This is episode 11 of our It's Time to Run series which is our journey from selling our house to living on the road indefinitely. So far we have visited Arizona, Colorado, Utah, California, and Oregon! Stay tuned for where we go next...
In this episode we spend time in the Napa Valley area. We aren't big wine drinkers, but still wanted to see the beautiful vineyards. Napa Valley itself was nice, but I actually think we enjoyed Paso Robles more?? I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion on it ;). We really don't recommend staying in Fairfield to save some bucks though. IF you do want to stay in a more affordable area near Napa, I recommend the Hampton Inn and Suites Suisun City Waterfront. It is only a little more expensive, but is much safer.
Next we go on the Avenue of the Giants, we visit Eureka, and press on to Redding!
NOTE: We take full blame for choosing a not so great hotel or area to stay in while visiting Napa Valley. We are just giving full disclosure for those that are planning their trip to see the area and may want to find something more budget-friendly. As we said above, staying at the Hampton in Suisun City Waterfront is a better choice and where we would have stayed in hindsight. Definitely worth going if you love wine!

Gott's is one of the best burgers I've had. I usually go to the one in Palo Alto near my old place. I'm a photographer and I used to do wine tours in Napa and Sonoma.

I am really disappointed that you intended this as a review of Napa, but had little to say about it and then your bad experience in Fairfield threw shade on your Napa experience. Then, when you actually were in Napa Valley, the focus was on how your ice cream fell and that it was hot. Nothing about how cute the town was, nothing about how much nicer it was in every way than where you stayed ... not on the great food (which Napa is known for nearly as much as the wines). Kinda unfair. You can certainly enjoy much in Napa Valley without being wine people. Happy Trails.

Hi Gayle, thank you for commenting on our video and giving it a watch. I understand your perspective, however we are just a couple that was on an 8 month road trip that decided to document our journey. This isn't our job and it isn't intended to be a perfect review of every place we visit. It's simply our experience and something for us to look back on. We posted it on RU-vid so others can watch if they care to see how our experience was. We did like Napa, and we wanted to let others know that staying in Fairfield may not be the best option depending on your own preferences. Please keep in mind that vlog style videos will have silly things like the ice cream incident and such, which to us, is harmless fun. Sorry that it didn't meet your expectations. Please keep in mind in the future that some people that post on RU-vid are just having fun making free content (like us).
