"Trench candle". Ukrainians make such candles in the cold season for emergency heating of our soldiers in the trenches. A very effective thing. You can warm up a little, and even cook or warm up food.

Cans with cardboard and wax filler, as cookstoves!! Wow, we made these in Girl Scouts fifty years ago, to take on camping trips.

I learned about the cardboard in the can with paraffin when I was 10 in the girl scouts!

Many people do not have all that equipment to make that heater.

It's called a buddy burner and I learned to make them in the boy scouts back in the '70s.

Nice video and idea as long as you have welding equipment and sheet steel, lol. Why not use an IKEA utensil holder to get your ventilation. It can be adjusted using a #10 can with top and bottoms cut off and one cut to open the can. This can go outside the perforated utensil and slid up and down as needed. Even cheaper, use 2 # 10 cans and drill holes as needed. Good video, thanks for the idea.

Really cool. It made me think of (without the optimized setup) using sawdust soaked with used vegetable oil in a can with vents. I used that as my fuel source when I was a kid (what was available to me... coffee can, lots of sawdust and used vegetable oil... aka: 'trash').

I use an old crock pot to melt my wax. I works great. I also ge wax from garage sales and thrift stores.
