream enough because I was only part time so got rejected. Then in April 2020 I took the leap into full-time, quadrupled my video and stream output, and in turn blasted my analytics through the roof. Was partnered in no time. So basically, lay down your fundamentals first, then start focusing on quantity without losing the quality. All too often I see people stream for hours on end and make daily uploads but getting no viewers all because the content quality is poor. Master quality before you master quantity. But then you need to embrace quantity to "go to the moon".
@@MKxJUMP Are you a full-time streamer? If so, how is it that you can be at your size? You’re not small, but not big either. What made you be able to go full-time? Subs on Twitch, donations? Or ad rev from youtube and twitch?
@@jimkillerx a combination of all the income streams (but mainly RU-vid) are how you go full-time. I realised I made more money putting hours into my channel than putting hours in a minimum wage job, and it just grew from there. Channels that have 100k+ views a video and upload daily make A LOT of money. People don't realise just how much you can make from RU-vid. So scale it down to myself who has 22,000 average views a video, that's still over $100 a video. Combine with that Twitch income, Patreon, Donations, Sponsors as you can make a fair amount.

Honestly I think over half of my high school is like "yo I want to be a youtuber yo I want to be a streamer" but they have no idea what the work is like or what the statistics are like and this video coul ddissapoint them or at least make them realize that you gotta put in work.
The reason I want to be a streamer is the thought that I can help people. That I can help thousands of people from terrible situations by giving them happiness and a distraction.
I started streaming because I wanted to do something that would require 1000 plus hours in a game, and wanted to document the process while potentially meeting new people

Honestly, I’ve loved gaming since the mid 90’s and I’m still a heavy gamer, even my wife plays games like Diablo with me. My joints are just getting bad and going to work every day is becoming physically painful. I’d just like to do something I can enjoy, eventually (hopefully) make enough to live on, I dont meed to be a millionaire. I play games anyway, so why not try to monetize my hobby? I dont need to be the biggest and best, just successful enough to live off of and not feel like I’m falling apart.

i’ve been streaming consistently for about a month now- i’m an art streamer and so it’s a little bit different for art stuff. the biggest people in the category are very small in comparison. im going to have to think more about how to do “segment” streams with art content.
Wow, thank you so much, I have seen disguised toast talking about this and I have to say, it seems like approaching it by making videos first is the most important. (or get lucky and someone shout you out or raid you). Got to dial down on the streaming hours and actually think of good content instead of live streaming nothing.
