Thank you for taking the time to make this video friend. I’m a Special Operation Forces Vet and my father is on a fixed income. He purchased the 4patriots and it couldn’t even run the smallest window ac you can get at Walmart for more than two hours. I will be returning it and getting his money back.
Thanks dude! I was considering buying a 4Patriot generator when I came across your video. Ur right when you say that all the vids are produced by the company. Thanks for saving me some bucks.
A actually brother ! It’s a great generator ! I hook up fans , loud speakers , skill saws etc !! I’ve had other generators and this works amazing . So yeah anyway . This guy talks about not a lot of videos, it could be many reasons , this guy seems likes he hates the patriots for some reason . Anyway don’t let this guy deter you ! 100% money back guarantee for 365 ! He’s lying about 10hrs of power lol ! Anyway. This guy is all over place and there are wholes in his facts! I love it and enjoy it !
@@leosuarezjr8479 I get what you're saying. But after looking around for other generators, I settled on the Ryobi. Interchangeable batteries, low cost and good enough to run my big kitchen fridge/freezer during a blackout. The only other thing I could have wished for was a solar hookup. But, I can make one of those easy.
At around 2:30 and there after you seem to be confused about the differences between watts and watt hours. With all due respect I’m only telling you this because you’re doing a good service, with the platform you have, helping people navigate to something better. However, it’s important to understand 1800w has nothing to do with how long a power bank will last. A common analogy about electricity is to think about water flow. If you have a bath tub full of water, the amount of water stored in the tub is your watt hours, the flow, is your watts. If there wasn’t a city water line around and you were using the tub of water to put out a fire. The bigger the fire the more flow you would need. A water gun like stream of water isn’t going to help put the fire out, even though you would be able to use it longer. You need a fire hose sized to drown it out. But the capacity of the water in the tub will depend how long you’re able to keep spraying water. So in the case of the 4patriots 1800w power bank, it’s possible to have a small tub with a large 3” drain. Or small battery pack with a large inverter that can output 1800w. The way it was marketed was completely wrong and takes advantage of ignorant consumers thinking they can power a house hold fridge for hours on end. In reality the 4pat 1800 was just a small power bank to keep your phones, laptops, tablets charged with the ABILITY to power a fridge, if you had to. Everyones refrigerator is different so none of them pull the same output. It really wasn’t even that long ago when the first power banks were coming out. They sized the inverter proportionally to the size of the battery. Many people thought these 300-500w inverters were useless because it came with a 120v plug but you couldn’t power something like a 1200w keurig coffee maker, or a toaster, or a fridge. So I think they were cramming larger inverters with small battery packs so they can market it as easy to carry, powers high drain appliances like coffee makers and fridges. Anyway, if you can’t find the watt hours listed easily in the specs, best bet is to stay away from it. Some other important things to consider when buying a solar generator is how are you going to charge it. Some, not so good ones, don’t let you charge while you’re using the unit to power something, that’s not any good. Some limit the solar charging to under 200w solar. You could run the battery down twice as fast as it takes to fill up. Some power banks come with multiple ways to charge but limit you to only 1 way at a time. I like that ecoflow has an ultra fast charging mode when plugged into ac power. But if your plugged into ac it shuts of dc charging. I have a small 800w propane generator I use to charge it up real quick and I can turn off the propane generator to conserve fuel. However, bluetti appears to come with slow charging speeds, but you can use all the charging outlets to charge from a car, from ac, from solar, and charge through the USB-C port all at the same time and be completely charged in under an hour from completely dead. Everyone has got to research before they buy anything.
Tony what solar generator do you have and what sizes do they make? I need one where I can charge it while it charging items inside my house. What do you think? Any advice
Iv held off from getting something more ideal because the technology has been evolving rapidly since this video. I waiting to see where it settles, luckily hurricanes and other power outage events have been pretty calm lately. However i’am looking hard at some offerings from Bluetti. Currently I’m still using 3 different, older, 1800w power banks, and a couple 600w, instead of 1 bigger unit. My thought was if 1 unit failed I have 2 more to keep necessities going. I don’t know what your necessities are but at the very least, if your taking it seriously, I’d be looking at the Bluetti Ac300. It’s a large unit but still manageable to be portable, so you could take it on the road tailgating/camping. You basically buy it in sections because it’s modular. The inverter is a stand alone unit that puts out 3000w continuous and up to 6000w surge. There is no battery inside the inverter so you will need at least 1 b300 battery to use it, you could stack up to 4 batteries for a total of 12,300wh of storage. You could connect 2 sets in parallel to put out 240v. To take it on the road you could disconnect the inverter and 1 battery, leave the other 3 batteries home. The Ac500 would be better putting out 5000w continuous with the same modular stacking design. Up to 18,400wh of power storage if you were to max out the stacking batteries. Both the Ac300 and Ac500 have UPS capability. So you could keep the unit plugged into wall power and the power would bypass the battery and send power to something you never want to power off. Such as a desk top computer so you don’t lose a big report your working on, or you could have piece of mind if you’re on a road trip and you have your refrigerator plugged in to the unit. The house will lose power but you won’t have to rush home to keep your food cold. The Bluetti Ep800 and 900 is a more permanent whole home backup solution. Still modular as you can buy and stack batteries over time so you don’t have to buy 1 big unit now, but it’s not portable. With any of these examples I would size an appropriate ROOF top solar array so your not turning your yard into a mini solar farm.
I have the ecoflow 1300 watt for 1200 and it was very helpful during hurricane Ian. I also bought their 400watt solar panel and it charges to 85 percent in a few hours on a sunny day! I could have used it on the fridge but instead used it on the coffee pot, electric grill , fans and lights and it never actually ran out of power! Thanks for the vid! I even used it to operate my garage door !
I absolutely love my delta, recently picked up the pro. Hurt the wallet a bit but along with the panels i can run anything in my house so im pretty satisfied
Pull the manual override on the garage door opener and problem solved 😂 if you live in a neighborhood that you have to lock your garage door for a couple days, I'm sorry. Move.
WOW I was planning on buying a 4pariots generator before the end of the month. I went online and watched many comparisons and NO ONE ever spoke about the 4 patriots generator!! Now I know why. THank you for saving me from making a very big mistake. Ecoflow was always mentioned in every one.
@@titanpreparednessI know you were pushing Eco Flow but I think I need to do more research. The thing that sucked me into For Patriots was they were on tv so I looked it up. When I went to the website I liked the detailed information they have. I support anything for our military but I don’t want to get ripped off at the same time. I did watch the videos but did not catch what you did. Thanks again
@TippyTomsGhost what do you mean by you didnt catch what I did? I do "push" ecoflow but that's just because I've found them to be one of the best units for my situation. I have a ecofow fridays playlist where you can see how long it will run different household appliances feel free to check those out. Bluetti and jackery are also very reputable units but because I don't own those it would be hard for me to tell you exactly how good they are.
You are the GOAT! Thank you! I was lucky to see the red flags on their website such as not listing the actual Wh of the battery even before I saw your video. Clicked away to better products quick. Thank you for the excellent and truthful review.
I just picked up the Ecoflow delta 2 max 2048wh LFP battery 2400w inverter 4800w peak with 2 500w solar controllers with 2 extra 2048 extra batteries for $3650. That 6144wh of battery capacity or 5550kw of usable power after subtracting inverter overhead. It’s a great setup with 2 550w panels to feed it 1000 watts of solar. I runs 3 freezers 24/7 with that stack. Could not be happier.
Glad to help bluetti and jackery are also good choices. I reccomend watching some reviews from will prowse or hobotech before purchasing any power station
Every one is trying to sell something. Me personally im just trying to prevent people from getting ripped off. If you can take that 3 grand and invest in a better unit i would encourage it even if i worked for or sold 4 patriots
That is THE number one red flag of red flags, with any product. The torturous, nearly infinitely long, blah, blah, blah, whether it's in writing, or video, before any, mention of the price. I am so tired running into this phenomenon, when I click to check out a product I think looks cool or useful.
Well... The first red flag is in the company name. It's a company that markets itself to American babyboomers which basically guarantees you're getting a subpar product for triple the price. It would be one thing if they were actually made in America, but nope. Manufactured in Asia. It's a scam in every sense.
They seem to be out of stock often, but my Okmo has done well and we use it a LOT. But those solar generators do have limitations. They can’t do big stuff for more than a couple mins. Phones, tablets, flashlights, string lights, fans, and even small freezer are fine
I can agree know the limits. Thats what i dont like about this one is it overestimates the limits. I know my delta will power a fridge/freezer for about 12 hrs but some how they guess their old unit thats half the size will run one for 20
@@titanpreparednessswinging back to this video just to add that I am thinking of testing out their smaller one, the Sidekick. Which I think has potential for camping, some RV/van life uses. Stay tuned. If i decide to pull the trigger will show tests of course, like I did in the Okmo video (which actually took me 16 hours to film LOL)
You just saved me too. Since you were doing all that math, I realized the main selling point was to not lose all that money spent on all that food in the fridge. Now I realize, I can buy a lot of replacement food and dine out a lot before reaching $3000 spent on this generator.
Thank you for sharing! I have been searching and researching solar powered generators for a couple of months. I have been seeing 4patriots ads like crazy during that time. I found the same info when comparing them to other systems. So your title is spot on. They are banking that people do not do research, because researchers are the enemy. Frankly, most people don’t. It is the same for everything else, and the companies just line their pockets.
Almost a year ago, I bought two Patriot refrigerators/ freezer. In no time at all one of them quit working. To their defense, I called the agent went over all the steps to get it up and running. Nothing worked. When I asked him was I to return it, he said no, shipping cost too much. We'll just send you another brand new one. And so they did. Since then, both have been running continuously on ac. I don't think the batteries would run it long enough in a crisis. The box itself appears to be good enough to use for an ice chest. Thanks for totally confusing me on the generator.
I just got an ALLPOWER 2000 watt solar generator with 400 watt charging panels from Walmart for 1200 bucks tax included free shipping and I love that I can charge it and use it at the same time 😊
You failed to mention the ecoflow does NOT come with the solar pannels needed to power it, that is part of the price difference plus the aded hardware for 1800 watt output also adds to the price difference. While the storage capacity is important the output is more important for powering devices and the extra weight comes from larger and heavier components needed to power the output side, not to mention the 4 patriots generator can take upto 240 volt input. Someone else doing a test and not maxing the generator out has nothing to do with how it actually preforms. There is actually a lot yuou failed to mention. Why is it you feel the need to down play another brand to advertise the one that you have an affiliation with?
So few things to mention here. I did in fact talk about the eco flow not coming with a panel when the 4 patriots does. Its a 100w monocrystaline non folding panel that they value at $500. You can buy better panels for either unit on amazon for about $200. You said output was more important. So you would be correct in saying the 4 patriots can output more vs the eco flow river 2. For this one I was doing strictly battery size comparison both were 768wh. If you need that 1800w output then the 4 patriots is better compared to the eco flow delta that has 1800watts of output with 3600 surge and a bigger battery for $900 compared to $2500. It too can take 240v of input and weighs 30lbs compared to the 4 patriots at 40. Now you talk about me down playing other brands to promote ones im affiliates with...interesting choice of words. I compared 2 similar products based on specs and one came out above another. Would you rather i be like most and tell you that you should buy a $2500-$3000 product that cant beat the other product that is 1/2 the cost? Yes i make money selling ecoflow to viewers but ive also invested my own money buying their products and a lot of my time doing research to find the best dealer for this type of system. If your mad because you bought one then thats on you. If you are happy with your 4 patriots, then congratulations. This video was to showcase that there are far better products out there for a fraction of the cost.
I just had the exact experience you described. To make long story short I ended up buying the Ecoflow Delta 2 Max with a 220W solar panel for almost exactly half the cost of the 4 Patriots 2000x. It was delivered Sep 8th. Just Sayin'
its funny that you went that route. I've had plenty of people tell me that im spreading lies just to sale a product. Seems like you figured out the truth
Yea Ecoboy never mentions the Li-iron phosphate battery in the 1800, one of the safest batteries on the market, no possibilities of fire like Li-ion, expensive but safe!
I just saw the same ad as you and immediately thought “you do know what electromagnetic pulse means, right?” All microchips are done and it 100% looks like this generator has a chip in it.
Got a 2000x as a birthday present from a close family relative, I'm gratful I got the gift, but definitely would've gone a different route, planning on using this as a backup with my Bluetti AC180. 4Patriots also has a very terrible design on this thing, very odd to pack inside my rig, thanks for the video, I knew this was too good to be true lol
I built a simple 200ah battery box. It has over 2.5kwh of power for less that 500 dollars. It has a battery monitor usb and usb-c charging ports. I used a dewalt large tool box to put it in and weighs less than 50lbs
Absolutely good straight forward consumer advice on these products however I would only add that EcoFlow is a Chinese corporation where 4Patriots is based out of Tennessee, so if you're interested in supporting American made products versus funding the ChiCom invasion initiative then just understand that their costs are so low because of their slave labor policies. It's your choice Americans.
I’m only interested in what works BEST, when the lights go out, I want reliable power, I don’t care where it comes from, I want the BEST product at the BEST price!
Hi jklklm4985. I can't speak to the Patriot 1800 or 2000, But I had an older 1500, and that model was built by Lion Energy (i.e. Lion is the OEM), and American company.
Thanks for the info. I was debating whether to purchase one or not. I did e-mail the company president regarding the time it would take to re-charge on a cloudy day. The answer I received was 18 hours or more.
Yeah 18 hours is the best case situation. That's 100% accuracy on the solar panel with 18hrs of perfect sun, which is nearly impossible. However That's the way it is for any solar system but if you get a unit that can intake more solar then the time will go down
Some of these companies really take advantage of people that know nothing about electrical power and expect something for nothing. They also play games with the numbers. It gets tricky when inverting DC to AC so they get by with half truths.
Thank you for your well-prepared and informative presentation. I’m particularly interested in how the eco generator performs when multiple items are plugged in simultaneously. Additionally more verified customers not affiliated with the company would be helpful. Patriotic lost my business on both of those points.
I'm glad I could help. I'm being honest and transparent. Yes, I do have a sponsorship for ecoflow, but that's because I did a lot of research before and wanted to work with the best company. As you can see from size and price, 4 patriots aren't it
The river would power the TV but not the fridge The delta 2 would power the fridge and it's only 529 currently. The only problem with the delta 2 is size 1kw isn't a lot for the fridge. I have a playlist called ecoflow Fridays where I plugged the delta 1300 to my old fridge it ran for 8-12 hrs so you would get similar results If I was you I would get 2 delta 2s or 1 delta 2 max at least
if you lose power for more than 24 hours, you will have more important problems to deal with than your fridge and your CPAD machine because you're probably in some Katrina level or disaster. If it's a small disturbance, then just keep your fridge / freezer closed , and insulate it. It can keep a descent temperature for 1 day, maybe 2.
Not sure where you live but sounds like your very lucky to never lose power. Where i live we lose power for a day or 2 at a time just cause the weather is nice. A katrina level eve t is a bit of a stretch but i see where you are coming from. In Most cases the power outage is due to a storm but once that clears then the fridge and cpap are important
Too late for me. I literally watch this video while opening my 4 Patriots 2000 solar generator. I will buy EcoFlow in the future. Thanks for making this video.
I actually have both the Patriots 2000x and the Expansion battery for the 2000x. It's a bit pricey, definitely priced high. However, it's simplified for easy use. With the expansion battery hooked up, Ran a large refrigerator non-stop for 2 days 7 hrs. That's almost 2.5 days, sure I have other solar generators actually all three Oupes Mega series, Mega 2, Mega 3 and Mega 5 each with an extra expansion battery. Although the Patriots 2000x has less capacity than each of my Oupes Mega series it draws down less energy when its on. Which gives it longer than normal usage when using an expansion battery. Sure, Patriots 2000x has its cons but overall glad i bought one.
Thank you for the follow-up, Mega series have more capacity than the Patriots 2000x including when each unit is coupled with an expansion battery. All Mega series (M1-M2-M3) with an expansion battery will out last the Patriot 2000x with an expansion battery. However, The Patriots 2000x with an expansion battery still does well. I have these four Solar generators, Although the Patriots 2000x has its Short comings it's still a good Solar generator. Very user friendly, AC Inventer has low draw down when in use as opposed to Mega 3 and Mega 5 they draw a lot of energy when AC Inventer is on. Not so much with the Mega 2, the AC inverter draws much less in which helps Mega 2 last very long when in use. To be honest, I had questioned myself a few times for buying the Patriots generator, now I don't and am very happy I bought one. After learning the Patriots 2000x strengths, See how valuable it is. Now with the OUPES Mega series, Very happy with them but they do have a couple of short comings. Overall, I feel everyone needs a couple of good Solar generators and lots of Solar panels. It doesn't do any good to have a Solar Generator without a proper Solar panel system to charge them when the grid is down for long periods. Good luck and may we all survive what is to come, the future doesn't look good, people please prepare.
I’ve only used their phone chargers & flashlights they seem decent for what I use them for. I do agree 2k for a small generator is a rip off. Thanks for your input I don’t see many videos talking about it either
We haven't had the product (Patriot's) for long enough to be able to say whether it's a good product long term or not, but after we got it, we did have a short power outage, and so just testing it out for that short amount of time, I was able to run 2 fans since I live in an area that gets hot during the summer and a lot of times during the early fall, and it worked out great for that (so far). We also used the generator to power our fridge for a while, and it worked ok for that too. So with the small amount of time we were able to test it out, so far it worked good (if that helps any). I'd like to add that they DO say that you don't run your fridge off the generator constantly, but run it for say an hour, and then turn the generator off for 3 or 4 hours etc. over and over, but don't run it constantly with no breaks. I'm thinking about maybe in the future buying a small fridge off amazon, because I think that would be a better fit for the generator though.
Hopefully, you will stay happy with your purchase, and it serves you well. It will run all of those things you mentioned but the question would be more so how much longer would it run with a different (cheaper) unit. Either way good luck with your preps
Wow i was actually thinking of getting one cuz they offer a payment plan (just because it is a convenient option) decided to do some research and came across your video , now I don't see it is worth it in the long run. That convenience lost it's shimmer thank you for taking the time to make this video👍😊
I cannot thank you enough for your video! I'm so fed up with all my 4patriot items. The solar charging on phone chargers doesn't last long or the flashlights or radios. Now when I need my sidekick in the car, the solar panel is dead and I've only used it twice, to test it. You deserve a serious 🏆trophy. God bless you ❤
I have the 1800 and it works good. I tested it on my new 7.0 freezer and it ran it for 19.5 hrs. I ALSO have the 3600 ecoflow because my wifes on oxygen 24/7. IT ran the 7.0 freezer fo 3 days. Of course, 3600 is more than 1800.
4 patriots Keeps calling their products 1800 & 2000X "GENERATORS" they are not, for 1/6 the price I can buy a gas inverter generator that will run 9 hours at full load on 1 gallon or 12 hours at 50% load, it can run 1,500 watt electric heater, TV, refrigerator and lights/computer for 9 hours on 1 gallon, without the electric heater will run for 12 hours, only takes 1 minuet to refill the gas tank. the generator only weighs 42lbs. bought mine at costco for $450. for under $1,000 I can get one that will also run AC and well. 7,000 watt continuous runs for 11 hours on 4 gallons at full load.
Not plugging this product, still researching . Your comments are good for someone who wants a gas powered portable generator but have nothing to do with this product or for someone who is researching quiet solar powered generators.
Modern inverter gas generators are very quiet , efficient, and provide power for multiple appliances for extended periods of time. 4patriots is a scam!!!
I got scammed on the first models. With panels 2000.00 when I could of gotten the ecoflow, which I did. Charges full in 1 hr. F#$% this 4patriots brand
I kept getting prodded by my wife to buy one of these. I never even considered it for a minute just due to their marketing and that they looked cheap. We bought an Anker 767. Got so tired of the commercial, I decided to see if I was right. So here I am finding out I was. I had no idea how much money the Patriot power cost! I'd hate to be the people that dont do their research and see this. Buyers remorse is an understatement! I'd be sick to my stomach. I almost bought the Ecoflo, but it weighed 56 pound or so and didnt have wheels, but also because I wanted the 30 amp outlet. It's way quieter than the Ecoflo too.
you do realize that what I'm "trying to sell" is actually worth the price. the $3000 unit I promote is 3.6 kw vs 1.6kw from the other company so it's double the size but the same price or cheaper on sale.
I found it odd that they don't list the power output too. Saying their outlets put out more power than the actual product can produce just tells me they have a powerful inverter for no reason, one would be better off just buying a larger inverter and create the set up on your own. I have a harbor freight set up for the small usb adaptors and Bauer batteries, because it is the battery AH I want; I run my fans and power my cell phone and such, but I know what I have for power. I appreciate this video, as I am tired of the same lack of info on ACTUAL run time. I did buy a 100 watt panel from harbor freight a few years ago for $100, it has done its job, but again, I wasn't expecting anything more, and the store would accept the return if it was crap, just saying, cheap is fine as long as You KNOW its not exactly high quality, but too charge 4 patriot prices for cheap products is absolute trash, THANKS, I am glad You did this, it might save a poor Soul a lot.
I have a harbor freight system as well and while I would want to lug it around the components are basically the same as all these solar generators. It's awesome the product can run 1800 or 2000 watts on the inverter but it's gonna be pulling a lot from that battery to make it useless past 20 mins
So my mom recently bought the 2000 and I had major red flags going off. The solar panels can’t be left outside as they’re not even water proof they’re water “resistant”. I was looking into putting it into my van build I’m doing and quickly realized how overpriced for what it is. Luckily she can return it for a fee so she’ll at least get some of her $4000 back and be able to buy something else and have money left over.
Yeah I was looking that ad popped up on me on Facebook and stuff on 4patriots solar power generators are only good for the small things in like phones or something like that so they don't hold a charge how long does yours hold a charge and do they power or fridgerator you know and for how long I would like some more information from me if you can you don't know what the hell's going to happen. I have one more question like for now you know the solar panels or put on your roof did those work well at all like powering your house and stuff like that so you can save on electricity bill
So my Eco flow Delta (when new) would hold a charge for a year. Itll charge my small devices so many times ive lost count but it will run my big items like my chest freezer for about 15 hours. Now remember you really only need to plug a freezer up once every 12-24 hours so if your doing that then it would last for days. I dont have any solar on my roof but i know most of those systems are powered straight to the grid so during a blackout they wouldnt help run anything
I almost bought 4patriots this month until I watched a different video from someone else saying similar things and then looked on Amazon and bought 2 BLUETTI. I’m so glad I didn’t buy 4patriots now
@@titanpreparedness on reason I picked BLIUETTI is because they initiated the LAAF program in 2023 helping African families when we buy an AC300 or AC500 they donate a solar system to a family. And my nephews wife and her family are from Africa
just add a 2000 watt inverter to run a power saw people need to look at the watthours as the fuel tank on your vehicle and the wattage they advertise as hp of your vehicle, so the size of your fuel/power tank and your wattage/hp capability, will let you know how long you can operate something at what level before you need to refuel/repower up
Garndpa always said if a person is peddling their honesty, holiness or patriotism don't frigging believe them I have always found his advice pretty sound
My stepfather bought one of these unfortunately. Trying to find what panels I can use with it to make it suck less for his sake, but don't want to be scammed alongside him by buying their 100w panels for a ridiculous $500. They say you can "daisy chain" up to 4 panels, but the input only says 12v 8amp... I swear they intentionally hide necessary information to harm their own "customers".
lionenergy.com/products/100w-lw-12v-solar-panel This panel should work it's a 12v with the same inputs as 4 patriots and it's half the price . Not sure how daisy chaining will work
The 2KW Patriot Solar Generator does not have enough capacity to run the average 450 Watt refrigerator for any significant amount of time; no sunshine, no recharge. The system can be duplicated for half the price using Harbor Freight components.
I just came here after watching the Ethical Preparedness review of the Patriot 1800. He says he's been using it for 3 years and he keeps saying it kicks butt. He says he's not paid by Patriot. This kind of comes across as a commercial for Ecoflow. --Whatever. Just saying.
Sounds like he likes hes unit and hes trying to justify (in his own eyes) his $3000 purchase. Eco flow is just the one i bought. Blu etti is good too theres a few other great brands. If you want to spend 3 grand and get old tech then more power to you. Me personally if i can get something better for half the price why wouldnt i do it?
@@titanpreparedness As I recall, he said he didn't buy it, that he got it 3 years ago for review and he's found that it's really passed the test after 3 years. He said that a long test period is what proves the value. He also said that if he had paid for it, he felt it would be worth it. --Anyway, I'm new to this. I'm not on either side. The Econoflow may be the better deal. --I do find it interesting that both of you use "preparedness" monikers.
@histubeness oh he got it for free...many channels won't say anything (or many things) negative about things they get for free. Wonder if he is affiliated with them. Yup. Many people use preparedness, prepping, prepper, ect is this community
So i have nothing wrong with keeping a fridge on during an outage. My problem is people spend 2000-3000 for the 4 patriots and it might keep the fridge on for a single day when they could have taken that and spent it on a better system and keep the fridge on for a week or long. Also i reccomend the cycle system when it comes to running a fridge during an outage. On for 1 off for 2 would extend the power stations dramatically
FYI.... As of 10-25-23 Big "A" has the Pecron E2000LFP with a 300 dollar coupon AND another 10% OFF = $809.10 + tax.... With the LiFeP04 battery, A GREAT PRICE ON A GREAT UNIT....
Ive been looking at 4patriots for a while now and never could pull the trigger. Things seemed WAY overpriced when doing my own research and comparing them. And not just solar generators either! I could not click on this video fast enough and find relief in knowing Im not the only one! I even reached the point of asking myself "wait, I thought they were here to help us??!!" For thier prices on everything theyre not helping the average hardworking Joe in my opinion!
Watching 12/2023, I am all for capitalism but some of the items being pushed by the Prepper community are very questionable at best. For power banks I use Goal Zero and am very happy. I set up a small 12 volt solar system that powers an Engel refrigerator/freezer 24/7 for the past 3 years or so. Freeze dried meals seem to have the same issue, everybody is hawking them (I mean selling them thru their affiliate link). Keep up the common sense, we need more of it!
I remember when goal zero was the only one on the market and people said they were crazy now theres a ton of competition. Weve reviewed different freeze dried meals before and those companies that were suppose to be the next best thing tasted terrible to us....but everyones taste is different...however they all taste good if you never taste them
So in general you might be correct if the towers go down without a backup generator your cell phone might be of little use. However, lets say your life is not in danger, you could read a book on your phone, look up maps that youve download, play games that dont require the internet, or you could hook that phone up to a wifi connection that is available and get information or entertainment that way. Many uses for a phone that dont require cell phone service.
Those 4P are not generators and nothing more that a battery with an inverter to convert AC to DC that's it....A generator has an engine spins a shaft which rotates an electromagnet (rotor or armature). The rotating armature spins inside a stationary magnetic field (stator) to produce electrical current through copper wiring. I have an 11,000 watt generator/welder that will run everything in my house including my HVAC i bet that 4 patriot's can't do that.....LOL
The 2000X costs 3 Grand and for that money you can buy a Generac that can power your entire home, not just your fridge, TV and a CPAP machine. These Patriot power supplies are total junk and so over-priced it's not even worth using as a back-up power generator.
So ill agree that you can buy a great gas ginny for that price. Solar generators aka portable power stations do have a place in a long term grid down scenario or in off the grid set ups so while the patriot might be junk i wouldnt say all of them are junk
Okay I bought this. I thought I was doing good for my family. Family went through some things. I’m trying to do things I was never taught about. I am just getting into survival things. So I’ve lost money on this. Can someone please tell me what kinds of things I should consider buying to keep my family okay in an emergency? I need to watch video again concerning a better solar power generator. Until I can buy my own home, I need powerful and light and inexpensive. I’m very frustrated with myself. 😢
Firstly it happens i cant tell you the amount of stuff i wasted money on when i first started because i was listening to other channels. Yours is still useful even if you over paid, prepping is all about learning. The way i tell people to start is pretend theres a weekend power outage. Do you have water and a way to filter any water you find. Do you have food and a way to cook sinple meals? Lights? Ways to keep a phone charged? Ways to keep warm. Feel free to email me and we can discuss more in depth and i can give you a better list
A good electricity backup plan consists of two things. 1. A good "Solar Power Station" which will power the essential items-refrigerator, small fan, lights, etc. This unit should be at least 2000 watts rated with an ~ 4000 watt surge. I bought the Pecron E2000LFP that fits this spec. (~$1199.00 at BIG A store). I can run my full size refer overnight and still have ~ 35% power remaining the next morning. 2. A good INVERTER generator, rated ~ 1800 watts running with ~ 2200 watts surge. I bought the Westinghouse iGEN2500 that fits this spec. (~$600.00 at HD or Lowes. It only consumes ONE gallon of gas running a 25% load for 10 hours. During the day, this inverter gen "recharges" my solar gen battery for night-time use for the refer. For hurricane season in Florida, I keep at least 15 gallons of STABILIZED E-0 - ethanol free - in reserve that would give me a good 5 days STRAIGHT of back up power with remembering to change the oil at ~ 100 hours or so. The above is MY plan and gear and is typical of what most people have/use for a power outage....
When did you buy it? My mom did the same is you and feels the exact same way. But I checked their return policy and you can return it within 365 days of purchasing! You have to pay shipping and a “restocking” fee but still better than the insane price it is
@@laurakcollinsWell, I DID NOT buy it, I did my homework BEFORE outlaying the cash. Again, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Pecron E2000LFP as it give you the best performance for the $$ you spend. As you have the option to ship the patriot back, it will cost you AT LEAST 125 BUCKS or more.... I live in Florida and you will benefit from a "solar power station", but, for the hurricane days with clouds, the Westinghouse iGEN2500, an inverter type that only burns one gallon of gas in ~8-10 hours... USE E-0 gas only in any small engine you have at home... My hurricane plan is to run the Westinghouse gas inverter during the day for a window AC and refer, also to charge the Pecron for night-time use for the refer that will keep the refer running overnight and still have 30% power in reserve. If you have any more questions, give me a shout right here 🙂 Hank
I just watched one but they always show Just one thing plugged in at a time, so that fostered a doubt im my mind that the 4 Patriot 2000X won't be sufficient for my household power needs. They don't explain enough.
There made in China , the Patriots power or am i wrong. We need to made a USA solar generator thats sufficient to run a home , heat and power are important during Winter. Great video, you saved my but. Ty
I have never liked 4P, something about there business model feels off. Their food for instance is more about the containers and sparrkly packageing than the tasteless starch (in various forms) contained within
Good message, but for me,you should add,Ecoflow, Bluetti, and the rest of those Chinese high frequency units to the mix,yes they are better than the patriot, but they are what they are, throw away units. Ecoflow may give you a new one when it breaks, but they will never repair it, IE, throw away. Titans, from Point Zero Energy. The only portable, modular, low frequency units on the market. #1 for years, and there new ones are even better. Nuff said
