Inside its just a 12v battery - so plug into the 12v DC out port and it should be clean Whether or not its clean when its being charged or running the inverter dunno

Nice! I've noticed that the price/watt hour math is getting better. I think I paid about $300 for a 300wh unit a couple of years ago. Twice. That's $1/wh on those, and this works out to around 50 cents/wh. Excellent review Jason, thanks!

Nice unit. Not available here in Canada. Blue Yeti version about $1500 ( little less ). but not expandable. There is one system out there that will go up to 7Kw with 3 expansion packs. But those are huge bucks. Planning on some sort of unit, but it will take some saving. There is a nice 2Kw setup with 2 200watt solar panels for around $2500 that I like. I'm looking at that one. There is a smaller 1024w unit for $899 that I may get in the mean time as a temp system until I can afford a better unit.

Prices are decent , and the feature set ilooks pretty good . Sure you can build your own version , but these kind of packaged units have the benefit of slick integration and use of propriety hardware and software that is difficult to achieve on a DIY build , at least to the same degree . A built in SCC and , current limiting on the charging is a big selling point . Lithium cells will take all the current you can throw at em , which can kill your alternator . So charging them from a vehicle usually means you want a DC - DC converter in line to keep that magic smoke inside the alternator .

Agree. Just a 100Ah battery is ~$200 and then another $150-200 for the inverter in this unit. At that point we are already at $350-400 and still need more components and wiring. The price for this unit is fair at $499.
