Don't Starve Together Guide: Wendy [REWORKED] 

First hotfix for the update: forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/116601-game-update-400698/ Few more things folks, some additional notes and another heads up really; We can use Abby's flower on herself to "call back" Abigail until further notice while gaining some sanity along the way! And note that again, a lower health Wendy means more damage for Abigail so that combined with the choleric tonic could potentially lead to upwards of 70 damage which is... still not as great as you might think... Third thing, use heals on flower in inventory to avoid getting stomped out there potentially. Fourth thing, ghost are now non-hostile to Wendy so great stuff there! I'll be honest, this is by far the weakest rework in my mind. I really like the pipspook stuff and I'm sure I'll love the skins when we look at them tomorrow however my hope rested on the buffs and I believe Klei missed the mark HARD on them. Oh my gosh Abigail emotes with you when you emote. That’s so adorable.

I love some of her dialog, like when she examines rope, “ the easy way out” and when she tries the tall tell heart “ why dose it not work Abigail?”

Don't forget the most important part in the short story animated Jack Carter! Look how Wendy's father look similar to Maxwell (William Carter), which means that Wendy's father must be Jack, this truly confirms and seals the lore that Maxwell is Wendy's uncle

I think if you could stack the different elixirs it would help a lot.

I honestly struggle to figure out how Klei entertainment made a character without pupils look not horrifying

Been messing with the update for a little while now and here are some tidbits. 1. If Wendy has around 20-30 health, Abigail can almost solo frog rain. 2. Abigail + bush hat or snail armor thing is awesome. You can sit at 1 hp and watch her roll over lesser to mid-level mobs. 3. With a high degree of skill, you can toggle on and off her aggro mode to make her kite enemies, including big bads. It's hard but it's awesome. 4. The sisturn sanity aura is op. She is way more fun now, highly recommend trying her

abigail : grows stronger, the lower wendy's health is beard : absolutely lovely ... also beard : careful though

Abby's attack animation has those ghostly wisps flying around her. It looks like the attack animation of Ghost Pepper, from the Plant vs. Zombies 2 game.

Is nobody going to mention that wholesome little dance Abigail does at the end when wendy is dancing?

My friend who mains Abigail I mean wendy loves this rework the moment he saw it and agrees with most of the changes.

She hasn't been out for a day, yet you already have a Wendy Reworked Video. That's some dedication to Don't Starve Also as a Wendy Main I tank this Rework of Wendy and Abigail a: 8/10. There are some mechanics that I think should be different, including the "Vigor Mortis" item. I think it should do something else as well

i really got my hopes up with the potions and abi „resetting“ when she dies i thought they would be a cooler version of wx with gears, turns out the potions are useless and only thing that resets is her health which you can gain back so quickly

Welp time to start playing wendy i guess, always liked her personality but never her mechanics but now it looks pretty nice

Wendy was my most favourite character in dst and I'm happy she finally became balanced

I said that I thought this rework would live and die by Wendy's new craftable Abby buffs and I think I was right. On one hand I *really* appreciate the fact that Wendy's still recognisable and essentially has just become stronger instead of a complete overhaul like Woodie got. On the other, I still think that Abby needs to be more useful against boss enemies and should've gotten an Elixir focused around such purposes instead of still being the best™ at the _very specific_ situation of clearing trash mobs. IMO Klei shouldn't have created several Elixirs for combat purposes and tried to balance them out, but instead should've made several Elixirs for different purposes for Abby. Here's one that makes her snag items for you and take them back to you (or maybe even gives her a backpack), here's one that removes her AoE in exchange for more health and damage (so, bossfight mode), here's one that increases her light aura, gives her an insulation aura, increases her passive health regen and lasts permanently until the next elixir for general-purpose survival, and so on.

I don't know how I feel about her low health mechanics. I love the idea, but it doesn't seem like enough to me as a trade-off. I would have also liked a system similar to wx78's, where you can upgrade her with an item. Actually, that urn is perfect, just tweak it so you could add items into it to enhance the ghost's stats. This even balances itself out because of the cost of the weapons. Something like the spear is only slightly stronger, while the dark sword would bring her up to 60. Though that might be too strong with armor, you could just amp up the cost with specific ghost items made from the normal equipment and morning glories.

Still can'tbring abby back with a tell tale heart. Real sad hours.

I did the math... Its a little rough and in need of polish, but its pretty close with how I made it. X is Wendy's HP, The result is Abigail's damage. (0.001819x^2)-(0.5431x)+(60.54)

I tried to play as her today. Man, what a ride. Just at the beginning of my run I found two spots with clockworks, a spot with a bunch of killer bee hives and Bee Queen, a Dragonfly desert, a biom with many ponds, a swamp, a cemetery, got into a fight with three Poison Birchnut trees, and that's just most that I can remember. I'm shocked, did I just get lucky or something went wrong here?

As someone who’s new to don’t starve, I’m loving Wendy

I want Wendy to see Abigal in her human form when at low sanity, it makes sense and would lead to fun dancing and possible extra dialogs.

She can catch birds sometimes without the speed boost. The reason to craft a second flower is for Abigail's reskins.

I honestly think the defense potion is bugged. I've tested every combination imaginable with a friend and it doesn't seem to do anything at all. Other than that we've also tested abi against hounds, splumonkeys and the queen bee herself with a low health Wendy running around and I've gotta say I'm impressed. Abigail can singlehandedly deal with all bee queen spawns by herself (and the strong healing options used directly on the flower from a distance).

It's funny because when I was playing the update yesterday, I was like, " I wonder if Beard has a new video for me" 😂 (not just for me, duh)

Haven't anyone of you found wendy kinda op? Like she has 25% slower sanity drain, and pays for that with 25% less damage. She also has a ghost sister, who is incredebly strong aganist crouds, wrecking tier 3 spider dens and even taking hound waves with little to no help, and for this advantadge she pays off with... nothing. I've been thinking a lot about it lately and have come to a conclusion that some kind of a little stat nerf would be just perfect, preferably hunger going from 150 to 125 of smth like that. This change would make it a bit harder for players to manage her hunger, thus making the skill cap a bit higher, and balancing out the ghost advantadge without really changing too much. p.s. it even makes sense, smaller people tend to have smaller stormach. Like her examination quote for portable crock pot says: "For when hunger gnaws at my tiny stomach" or smth like that i don't really remember p.s.s i really just wrote a fricking whole ass essay, english is not even my native language💀

Vigor Morris is incredibly useful if you prop up Abigail next to a butterfly farm and egg her on You can rack up stacks of butterfly wings very quickly with that speed and the wide free roam. And hey, it makes butterflies even easier for farming Wortox souls than before

They don’t want Wendy to be a glass canon summoner (at least that’s what I got from these changes). The reason Wendy has a damage debuff in the first place is to force the player to take advantage of Abigail to make up the difference. These changes help Abigail survive longer against bigger mobs, allowing her to fulfill her role (from both a mechanical and storytelling standpoint) of being her sister’s equal in combat without limiting her usefulness to spider and be farming. Alone they aren’t as powerful as the other characters but when working together as a team they can fight just as effectively as them if not more so, depending on their opponent.

The shield potion gives her one a bubble that can take 1 attack without receiving any damage regardless of the attack, it restarts every 4 seconds i believe but it's pretty effective sometimes

I loved the rework, I watched Wendy's short animation when it came out and found it sweet. with that said I should try Wendy while playing by myself and also with my friend as we work well together (who's a good Wortox player), if my friend is up for more of DST.

As a Wendy main, it is about time. I like most of the changes, except maybe the suicide run damage output increase feels forced and I feel the HP for Abigail is still a bit low. Not sure if The Beard agrees with me on that. Wendy/Abigail have a special place in my heart for personal reasons and I'm sure they'll buff her up a bit!

I personally dont like many of the changes since I always felt like wendy was more of a beginer character to get used to the game but now she became more complex to play effectively. I felt her character was good for beginers who still could not kite properly to still be able to fight smaller mobs. I guess we have wilson to use as a starting character but its still different for people not used to fighting.

I have many mains and Wendy used to be one but now I just main Wortox, Webber, and Willow but I guess it is time to ad Wendy back to that list. And maybe Wurt once I finally get her.

I'm a Wendy main, and I love this new update and the new changes Klei brought, but I will have to adapt to the new damage system. Before, my role in my server was to gather monster meat via farming spiders with Abigail. I used to wait until night, grab some log armor and a miner's helmet, and I would use Abigail's 40 damage per hit to slaughter hordes of spiders. I don't exactly want to be at low HP all the time so I'm gonna have to figure out a better way. Still, thanks Klei! The new features are great and we got to see Abigail for the first time

Well good thing we have switchable aggressive/neutral modes and health to damage correlation, increased damage when fighting multiple enemies and the 'getting stronger over time' But honestly I expected a bit more from this whole ectoherbology stuff. Plus making her more useful against bosses.
