🔥Must Read More: 100% Evidence For Hijab & Niqab From Qur'an & Hadith: 🔥HIJAB: 1.1 And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts and not to expose their adornment except that which appears from it and to wrap their headcovers over their chests and not to expose their adornment except to their husbands…” (Surah al-Nūr 31) 1.2 Sayyidah `Āishah said that Sayyidah Asmā’ bint Abū Bakr (May Allah be pleased with them) came to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless and give him peace) while wearing thin clothing. The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless and give him peace) disliked it and said, “O Asmā’, when a woman reaches puberty, it is not appropriate that any part (of her body) be seen other than this and this.” He indicated towards his face and hands. (Sunan Abī Dāwūd 4104) 1.3 A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless and give him peace) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to offer myself to you." He looked towards her and fixed his gaze on her. Then he lowered his head. When the woman saw that he did not make any decision, she sat down. Then, a man from his Companions stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you are not interested in her, then marry her to me." (al-Bukhārī 5126) 1.4 Sayyiduna Jābir bin `Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with him) said, “I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless and give him peace) on `Īd. He prayed the üalāh before the khuøbah without adhān and iqāmah. He then stood up leaning on Bilal, and he enjoined [upon the people] the fear of Allah, exhorted [them] towards His obedience, advised [them] and admonished them. He then walked until he came to the women and advised them and admonished them. He then asked them to give in charity because they will make up a greater portion of fuel for Jahannam. A woman with darkened cheeks stood up and said, ‘Why, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said, ‘For you complain often and are ungrateful of your spouse.’ Then, they began to donate their jewelry such as their earrings and rings by throwing them onto Bilal’s cloth. (Muslim 2046) 1.5 Once the Prophet (Allah bless and give him peace) was riding an animal with Sayyiduna Faðl bin `Abbās sitting behind him. Sayyiduna `Alī bin Abū ùālib narrated, “A young girl (jāriyah shābbah) from Khath`am tribe asked [the Prophet] for a verdict. She said, ‘My father is an elderly man upon whom hajj has become obligatory. Will he be rewarded if I perform hajj for him?’ He said, ‘[Yes,] perform hajj for your father.’” `Alī said, "He, then, turned Faðl’s face away (as he was looking at her). So `Abbās (May Allah be pleased with them all) said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why did you turn your cousin’s face away?’ He said, ‘I saw a young man and a young woman, and they were not safe from Shayøān.’’ (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 885) 1.6 The Prophet (Allah bless and give him peace) said, “A woman in iúrām should not wear niqab or gloves.” (al-Bukhārī 1838) 🔥NIQAB: 2.1 O Prophet, tell your wives and daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves part of their jalābīb (outer garments). (Surah al-Aúzāb 59) 2.2 Sayyidah `Āishah (May Allah be pleased with her) said, “A woman would lower her jilbāb over her head onto her face.” (Fatú al-Bārī 3:406) 2.3 “The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless and give him peace) would order the young girls, the older women, those of úijāb 10 and the menstruating women to attend the two `Īds... One of them said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! What if she does not have a jilbāb?’ He said: ‘Then, let her sister lend her a jilbāb.’” (Sunan al-Tirmidhī 539) 2.4 Sayyidah `Āishah (May Allah be pleased with her) narrated, “While I was sitting, I fell asleep. ýafwān bin al-Mu`aøøal al-Sulamī al-Dhakwānī, who had lagged the army, came to where I was. He saw the body of a person who was asleep. He recognized me when he saw me as he had seen me before [the mandating of] úijāb. I awoke when he recited, ‘Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rāji`ūn’ after recognizing me. I then covered my face with my jilbāb.” (al-Bukhārī 3910, Muslim 2770) 2.5 Sayyidah `Āishah (May Allah be pleased with her) said, “While we were in iúrāmwith the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless and give him peace), riders would pass by us. Whenever they rode alongside one of us women, she would lower her jilbāb from her head over her face. Whenever they had passed on, we would uncover our faces.” (Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1833) 2.6 And when you ask [the Prophet’s wives] for something, ask them from behind a úijāb. That is purer for your hearts and their hearts. (Surah al-Aúzāb 53) 2.7 A woman called Umm Khallād came to the Prophet (Allah bless and give him peace) wearing a niqab. She was searching for her son, who had been killed (during abattle). Some of the Companions of the Prophet (Allah bless and give him peace) said to her, “You have come here asking for your son while veiling your face?” She said, “If I am afflicted with the loss of my son, I will not also suffer the loss of my modesty.” (Sunan Abī Dāwūd 2488) 2.7a Hishām bin `Urwah said, “Ibn Isúāq took hadith from my wife, Fāøimāh bint alMundhir. By Allah, he never saw her.” Imam al-Dhahabõ said, “Hishām is truthful in his oath. [Ibn Isúāq] never saw her. Nor has any man ever alleged that he saw her. Rather, it has only been said that she narrated to him. We (too) have taken hadith from many women and we have never seen them. In the same way, many of the Tabi`ñn14 narrated from Sayyidah `ôishah (May Allah be pleased with her) without ever having seen her face!” (Siyar A`lām al-Nubalā’ 7:37) 2.8 And those old women, who have no hope for marriage, there is no blame on them for putting aside their thiyāb while not displaying their beauty. Still, that they refrain (from this) is better for them. (Surah al-Nūr 6 2.9 `Āüim al-Aúwal said, “We came to ûafüah bint Sirīn while she had her jilbāb in such a way that it covered her face. We said to her, ‘May Allah have mercy on you. Allah ta’āla says, ‘And those old women, who have no hope for marriage, there is no blame on them for putting aside their thiyāb while not displaying their beauty.’ Then she said to us, ‘What comes after that (in the ayah)?’ We then recited, ‘Still, that they refrain (from this) is better for them.’ So she said, ‘That refers to the jilbāb.’” (alBayhaqī 7:93) 2.10 And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts and not to expose their adornment except that which appears from it and to wrap their headcovers over their chests and not to expose their adornment except to their husbands…” (Surah al-Nūr 31) So which one is obligated? Check out this short PFD to see how people from the past (the best generations) understood the evidence. Women who wear the niqab or hijab for the sake of Allah without taking pride in their beauty and displaying it, which is hypocrisy, will undoubtedly get a reward from their Lord (In Sha Allah). Those who have a disease in their hearts would reject the truth, which is a primary cause of arrogance, and Allah, without a doubt, does not GUIDE the arrogant person. So always be sincere with Allah about your feelings and intentions, ask for forgiveness if you've ever felt hypocrisy or arrogance in your heart, and always embrace the truth-even if it goes against who you are-and adjust your ways towards the right act. bukhari2013.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/niqab-8-2.pdf 🔥Don't Leave Without Reading This: The mission of this channel is to give you a warning to stay connected to the content that motivates you towards the only Deen (a set of beliefs and actions) acceptable in the sight of Allah, which is Islam. Remember, you are what you consume, whether in the real or digital world. Your environment gradually changes you, similar to a virus, altering your emotions, thoughts, and psychology. This alteration leads to the normalization of certain feelings, beliefs, and actions. Always remember that the majority is leading you astray from the path of Allah, and the content they produce does the same (Quran 6:116). That's why I urge you to remain connected with Allah by consuming Islamic content EVERY DAY. Open the link below to access the channels I have gathered for you and subscribe to all of them with NOTIFICATIONS. Link: m.youtube.com/@IOnlyFearAllah007/channels And think, why would I give you this message? I gain nothing in this world when you watch those channels. I did that because I love you for the sake of Allah. So, I genuinely request you again to follow my advice and watch Islamic content DAILY for motivation. Otherwise, you may lose whatever motivation you have left in your heart and die in that state, May Allah forbid that. Muhammad ﷺ said: A man follows the religion (Deen) of his friend, so each one should consider whom he makes his friend. (Sunan Abi Dawud 4833) In the age of the internet, the individuals you watch the most online are your friends, and you are essentially following their religion.

Very good approach. The same way you should study all verses and how they were understood! like when the quran confuses mary, mother of Jesus with miriam, sister of Moses in Sura 19,27-28 and sura 66,12 complemented by Sahih Muslim 5326. There are many errors and contradictions in the Quran. Or even "revelations" mohammed came up with for his own benefit like Sura 66,1-2 and Sunan An Nasai 4 36 3411. Your own sources documented the fake-prophet lying and havings female slaves for his pleasure: "It was narrated from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah had a female slave with whom he had intercourse, but 'Aishah and Hafsah would not leave him alone until he said that she was forbidden for him. Then Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, revealed: "O Prophet! Why do you forbid (for yourself) that which Allah has allowed to you.' until the end of the Verse."

Still very unclear. Because you have assured your listeners that the language of Quraan is Arabic makes it easy for any shaykh or speaker to translate it however he/she sees fit…. What you have failed to do is make it clear to everyone that the language of Quraan is لسان which means tongue (this in itself is a whole large and very detailed chapter). Therefore it is not the common Arabic language created by the the Arab grammar expert, poets and Arabic language scholars. The Quraan in itself it to be understood by all…. Arabs have simplified it as well as complicated it to suit their greedy needs. My personal opinion about this very video is that the chest (breasts) is what is meant to be covered and not the hair. Breasts are far more appealing and attention seeking than hair.

If you have committed any of these acts, you are in God's eyes a liar, a murderer and a thief! Under these conditions, you will spend eternity in HELL!!! But this is not God's desire for you. JESUS CHRIST died for you and rose again on the third day. HE did this so that you would be forgiven of your sins and have a relationship with God. NO ladies’HIJAB found in the Quran. The word HIJAB is used in the Quran but not for ladies. The word is KHIMAR in the Quran24:31 - Root Meaning of KHIMAR is just COVERING, it can also be a neck scarf, any scarf, dupatta, chadar, etc. There is no head, hair, veil, niqab or any such importance in the Quran, but the EXPLANATIONS of ‘Sect’ /Firqa leaders promoted it - by adding it in books written much later after the Quran AND by adding words with brackets in translations and explanations - and also these Firqa leaders wrote the Dictionary centuries later to push their meanings - ask them : when and who wrote the Dictionary that they show their meanings from? - we should not accept new meanings to the words after the word is used in the Quran - now the meanings can be understood by checking the same word usage within the Quran - see where it is used again. They should know when the same root word is used for intoxicants even then it’s used for COVER - any intoxicant or alcohol COVERS the ability inside the mind - NOTE : it does not cover the hair or outer-head. - by Searching transliteration of Q24.31: “yadribna bi’Khumur’ihinna ala juyoob’ihinna” [Plurals : khumur, juyoob] - The importance is about : *..put forth the Khimars OVER THE JAYBs…* Jayb just means OPENING, - like an opening in a dress, deep-neck, like shirt pocket - is a jayb (or) some people translate it as chest/ bosoms coz that’s where the Jayb is. - *they took the desert clothing that is needed in sand storms and called it religion* How can a religion claiming to be for the whole world - promote desert clothing for far off freezing lands? IF anyone wants TO FOLLOW WORDS OF ALLAH then they should verify with the Quran - coz every secondary source should match with the Quran AND they should not add words in translations. The other verse in the Quran 33.59 is about JILBAB - it’s about wearing loose clothing, where it also says that “they can be RECOGNISED and not harassed” So the condition is to be recognised : how will anyone RECOGNISE if you cover fully - like a tent? - so avoid tight clothing - it’s really simple as per Quran. Some of them will not VERIFY what is in the Quran - word by word. And you may get to see how they will jump to start calling IGNORANT and names to the person showing them the research.

That word "Khimar" may have meant anything that was used to cover anything, the root of the problem is that Nouman and everyone of the same point of view, misses the whole point of the aayah. Khimar may have covered the head or face, but WHAT IS ALLAH ASKING YOU TO DO WITH IT ??? It is to cover the female Breasts. That is the whole point of the verse, no matter what "khimar" meant or was used for. I've seen many chicks displaying their boobs in public despite wearing the head cover. That's rubbish and it happened because the point made in the verse was missed. The importance is given to the breasts, not he head or face, in that verse of Surah Noor. But Muslims wanna do the exact opposite. These ahkamaat were given to prevent illegitimate sex. Faces or hair don't serve much to encourage illegitimate sex no matter how much you decorate them, but boobies sure do, even if they are displayed a tiny bit, they are a clear invitation for it. So that is what is being asked to be covered with the khimaar.
@Goodfellow62
@Goodfellow62 2 года назад
Even if we assume that "Khimar" was used in Arabia to cover the head and hair, this verse does not say that the khimar should be covering the head & hair. It says pull the khimar to cover the breasts (emphasis is on covering the breast, not head/hair). So if a woman has her khimar laying loosely on her shoulders with the hair fully exposed, as long as the khimar is covering her breasts, the demand of this Aya is fulfilled.

Khimar means covers, and the Qur'an is telling woman where to put them, over their chests. We then have 'scholars' say that it is a head covering, that the hair has to be covered, then the face, then one and then two eyes! If we stick to what Allah intended in His Book, then men and women must lower their gaze, be modest in their behaviour, and women should additionally cover up that area which can lead to immodesty, the chest. Hijab as a head/hair cover is therefore not an Islamic requirement and making it so is adding to the complete and fully detailed Word, Teachings of Allah which is bida, innovation. If you say there is no problem with women who do not want to wear an hijab then then this is a clear statement that the Qur'an has not mandated it; it makes compulsory many things for believers but not hijab, so do not innovate and do not make up head covers are to be kept on head and thrown over chests, this makes no sense. Hadith mentions the hijab and that is why some are reluctant or unable to get rid of it!

He’s right. But Quran emphasizes on women covering their chest, not on women should never let people see their hair or their faces. As he said, at the time all Arabic people, men as women wear head scarf and there are practical and cultural reasons for that, so the point of the surah is not head coverings but body covering. I saw some Muslim ice skater wearing a hijab but wearing mini skirt showing their underwear, this is pure nonsense. I see no problem in women wearing hijab or whatever scarf on the head, but the problem is to make it a sharia law. These clothes are mid eastern traditional clothes and are perceive as it, so if every women of other country who wants to become Muslim have to wear it, it is perceive as a change of nationality by their compatriots because she’ll be wearing the traditional clothe of another country, it may prevent many women to even consider to convert because most don’t want to be perceived as turning back to their nation and their family. I know some countries where Islam is seen as a nationality not a religion. The goal of Islam is not to make all nations Arab, but to make all nations believer of Allah. If you can make all women on Earth believers of Allah without wearing hijab, or only 10% with hijab, what would you choose? To make Hijab obligatory is counterproductive for the spread of Islam. (But if you live a country where it’s the tradition or the law to wear a scarf , you should wear it to not disturb people.)

I get that the original khimar was over the head, and then they were told to let it hang on the front to cover the chest. Which is understandable since a woman's chest is very sexualized in nature. What I don't get is the overall rule that no hair should be shown at all. Because in the original khimar was just a veil over the head and many people used this, even the jews and in europe, it was worn over the head but it wasn't necesarry for it to cover ALL the hair. It was over the head but if some hair was shown is was ok. It was simply how women dressed at the time, and then Muhammad said "make sure to cover the chest" which is totally understandable from a modesty point of view. But the fixation on "no hair should be shown at all" I don't get, or covering the face/eyes, it seems extremist and even an exaggeration of the Quran.

The hijab or head covering actually started off as a Jewish head covering, later also adopted by Christianity and as people converted to Islam it was adopted by Muslims > so a hijab or head covering is not a requirement for Muslims but has been propagated as such by mullahs > women are free to wear the hijab or not as they wish but is NOT a requirement under Islam!🇵🇰

It is a commandment for believing women, first of all. Wearing a hijab is a sign of her faith to Allah. It is a struggle for other women. Hence for believing Muslim women, it's either a quick acceptance, a transition or rejection. What a woman does outside reflects her faith or lack thereof.

Exactly bro, it's sad when Islamic preachers produce false information by lack of understanding language. The "burka" is what the Quran doesn't speak of, but it's obvious a woman should cover her head with a small scarf in public, like Mariam (peace be with her) but woman are not required to cover their whole face, because that produces a problem of not being able to identify a person in public. As it's recommended to wear a hijab, because people need to be identifiable in public.

Or else, a man could wear a burka, and pretend to be a woman in public and nobody would know, or be able to tell. This is how foreigners infiltrated the middle east, men dressed in n burkas, and are unable to be identified.

NO ladies’HIJAB found in the Quran. The word HIJAB is used in the Quran but not for ladies. The word is KHIMAR in Surah Noor - that is Quran24:31 - Root Meaning of KHIMAR is just COVERING, it can also be a neck scarf, any scarf, dupatta etc. Also there is NO burqa, veil, niqab or any such importance of hair, head, face cover found in the Quran BUT the EXPLANATIONS of ‘Sect’ /Firqa Mou|vee promoted Hijab, niqab etc - by adding it in books written much later after the Quran AND by adding words with /without brackets in translations and explanations - and ALSO these Firqa leaders wrote the Dictionary centuries later. - ask them : when and who wrote the Dictionary they show their meanings from?. - by Searching transliteration of Q24.31: “yadribna bi’Khumur’ihinna ala juyoob’ihinna” - The importance is about : *..put forth the Khimar over the JAYB…* Jayb just means OPENING, - like an opening in a dress or some people translate it as chest/ bosoms. [Plural is: khumur, juyoob] - *they took the desert clothing that is needed in sand storms and called it religion* How can a religion claiming to be for the whole world - promote desert clothing for far off freezing lands? IF anyone wants TO FOLLOW WORDS OF ALLAH then they should verify with the Quran - coz every secondary source should match with the Quran AND they should not add words in translations. The other verse in Surah Ahzab that is Quran 33.59 is about JILBAB - it’s about wearing loose clothing, where it also says that “they can be RECOGNISED and not harassed” So the condition is to be recognised : how will anyone RECOGNISE if you cover fully - like a tent? - so avoid tight clothing - it’s really simple as per Quran. Some of them will not VERIFY what is in the Quran - word by word. And you may get to see how they will jump to start calling IGNORANT and names to the person showing them the research.

pre-islam women and men of the area used to wear a head cover probably because of environmental factors such as sun and dust. however, women would also bare their chests or part of it. the ayah mentioned suggests they drape the khimar forward to cover their chest area. so if a woman asks if she should wear a khimar, it seems logical that according to this ayah, the answer should be: no, as long as you wear something that covers your chest.

I do not agree with your extension of meaning of the Ayah. The direct meaning of the verse is to cover the chest. That is the private sexual part of a woman. You are extending meaning to cover the head. Head was covered by Muslims and nonMuslims at that time. Extending the meaning of Quran beyond what is specifically stated is dangerous. So if Quran says cover your chest with the cloth used for head covering and that means head covering is included, then it also includes the type of head covering using the specific style and cloth and on and on. Head at that time was covered by men and women. The purpose was to escape the sun and sand. The purpose was not to maintain modesty. The head covering was due to the culture and the result if the environment.

It's misleading to translate "khimar" as head-covering. Khimar refers to an outer garment that obscures the woman's shape. The word khamr in the Qur'an also refers to an intoxicant, ie. a substance that obscures the mind, NOT the head. Stop pushing your borrowed meanings from Arabic traditions or hadith stories falsely attributed to the Prophet.

The issue here is that people are trying to interpret the Qur'an which was sent to the prophet in the 7th century. Language is fluid the meaning of words change over the ages. So one cannot definitively say this is what this word meant. If we look at Islam we have 5 pillars of belief. Shahadah Prayer Ramadan Charity Hajj But all these scholars seem to spend most of their time debating about how women should cover their hair. Cover thy bosom is what I have read in English translations as I'm not a native Arabic speaker. The Muslim Ummah is under attack in every sphere of our lives, why are not real social issues addressed such as grooming gangs, Muslim men who have illegitimate children with non Muslim women, alcohol abuse in the community etc, etc. Is it because the vast majority of the perpetrators in these crimes are men that they are not discussed? All the above mentioned acts are haram in Islam. But people just want to talk about how women should cover their hair as if this was the most important part about being a Muslim.

Let us all be clear and honest, if you're not willing to wear the hijab, you just have to make your mind, don't start searching in the Quran or elsewhere, we're in the 21th century, everything is so clear for those with pure hearts and intentions. Yeah, as a reverted I used to understand that body image give you power. That's probably why girl use money for makeup, clothes, just making them more powerful, self confident. But I was also super concerned in eguality : what if you don't look like standards (meaning you re ugly) ? You still can be intelligent, good person ect, and no one care. So covering is eguality, and modesty in covering too, then no money make a difference. That make logic that men cover too, and the fact in Occidental culture women needs too be pretty to be powerful leads men to less uncover than women, probably due too "natural power" ( I mean common sexism). So we have people trying to have power, not being free in what they wear if they want to be powerful. And they have to be or they are not considered intelligent, or no one listen ect. And this is not nice. Better that powerfulness came with your mind, your behaviour. That's how, while I don't have the explanations of this video, I chose to interpret veil as a cover, for the head, for the body, for everything. I may be wrong. I hope no.

It was not an argument before, because women weren't allowed to speak their opinion in most areas. You can still see it in the comments, that when someone shares an opinion the majority doesn't agree with, they are ridiculed. How would people bring forth this idea. Also, you can't say "Women used to wear it before Islam." The pre-Islamic people used to pray to idols, it doesn't mean we pray like them. The prayer was reformed, its direction from Jerusalem to Mecca, and the movements. Likewise, we don't just take what "women did before", instead we look at what was taught to us in the Quran.

Just so we are clear, ‘hijab’ was mentioned in the Quran. I don’t know where y’all be getting your ‘facts’ from. Two forms of the word was used in the Quran 8 times; hijab 7 times, and mahjubun once. And as Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan said above, it means screen, a fence and the likes. It was mandated for the prophet’s wives as seen in Q33 V53, so that the companions could not even see their figure, they’d have to speak to them with a curtain, or some sort of barrier between them and the wives of the prophet pbuh. The ones that apply to the muslim women is the jalabeeb as seen in Q33 V59, and jalabeeb is a dress; and Khumur as seen in Q24 V31 which is the head covering that mustn’t be see through, and was mandated to be ‘brought down’ over the cleavage area, and beyond. Another word that was used to refer to veil in the Quran is the Thiyab as seen in Q24 V58 and 60, which is one’s ‘house cloth’, and basically how one ought to dress in the house. Where the confusion lies is that a lot of people, scholars included, fail to make these distinctions, they just interpret them as the head veil even though they might not be referring to them. And the use of the ‘hijab’ to refer to the ‘khumur’ is how some critics have come to think that the ‘Niqab’ is expected to apply when a woman gets married - (‘Niqab’ is not the right word either). The Hijab was expected to apply to the wives of the prophet pbuh, just as the injunction not to marry the wives of the prophet after him applies to only the wives of the prophet pbuh as seen in the same V53 of Q33 that mandates the hijab on them. Anyway, I’m working on an exegesis on the veil in the Quran, when I’m done writing it, I will InshaAllah post it as a reply to this comment, for a deeper dive into these words, and their Classical Arabic nuances that translators gloss over for ease of communication. All that written, ease yourself into it, let your faith guide you, not pressure; you can get over pressure, but faith will always keep you grounded. Salam.

I don't like the fact that women have to cover their entire body now because men have sinful thoughts.. like it is the woman's fault. This man does a beautiful job explaining the Hijab. I have been watching the Magnificent Century and the women wear veils. Women should be modest but there are so many that don't want to be and that should be okay too. I heard the English version of the Quran is watered down.... (I was thinking about getting one to learn more) that the English says to chastise women and in the other one beat the woman. I have no respect for men that beats a woman at all. anyways........ thank you for this video I liked it a lot

I recently encounter a post, saying Sura Nur has ayah that says women should wear borkah (something that covers the whole body from head to toe) and hijab. So I tried to study from different translation and explanation. And I understood the ayah is about hijab/khimar, about covering head and have cloth over chest. And of course a modest attire that doesn't show off the shape of the body (so the dress could be anything, not specifically a borkah). Is my understanding right?

Understand that conversational arabic has a multitude of dialects and a word can have multiple meanings, depending in which context it is used. If you are Arab or have been around enough Arabs, from different countries across the Middle East, you would know that. Khimar in classical definition is a covering (not necessarily for the head) and it is 'advised' in the Quran to cover ones bosom, something majority of women do irrespective of religion, for obvious reasons. It doesn't say that it is 'fardh' (ie compulsory) nor does it say that it is 'haram' not to do so (that is if you interpret as a head covering). Differentiate between verses that are CLEARLY stating what is halal and harm, and those that are advisory in nature. Too many scholars try to propagate advisory verses as absolute haram if not followed. This is wrong and has lead to so many problems in society. That being said, cover your head if you want, interpret the verse as you want.. but please do not preach your interpretation as the word of God and allow Him to judge, as forcing or demonising women for not accepting and living by your interpretation is a far greater sin than what you perceive they are committing by not wearing a 'hijab' or 'khimar' as you see it. Let people live according to their God given Free Will. Worry about your own sins and how you might fare when you stand alone before God on the Day of Judgement and possibly be held accountable for your judgement of others. On that day, your comparative analysis will not help you.

I think the way this was explained was very articulate and well thought out. I see from a linguistic POV what the gentleman means. Old Arabic/most older languages tend to be very high context languages. One word has 10 meanings thus context is important. (In contrast to something like German which is a very low context language meaning there is one word with only one or two meanings.) The disconnect that is still stopping me from accepting this gentleman’s analysis as absolute truth is the historical evidence that the modesty practiced today by many Muslim women did not come from Islam itself, but rather was inspired by the veils Catholic and orthodox women wear when they enter the church, the Nun’s Habit, as well as the Jewish practice of covering once a woman is married. These religious practices became more fashion than religious after a bit. If that could be put into context of the linguistic analysis I heard today, would love to hear this gentleman’s insight. In every command of Allah are immense wisdoms. Man’s intelligence is short-sighted and weak. He cannot fathom the deep secrets and wisdoms underlying Divine commands. The object of the servant should only be to adhere to the commands of Allah since He knows what is most beneficial for us. At times, certain commands go completely against our bestial desires and the norms of society. One will thus have to go against the customs of society and fulfil this command of Allah, since this is an immense trial for which we will be recompensed in the hereafter. Nabi ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said, “Whoever holds firmly onto my Sunnah (way) at the time of the corruption of my ummah will receive the reward of 100 martyrs.” (Mishkat) The reason for this great reward is that when a person will practise on these actions, he will be criticized, rebuked and mocked. He will have to bear these remarks and insults with tolerance and patience. One such command is observing hijab from one’s brother-in- laws, cousins, husband’s uncles, husband’s nephews, and other such male relatives which Islam regards to be strangers to a woman. Rasulullah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) was asked regarding the brother-in- law. He ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) replied that the brother-in- law is death. (Bukhari, Muslim)

If I say the word jihadist today the interpretation of our time is some extreme person willing to kill anyone, however this meaning cannot be applied in similar context a hundred years ago. Human perception of language may change over the years but Tules of Allah do not change wi to language or culture, word khimar itself is not important, the meaning of the verse is simple and clear and that is what is important, if we view khimar as not a head cover now then that does not imply Allah’s rule is not applicable anymore.

Exactly my point as well!! It was culturally worn pre-Islam and was never a command from God. The actual command is for women to use that to cover their bosom. Can’t understand why people want to argue this. If you’re arab then wear it but don’t bring it into Islam and say it was commanded by God. I have great respect for Nouman Ali Khan, he is an exceptional scholar of Islam. However, I do not agree with this methodology in this instance in response to this woman's idea. Firstly. The Arabic language is so deep with meaning and the langue shows that for itself. Yes Khimar, is layered with meanings, which shows the cultural impact of the word Khimar, even the respective scholar describes these different contexts(e.g the horse/men/etc). This just shows how one word can mean so many things. Making something compulsory based on one meaning of the one word; not the full text, is not substantial enough to interpret it as a direct order from Allah. If we apply this methodology to every word in the Arabic language we will be making rules up left right and Centre. Clearly, the revelation came down to correcting some parts of their cultural dress. I am assuming women used to expose their chest and maybe their cleavage, based on the verse. if we look at the climate in Arabia (the hot dessert), women might have been exposing their chests as a result. When the weather is hot everyone has a natural inclination to wear thin, loose clothes to be more comfortable in the heat. So just try to imagine what the pre-Islamic Arabian fashion must have been like. When it is hot, we are not going to wear polar neck jumpers because that would be stupid, right? So understanding what Arabian people were already wearing based on the climate is crucial to the subject of this Ayah. In the Ayah with the Khimar, 'the adornments' is something that adds attractiveness, a reference to make-up, beautifying oneself, or adornment to an extent that can become a cause of attraction. Hair is not something that adds attractiveness as it is inherently there... The verse is telling women to not display their adornments/beauty... except adornments/beauty that are naturally apparent, e.g. beautiful face, eyes, hair etc. Then it tells women to cover their breasts/chests. It mentions this after the verse about what normally appears to signify that breasts do not fall into the category of what normally appears. Although the verse tells women to draw their head-coverings over their breasts, that doesn’t mean that women must cover their heads or hair. Nowhere does this verse mention the word "hair". If Allah really wanted women to cover their hair, He could have simply said "and let them draw their head-covering over their hair/bosoms/chests, but He didn't. When a man sees a woman's breasts, actually science now tells us a part of his brain activates the arousal part of his brain. Since when does a man get aroused over hair? Any man or scientist will tell you... they don't. It must have been very common for women to expose their chests in the hot desert as it was for them to cover their heads. And so it was a common cultural practice and practical one. And so Allah - (All-Knowing)has a simple, effective solution that would not trouble the women in the heat. In the Ayah, Allah gracefully gives them a simple solution, take what you already have on your heads(Khimar), and cover your chest with it. simple. It is not about women covering their hair. If a woman decided to cover up her chest by other means based on different cultural styles. would this be a problem? No of course not. And so if a Khimar was not part of a cultural custom, would this also be a problem?? Khimar has no religious significance, if it did, we would be calling the so-called "hijaab" or "burqa"... Khimar. We would be using this as the original word in the Qur'an if it was a clear cut order. Throughout time we would have adopted this word, instead of "burqa" "hijaab" etc. We would have a strict code for labelling this headscarf based on the Qur'an. Why is there no such wording? Because it was never instructed in the first place. The verse also makes exceptions for that which "normally/necessary" appears, which are the face/hair/hands/ankles/feet etc. It is likely women and men would wear the khimar loosely (it was the dessert) and their hair must have shown even with it on because it was loosely worn, or women would tie it around their ponytails ect(there were many styles). So some parts of the hair might have been shown through these styles, in the front or back. Allah does not direct women to keep the Khimars on nor does He emphasize on those who possibly did not wear one(if they didn't).. Allah knows. Throughout the Quran, compulsory rulings are very clear. Why has not mentioned anything about it? The only answer is, Allah has not placed any commandments on this or else our All Mighty Allah would have stated it as He does with all other Laws! May Allah guide us all in seeking knowledge. Peace and blessing SURAH AN-NUR AYAT 31 (24:31 QURAN) "And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women."

am sorry but as an Arabic native speaker, am really confused right now. You said that “in the ayah with khimar the subject matter is the adornments which are private parts, being their breasts and based on this you explained the whole thing about men getting aroused and no one will get aroused by hair” (please correct me if I misunderstood you) adornments which is referred to as زِينَتَهُنَّ are not private parts, private parts are referred to as فُرُوجَهُنَّ. Even in arabic, the word زينه which is the same word used for adornments means external things that decorates the subject matter and are not part of it. so clearly adornments are NOT private parts (breasts) cause they are part of the female body and also cause the word فُرُوجَهُنَّ means private parts while زِينَتَهُنَّ doesn’t. And I don’t think if adornments mean breasts and private parts that Allah will say it’s fine to show them to all these people mentioned in the ayah. Also you called it cultural custom, I don’t see it this way. Allah revelations like the Torah and Bible also include hijab, it’s not a new invention nor a cultural custom, and so it’s not a thing about culture. It’s a continuity. و الله أعلم.

@@ahmedhafez1441 I am not a native Arabic speaker. I have realised my mistake. Thank you for sharing your thoughts as it has led to my continuity in learning. I have edited my original comment if you would like to read it. Despite the mistake, I believe my points still stand true. Anything that covers something is a covering. A head covering is one kind of khimaar as it covers the head. This applied to both men and women. For example, in hot climates such as in the Middle East, you see men covering their heads due to the heat, even to this day. Due to the climate, they have adopted this head-covering as cultural attire which is still worn. Some people may argue that head covering used in Arabia were not to protect their heads from the heat but to cover women's hair from men. This argument seems invalid since verse 16:81 indicates that God created garments one kind of which was to protect people (both men and women) from the heat. Also, the Arabic word used for “garments” is “sarabeel” which means “anything that is worn” so a head covering falls into that category. 16:81 "And God has made for you, from that which He has created, shadows and has made for you from the mountains, shelters and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments which protect you from your [enemy in] battle." Those who study cultural geography have long understood the close link between cultures and the physical geography of the environments in which those cultures develop. This includes the climate, weather etc. So yeah, it is quite cultural. Why hair is not an 'adornment' Hair is not an adornment as it is similar to the natural beauty of ones face and therefore must be exempt due to the ayah exempting what naturally appears. Men also have hair which can cause attraction for women, so it is unreasonable to consider hair in the same category as breasts. Also, some women have unattractive hair, not all women have beautiful hair. So for them covering their hair actually makes them more beautiful. Therefore we can not assume hair is an adornment. Covering the hair does not make one automatically modest. one could wear a fancy hijab with various embellishments such as diamonds and gold patterns that we see so many women wearing today. In fact, it looks the opposite of modest. If one wears a plain hijab instead of a fancy one. But, they also wear make-up to embellish and beautify their face, which is very common. If the point of wearing the hijab is to make themselves appear modest, then they’ve negated that effort by spending lots of time wearing make-up. wearing make-up is an adornment (zeenah) which, according to the first point in verse 24:31, is forbidden. Many Muslims refer to a woman’s head covering as “hijab”. The word “hijab” is never mentioned in the Quran as a head covering. So if it is not mentioned in the Qur'an as a head covering, then, logically, the word 'hijaab' as a head covering must not be mentioned in the Torah and Bible. If you can find these verses, please send them as I can not find anything about 'hijab' as a head covering. Muslims have very similar practices to Jews even though they are not mentioned nor required in the Quran. the Jewish Bible / Torah also does not require women to cover their hair. Rather, this Jewish requirement came from Jewish secondary sources (Talmud). The Jewish Bible / Torah is like the Quran whereas the Jewish Talmud is like the hadith. Peace&Bleassings.

I would like to mention that in no way or form am an expert, I’m just trying to express my point of view with evidence and you have all your rights to reject or accept them since you’re sincere I agree with you that most of the hijab wore by girls today is not really hijab and covering the head while wearing tight clothes that shows the body is not modest. I just separate between Muslims and Islam, and Allah has given us brains to find the truth regardless of people. You asked me to find verses about Hijab in the Torah and Bible and I do know many in the bible however you’re right about the Jews belief and the Talmud; Bible versus are many, here are some; - Genesis 38:1 - She took her widow’s garments and covered herself with a veil, wrapping herself up, and sat at the entrance to Enaim, which is on the road to Timnah. Fir she saw that Shelah was grown up and she had not been given to him in marriage. - 1 Corinthians 11:14-15 - Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him, but if a women wears long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her for a covering. - Genesis 24:65 - And said to the servant, “Who is that man, walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master” So she took her veil and covered herself. Jews Talmud (NOT Jews Bible); - (Rashi, Bamidbar 5:18) - There are others too but not really important since they’re all explanations of the Jews Bible but not stated directly Anyway, and honestly, I don’t care about the word hijab and I shouldn’t have used it in my previous comment. Cause honestly speaking the word khimar is the right one and more perfect. And for your knowledge, yes the word itself has many meanings but there is a very imp. point here. The root word itself خ م ر (خمر) means everything that makes the head (brain) absent. I also respectfully disagree with you, I see that a women hair is her adornment, in fact most of the arabic poetry included women hair when mentioning her adornments. But of course you’re free to not consider it an adornment. But yet still the root word of Khimar (khamr) is mainly about the head. May Allah guide us all to the truth and helps us follow it.

In bible and Torah it is explicitly mentioned that women must cover their "hair". Quran doesn't have such verse. Hair or head is never mentioned. You said in the quran they should take their khimar and throw it in front of them. It does not says "keep the khimar" or "use that headcover ", that's "your" interpretation, your addition. It gives a description of how to use a piece of cultural garment, as you mentioned which is used by Arabic men also!! Only for them do not need to cover their chest but women does. The organ that is explicitly mentioned is chest/breast. Maybe you should focus on that. Maybe you are one of the people who would like that to mean something that doesn't actually mean!! Moreover the ablution before each prayer is focusing on the parts that are exposed to outside. Hands, face, feet (think about sandalet, we are in arabia so no boots ;) ), neck and head (hair). Those rules are not different from men to women, so the parts that are exposed to outside suppose to be same. If you cover your hair be my guest but I believe god knows how to say "cover your hair".

Next they are going to say being gay is ok. If you want to know. This is what Allah said to Muslim women: O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believing women, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and not molested. Well, men and women both wore such head covers in Arab deserts. It makes sense to cover your head unless you want sand in your hair and also to avoid heat stroke. I am from Bangladesh. In our childhood days our mothers always covered their heads with their sarees never wore Burka. This covering of heads with Saree was also done by Hindu ladies.None of the Muslims n Hindus ladies left house without covering heads. Likewise in the West in past as we have seen in different movies n read in books the ladies always appeared in long dress n covered their heads. I believe that was universal dress code for ladies regardless of geographical boundary n religion. By the way Hijab was non existent in any Muslim countries before Khominis revolution in Iran means 1980.I have seen Muslim women of Iran, Egypt ,Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco , Turkey wearing western dress as well as Bikinis. Many of these ladies used to drink alcohol . I find it very confusing that those who were 1/2 naked few decades back now wearing Hijab? In this regard our Saree is much better more Islamic . Bangladeshi women always covered their legs n never exposed them. we never switched to dress to expose .

Most of the popular understanding of wearing the headscarf was developed (or at least was first written down) by the Assyrians almost 3000 years ago. For them it was a status symbol, professional, upper and middle class women wore it, poor working women did not. The books of fiqh have almost the same rules as the Assyrians, and they remained unchanged until the 19th century. Assyrian culture formed the basis of Persian and Roman law and spread it throughout the western world. At that time there was an inversion. Upwardly mobile poor women could afford it and started wearing it, while rich women gradually stopped. In the muslim world this became an issue, but in the christian it did not. I suspect the decline in the wearing of the headscarf has much to do with shampoo and fashion marketing.

😊Hijab is not a piece of cloth on your head by Asma Bint Shameem Hijab is not a piece of cloth on your head. It’s a way of life. Just because some of the sisters have their head covered, they think that the requirement of Hijaab is fulfilled. They don’t realize that wearing a Hijaab requires much more than just covering your head. Actually, if you think about it, Hijaab is the way you talk…..the way you walk….the very way you carry yourself. In fact, Hijaab is an attitude in itself. Its a whole way of life. Allaah says: “And say to the believing women to lower their gazes, and to guard their private parts, and not to display their beauty (zeenah) except what is apparent of it, and to extend their headcoverings (khimars) to cover their bosoms (jaybs), and not to display their beauty except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their womenfolk, or what their right hands rule (slaves), or the followers from the men who do not feel sexual desire, or the small children to whom the nakedness of women is not apparent, and not to strike their feet (on the ground) so as to make known what they hide of their adornments. And turn in repentance to Allah together, O you believers, in order that you are successful.” (Surat-un-Nur: 31). Here are some of the more common issues in light of this verse about the Hijaab. Well, my head is covered. What more do you want? If you look carefully at the ayah, it clearly states that the head covers (khumur) should be drawn over the neck slits (juyoob). Khumur is the plural of the Arabic word “khimar” which means a headcover. Juyoob is the plural of the Arabic word “jaiyb”, which refers to the neck slit (of the dress). Yet, some sisters just cover their head with something, and think they are fulfilling the rights of Hijaab, although part of their hair or body is showing, or their whole neck and chest area are exposed. Actually, that was the way of the women of Jahilliyah. Al-Qurtubi said: “Women in those days used to cover their heads with the khimar, throwing its ends upon their backs. This left the neck and the upper part of the chest bare, along with the ears. Then Allah commanded them to cover those parts with the khimar.” So secure the scarf well around your face, covering your neck/chest area, and keep those half sleeves and capri pants for your Mahrams Sorry.…tight jeans and short shirt just don’t cut it You can’t wear tight jeans and a short shirt with a piece of cloth on your head and think this is Hijaab. Nor can you wear anything else that is tight, describing the shape of the body in any way, even if it is long. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “In later (generations) of my ummah there will be women who will be dressed but naked. On top of their heads (what looks) like camel humps. They will not enter into paradise or (even) get a smell of it.” (Muslim) If it is see-through, its NOT Hijaab You CANNOT use chiffon or other see through material to cover your hair and body. Everything should be covered and the color of the skin underneath should not be visible. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) once received a thick garment as a gift. He gave it to Osamah b. Zayd, who in turn gave it to his wife. When asked by the Prophet why he did not wear it, Osamah indicated that he gave it to his wife. The Prophet then said to Osamah “ask her to use a “gholalah” under it (the garment) for I fear that it (the garment) may describe the size of her bones.” (Ahmad, Abi-Dawood) (The word gholalah in Arabic means a thick fabric worn under the dress to prevent it from describing the shape of the body). The Hijaab shouldn’t attract attention The dress should not be such that it attracts men’s attention to the woman’s beauty. Allaah clearly states “not to display their beauty (zeenah).” Yet, Subhaan Allaah, some Hijaabi sisters are dressed in such a way that they attract more attention to themselves than they would if they didn’t wear Hijaab!! How could such zeenah be concealed if the dress is designed in a way that it attracts men’s eyes to the woman? It beats the purpose of Hijaab. Allaah tells us: “And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance…” [al-Ahzaab:32] What about make-up and perfume??? Wearing make up is also part of the zeenah that Allaah orders us NOT to display. So if your head and body are appropriately covered yet you are wearing bright red lipstick or dark eyeliner such that people confuse between you and a raccoon….uh sorry, that’s not Hijaab. And keep those nice fragrances for the home, between you and your husband. That’s part of Hijaab too, even if you are going to the Masjid. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “Any woman who puts on perfume and passes by people so that they can smell her fragrance, is an adulteress.” (al-Nasaa’i, Tirmidhi: hasan by Albaani) Tinkling Jewelry and Jingling bracelets ‘Loud’ and tinkling anything, be it jewelry, bracelets, clip-clopping shoes, little bells on clothes, you name it, if it jingles or makes noise, it is against the principles of Hijaab, because it attracts attention to the one wearing it. That is what is meant when Allaah orders us in the above verse…“not to strike their feet (on the ground) so as to make known what they hide of their adornments.” No laughing, joking, or hanging out with non-Mahrams Some sisters assume that since they are properly covered, its okay for them to sit around and talk, laugh, joke, etc. with the men, but that’s not right, even if he is ‘the Shaikh’. Allaah says:”. . . then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease should be moved with desire, but speak in an honorable manner.” [al-Ahzaab:32] So talk to them when there is a specific need, and in a manner that is not necessarily rude, yet it is polite but firm. Staring at the brothers or ‘checking them out’ is NOT Hijaab Allaah orders us to “lower your gaze” in the above verse. Why? Because a single ‘look’ can say more than a thousand words. So, even if you are properly covered, keep those eyes down, conduct yourself with ‘Hayaa’, and avoid ‘fitnah’. ‘Chatting’ on the internet/phone is not part of Hijaab, either There is no such thing as “we’re just friends”. Talking to non-Mahrams is wrong even if it is through the internet or telephone. There are too many stories of illegal relationships, fornications, broken homes, extra-marital affairs and runaway brides to even mention. That is why in Islam anything that leads to haraam is also haraam. Allaah says: “Do not (even) come close to fornication, for it is an indecency, and its way is evil.” (Surah Israa:32) Be careful, even in the way you walk Remember, you are not a runway model displaying the latest fashion. Walk with modesty and hayaa and you will be respected. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “There are two types of the people of Hell that I have not seen yet….women who are clothed yet naked, walking with an enticing gait…..” (Muslim). Don’t shake hands with non-Mahrams. Its part of Hijaab It is not permissible to shake hands with a non-Mahram, because the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than to touch a woman who is not permissible for him.” (at-Tabaraani saheeh by al-Albaani). And no, it is not rude to refuse to shake hands with non-Muslims. Simply politely explain that its part of your religion and they are very understanding. Stay away from the men’s areas I see many sisters entering the Masjid from the men’s entrance, or standing idle in the hallways or where there is a chance of unnecessary mixing with the brothers. What for? Don’t we have a separate entrance for ourselves? Why do you think Allaah ordained the Hijaab in the first place? To avoid fitnah, by reducing temptation and separating the genders. “The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said to the women on his way out of the mosque when he saw men and women mixing together on their way home: ‘Give way (i.e., walk to the sides) as it is not appropriate for you to walk in the middle the road.’ Thereafter, women would walk so close to the wall that their dresses would get caught on it.” (Abu Dawood) Hijaab is also to conceal your sister Although some sisters wear the Hijaab themselves, they forget that they cannot talk about another sister and her beauty in front of their own husbands, brothers, etc. Remember, part of your Hijaab is to cover your sisters ‘awrah’ as well. The Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) said: “No woman should mix with a woman and describe her to her husband so that it is as if he can see her.” (Muslim) May Allah guide us and bless us with the TRUE understanding of His Deen. Ameen. 👍

I love the Quran's way of giving the theme of subject. And that theme so concise that we don't often need a long explanation. So, in the matter of this topic, Quran's theme is simple that women should hide its beauty. That's a simple thing. So, if you follow the theme, you can clearly see where where it's is fitting. Hairs, chest, face etc should be covered. Similarly for men there are restrictions. Now if someone say, I don't like Islam Restrictions then he/she should understand that this life is a test. Either you follow Allah's way or Devil's way. And no one can force the opinions on others because this life is test. So, everyone can easily choose path and then according to that they will get results. So, Brothers/Sisters, it's somehow human nature if we don't want to do something then we start making excuses. So, just submit your will to Allah, and accept whatever he is saying instead of finding excuses. Indeed we can't get everything in this life. May Allah give all of us courage to follow the right path. Ameen.
