I’m a fairly muscular male gogo dancer with decent control of my core that’s been trying to learn belly dance moves (inspired by Shakira) and sort of combine the feminine aspect of it with more masculine thrusts and body rolls for my dancing. I’ve been practicing for a couple months and trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. I agree this is good advice. I want to do some things the way Shakira does so badly and I feel strong enough to but the coordination is sooooo much harder than it looks. She’s clearly been doing it for years and years to look that good. If I do a hip drop or Maya even slightly wrong it looks super awkward but every once in a while I nail it in a really satisfying way with the music. Anyway, thanks for the videos!
