The reason I'm addicted to internet, is because of lack of social skills. Somehow, being online sort of feel like im socializing. Hope some can relate.
yes, although I know that the PC can never be real social skilling but only social killing. Because the time you spend in the PC is stolen from your time with real ppl iRL. And the fake PC interaction weakens your feeling for real ppl , bereave you of the super-sensible energies of live people, and of having your own human energies being received by others. I very really feel a new human lack, which was confirmed by an energy therapist. Please start study and practise socializing before you cross the line where it is hardly possible anymore, We become strange in the end,and normal ppl shy away because we become void f human energy. People like healthy people, you see, even if the deprived, sick ones are really good inside behind the social lacks.
I totally relate, a little scary. But I take my online friendships seriously, although I have to wonder if my friends do . All we can do is choose to be a good friend, and endeavor to reach out more, face to face and online.
Money doesn't buy happiness. It buys you the means to happiness. People that say money doesn't matter or doesn't matter too much do not have real experience with hardships.
i here you buddy. I'm so broke i can't even afford the drunk part. This phone was issued to me by the government and my wifi service seems to be currently coming from "7 oak st" even though I'm doing my 3 hour sit down in front of starbucks before they eventually tell me to leave, thankfully i hunkered down in my hometown, which they would kick me out of, if everyone around here didn't look at me and go "omg, isn't that "x"'s kid, or just (ELI WHAT HAPPENED!), didn't he grow up here, man how far we can fall" and usually give me a few bucks. I have horrible mental illness and honestly the only reason I'm here is because many suicide attempts have failed. I don't believe in god but i sure believe in the devil. cuz i think im in hell

@@albertgeorgy6827 Its not that i didn't or have stopped trying.. I'm the perfect example of the conditions talked about in this video. My lack of work ethic mixed with my mental illness makes it so that even if i push through the mental pain of not wanting to work i then get physical symptoms such as sweating so much it looks like i just swam laps in a pool even my shoes start to fill with sweat, no amount of gold bond that i can afford stops this. I also break out in a rash and get these strange bumps all over my hands particularly between my fingers, imagine thousands of painful zits forming all over including your balls, asshole, and taint. So to the point even in the rare event someone lets me work for them i break down in physical pain whether i be lifting stuff in the back room or working at customer service or being a states youngest ever elected mayor. But as people point out "how can you be so aware of your problems yet not fix them" which is why i never get social security because i don't pester the police, i don't make a scene. I use public facilities to bathe. So i don't eventually get sent to the psych ward for just standing their blank eyed for weeks. Because I fit a fucked up niche in this world, I'm the story of how you can still come from wealth, a good family, have all the benefits in the world, but between mental illness and poor choices anyone can end up on the streets. Sugar addiction. Coca-cola was always kept on hand in my household growing up. We basically drank it like water. (You could say... we were a family of "coke" addicts.. har har..) Not surprisingly, we all grew up morbidly obese. It wasn't until my mid twenties that I started trying to change my habits. I've become much healthier since then, but the damage has still been done. It's still going to take a lot of time and dedication and thousands of dollars in dental and cosmetic surgery before I finally start looking like an acceptable looking human being. Even right now, I'm struggling internally with my want to go out and get a cherry pepsi. Don't let this happen to you or your kids. Drink water, eat well, use portion control, and make sure you're exercising. Obesity and addiction isn't pretty.
I sincerely applaud you on this. The fact that you were raised on it and are fighting against it says way more about you than what society or the info in this video is trying to pin you down as. Keep moving forward. You definitely got this.

9:28 I can confirm this. I have autism and have struggled since around my early teens with socialising and making meaningful bonds with people and have been pretty much alone for last 12 years or so. They should teach us everything about finances at school. This should be one of the most important topics in school. They don't do it. Why? I guess we all know it's happening on purpose.
Yeah no. It isn't as easy as it sounds. In many schools it's already being taught but teenagers being teenagers don't care and just see it as another annoying and unnecesary class. Those same teenagers usually are the adults who post things like "whY Didn'T scOoL tEaCH me tHIs!!1!!???"

For most people it has done more harm than covid ever could I bet. For me it was a blessing in disguise because I seriously needed to sort other things out and it gave me the time to do so, but it certainly must have really harmed a great many people (maybe even most people). No! No! It can't be! Not my video games and not my internet usage! Anything but those! Actually, video games and internet usage are just two of the many things that some people become addicted to. My dad was a recovering alcoholic who had 40 years of sobriety when he passed away. In the latter half of his life, he had a second career as a counseling psychologist specializing in the treatment of addiction. He told me that one of the things he learned was that it seems as though it's possible to become addicted to almost anything. One of his clients was addicted to reading. If this guy picked up a book and started reading while getting ready to go to work, he would not make it to work that day.

But I'm a firm believer that its all on me to blame for taking cheap escape routes in life. Dont do any drugs, cigarettes or snus, drink mildly and have fun in your lives. If you are in struggle, try to get over it, be free from addiction or whatever else is bugging you. When you get old that success will be your most valued memory.
In a Tom Clancy book I once read: "The nice things in life, are either immoral, illegal, or make you fat". Thanks for the great video. After a life of experiences the things you list looks sort of deja-vu, as learned, lived, and forgotten. The target that, in the end, didn't fall. But for many, possibly too many, in the midst of those horrible situations, your overarching description of one's mind weaknesses, can effectively help many in the middle of precarious situations. The real question is, where do you find the right people to form a relationship with. It seems like as you get older it becomes harder to form new friendships.
OO OO that’s not exactly true. I found all my friends with just letting it happen. I was not looking desperately for friends. Its not about being alone. I enjoy my alone time as well. Its more about having no real friends you can connect with on topics, hobbies or idealogies etc that are important to you. You dont have to see this people all the time and they should understand that you enjoy being alone from time to time but trust me if they really are the kind of people that are compatible with you you will actually meet and see them quite often - relatively speaking - just cuz you like their company. I had a big friend clique but they all just drained my energy... none of them really shared my interests, world views, had nothing to offer me intellectually, didnt understand that i dont want to hang out all day every day, etc. So i cut them all off - except for one other guy who basically did the same. So we were 2 best friends but we told us into our faces that "we arent enough for each other" and what we basically meant was it would be more nice if we were at least like 4-6 people. NEVER TRUST A SALES-PERSON Their entire career revolves around lying to you. This goes double for any kind of advertising. Keep in mind: A sales-person is just one person lying to you. Advertising on the other hand, is a carefully crafted lie, manufactured by a whole team of people. Don't trust either of them, do your own research and refer back to rule 1. 3. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SALE! There is only a SPEND! You might be spending less than you normally would, but you are still SPENDING! i.e.: NOT-SAVING. 4. DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY KIND OF DEBT/CREDIT AGREEMENT Keep in mind, making debt of any kind, is the modern equivalent of selling yourself into SLAVERY! The struggle for freedom is real! The way you fight is to make sure you don't give the enemy any weapons or ammunition against you. Remarkably, it's easy to fight, all you have to do is: STAY AWAY FROM DEBT! Rule 5. FOR WOMAN Remember: He's a strong, independent man. He has his own job and should buy his own stuff. Yes, he can get those tools/toys/cars FOR HIMSELF! If he wants you to get it for him, he is NOT a strong, independent man. He is still a boy and you should not even be in the same room as him. Rule 5. FOR MEN Remember: She's a strong, independent woman. She has her own job and should buy her own stuff. Yes, she can get those flowers/jewels/clothes/shoes/phones/cars FOR HERSELF! If she wants you to get it for her, she is NOT a strong, independent woman. She is still a girl and you should not even be in the same room as her. Financial freedom is easy, there is no magic, there is no trick, no clever moves or quick solutions. While others were bragging about their latest smart-phone and flat-screen TV, I was walking around with a outdated feature-phone, and watching TV on a 25 year old set. Every cent I would have spent on that fancy new phone/tv/car went to pay off my mortgage. That bit of planning and discipline, helped me pay it off 14 years EARLY. Yea, I did not hang with the cool-crowd. But then again, that same cool-crowd now think I'm the coolest thing since sliced-bread, because I'm hardly over 40 and seriously considering semi-retirement. TL;DR: You work hard for your money, don't blow it on crap you don't actually and factually need!
Then you die and someone comes and takes all that money, your almost 40 years old.. buy yourself a t.v. And while your at it get Netflix. Live a little bro 💜
I've been having thoughts lately about how we only have one life and it really is short. I can even admit that lately, I have become fearful of death. Idk if this is what a midlife crisis is but this video really helps cope with it. I'm glad youtube recommended this. And thank you for this video.
Yes it sucks, so keep carpin all them diems. Don't finish up like Grandpa Simpson: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hmc819RMVUE.html Seriously, consider the words of Robert Heinlein He makes more sense than most on this topic: "There is no reward at all for doing what other people expect of you, and to do so is not merely difficult, but impossible. It is easier to deal with a footpad than it is with the leech who wants "just a few minutes of your time, please-this won't take long." Time is your total capital, and the minutes of your life are painfully few. If you allow yourself to fall into the vice of agreeing to such requests, they quickly snowball to the point where these parasites will use up 100 percent of your time-and squawk for more! So learn to say No-and to be rude about it when necessary. Otherwise you will not have time to carry out your duty, or to do your own work, and certainly no time for love and happiness. The termites will nibble away your life and leave none of it for you. (This rule does not mean that you must not do a favor for a friend, or even a stranger. But let the choice be yours. Don't do it because it is "expected" of you.)” ― Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough for Love
I’m 37 nearly died 3 times. I’ve even been on full life support in a coma for 4 weeks. I don’t remember being in any pain. Death doesn’t scare me anymore.
Probably a good sign to be fearful or death (as weird as that sounds). Either means that you are happy with what you have and want to keep enjoying it as long as possible, or that you are hopeful and engaged about the future and what you can enjoy and do. I'm not scared of dying specifically but the idea of not having a wide experience of live and being satisfied by what I've done scares me. But it's very easily possible to do that while still being alive. So how alive are we if we're just going through the motions and not engaging with what we do, or doing any of the things we want to? Without that we're just wasting time I think. So I think I know what you mean.
I hope you can turn your understandable fear of death into a love of life so that you treasure even quite ordinary moments e.g. a trip on a bus, the arrival of Christmas decorations in the shops, someone being kind to a child, a dog trotting past obediently with its human ... they are all quiet treasures.
7M years ago we were kicked out of trees... You are reading this because we tapped into the quantum universe... Your mass is made up of mostly Neutrons which is .01% heaver then a proton (it decays into a proton) replaced every 10 minutes or so... If this difference in mass between neutrons and protons wasn't exactly what it is you wouldn't have mass and reading this text. Either we won't remember we ever lived or somehow we survive death into this quantum world.... Understanding all of this will help you live each day with the knowledge that you really shouldn't be here....none of us... Try to enjoy the time you have left.... Read...study...yearn for knowledge.... This beauty is possible because of the exact time you are living in now... What are you afraid of again?
Should have titled this video "The 5 signs of Kali Yuga or The four pillars of the doomed ones if you combine poor social skills with poor relationship choices, " For dramatic effect! Almost shed a tear when Arran said "The important fights we win are not the ones in a ring but the ones we face against ourselves." A bit tricky when someone has no idea who they are. RU-vid, How does someone even know who they are?
Hope you're OK now, Captain Falcon. Relationships can be so difficult. Hope there are some warm friendships to sustain you, even if you feel that marriage is not for you.
Hi! Started watching your videos recently and I’ve become addictive to them. I found it’s funny that, as a Chinese, What you have said in this video is what my parents, and all Chinese patients are saying to their children every single day. It’s common sense in China. But I still appreciate what you have said in here, because looks like it’s new to some people. And they need to hear it.
No one: Absolutely no one: My RU-vid feed: how you are ruining your life RU-vid trynna tell me something I already know. Got news for ya RU-vid , Forty2. my life’s already ruined so joke on you my friend
Well I am utterly doomed then, had severe clinical depression since I was 23, I am now 50, and over last 6 years run up several massive utility bills, etc, and am single, my true love decapitated himself, deliberately, in very public place. Have no close family left, turns out I was never particularly close with any of my friends, totally alone. I do work, work for two separate companies, stress is very close to taking over as my first name not just my second name. Too old to go back and change anything. Si send me £370"000 and save a life!!! No?? Oh well, can't blame me for not trying.
Sneaky ways you can ruin your life? These words: "It's not a problem, i can stop any time i want" I've been there, i was for years. Heavy addict. I luckily got into treatment and those days are way behind me and I'm nearly back to normal. Still gotta quit my treatment medication tho, and i dread the day.
@ keep gaming, eating ice cream, and fapping, and don't drink/smoke because addictive tendencies can translate suuuuuper easily to more dangerous things :P
@@knowledge1366 People think that and one day you get into a car accident and total your car worth 2k to the insurance and have to buy a newer car and have zero credit and get stuck with an insane interest rate because you cant be responsible adult with a credit card.
@@KidSnatchhy That is an incredulously simplistic argument in favor of credit cards. Almost like a credit card ad you get in the mail that's trying to prey off of your fears and insecurities.
@@MastaGambit I'm in sales man. I see it on a regular basis. someone might have the income and need a car but cant get approved because they have zero credit. Their literally is no downside to having a credit card that is paid off every month. especially with cash back.
