My name is Amanda and my mom introduced me to Don Williams song about my name, when i was little! She'd sing it to me a lot. I'm 39 now and still love and adore this song. He honestly sets you at ease. Amazing singer.
Don Williams has many songs, is a highly brilliant singer, and will always hold a special place in our hearts. How long have you been listening to Williams music?
Have been listening to DON WILLIAMS......... Since the early 1980's. Adored him then & still do. Easy Listening was named after him, no jumping around, fire or action....... Just good 'ole singing, straight from the heart ! Wish he had children to carry opn his legacy ! If you are stressed, angry or agitated....... Play some Don Williams...... a. Calmness comes over you. He WAS the BEST !!!! Sure Miss him..
Yes, one of the best songs ever written and Don Williams sang it fantastically, yet... when it was released in 1973 it only made it to #33 on the country music charts???!! Are you as shocked as I am by that fact? Until I found that out recently, for decades I had assumed it reached #1.
I saw Don in 1979 at the Silver Dollar in Austin, Texas. He came out, sat on a stool and mesmerized the audience for the better part of two hours. He’d sing a tune, chat a little and then go into another of his hits. We were filled with a peace, a joy and a strong sense of quiet reassurance. It was a unique experience and night I’ll never forget.
Don Williams and Jim Reeves are two of a kind never again to have, even as a near imitation. Each of their songs had a message, meaning and a heart to appeal to. Many miss you, Don, so, sooooo much!!!
One of my most wonderful memories was when I was 15 and watching my Dad dancing with my Mom at a D.A.V. Hall in Slidell La..The way they were looking at one another with so much LOVE ..made me tear up a little bit ..I was a little embarrassed when my best friend noticed and made a silly comment.. My Dad passedaway afew years ago and now my beutiful Mother struggles with Alzhemers ....I would give everything I own if I could go back in time to that night..the great thing is that everytime I hear this song I kind of do ...Peace and Lets Love One Another A Little Bit More ..David Lee
I’ve never heard of Don Williams before. Not until I just put the tv on and this live performance was playing. Wow!!! What a song, I love it, 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
@@oviedelta2602 LOL, OK. Unfortunately, very few current country fans are even aware of him. Thereby making him UNDERRATED along with unrecognized...Or are you unable to incorporate those thoughts? Also, in case you didnt understand the scope of my statement, I was paying him the ultimate compliment. "sigh"
I have been listening to oldies songs since I was 18 years old until now.. oldies is the best songs ever I can beat that.. How is the weather over there?

My parents both loved his music. I grew up on his music, mom and dad dancing to to "Amanda". They were so in love. Now, both my parents have gone to be with the Lord, but the best memories of my life are embedded in this song. Love you mom and dad. Love you forever💞💕❤ Thank you Don Williams❤. For my best childhood memories.💞💕❤

This man is special, no doubt about it. He sings with a sensitivity unknown to most performers. I rank him as an "A" player without question. Thank you, Don Williams for much pleasure in my life through your performances. HIckory
Oh how I loved him and his voice. He didn't have to throw water on his audience, smash guitars, or have crazy eyes while singing. He was perfection in his voice. Go sing to the Lord Jesus gentle giant.
Growing up as a young kid in the 70's, this is one of the songs my dad would play guitar and sing. Don Williams sings it almost as good as my daddy did. RIP to both. your missed more than you could of ever known

My mom was named after this song by my grandpa. She was born in 1974 when he was 21. When she was 8 and he was 29 he committed suicide. I never got to meet him but somehow I feel closer to him listening to this song, which is something I have always wanted.
I'm sorry about your Grandpa. I was 24 when I named my daughter Amanda after this song by Don Williams. She was born in 1980, she likes Waylon's version best but she knows she's named Amanda from Don's original version ❤
Grace My brother too "checked out Early" I remind my daughter to LIVE HER LIFE That's Why We had her I hope you find peace, clarity. Your Mom too. Especially Now. ☮️
That was my first wife's name, She past away 10 months ago. She was born 1979 which is actually when the video was shot. I used tell her that I'll luv her forever and ever. And I still say that to her whenever I visit her grave. forever and ever still stands. She was only 35. I still think about her every day, 28 is too young to be a widower and 35 is too young to go.
+Kevin Jackson I'm so sorry to read this. My God rest her soul and ease your pain because I know a broken heart hardly ever mends completely. Stay strong Bro, at least you have her memory.
The Great American Troubadour has been released from his earthly bonds. Rest in Peace Don Williams, Thank you for all the music that touched our souls.
Played in a band for years when I was living in Scotland. When people would would find out I was North American, they'd ask for a country song. I always did this...about a million times. RIP Gentle Giant.,
Don Williams does more to sooth my soul when I am upset than any medical wonder drug ever could. His voice is like a soothing massage that just works out all of the heart ache. Love him! 😍😍
My late dad used to sing this too me. It's weird seeing that at the top coz I am Amanda and I was born in 1974 :)...and I got my first guitar when I was 14 lol x
This was the era when a song told a story...and it took you along for the ride. No back up, no frills, and certainly none of the 4 letter words that are blasted on stage now. I miss good ole country music.

I saw him in Southport ( England) many years ago with my dad, what a performance, a true gentleman and fantastic singer, thanks for the wonderful memories don, my wife and I have a few of your lp's and play them regularly, we have a couple of favourite songs, gypsy woman, Amanda, rodeo man, and many more, rip don may you rest in peace and your beautiful music live on.
One of the greatest country singer's of all time he had some beautiful songs too many to mention he may be gone but his song's will live for ever so easy to listen to R I P.....Don Williams
In 1974 my brother and I started our family's contracting business and all my brother listened to was country music. I started liking it and played it in my truck when he wasn't with me because I had always made fun of it, calling it "hill-billy music." Well, I finally let him know I was a fan also and ate crow. Almost fifty years later our business is still going well and I am a long time country music lover and this song is the one that started it for me. Thank you Mr. Williams.
He's had a unique voice and his song are so amazing, you're so right and his song touches so many heart's even if he's gone, we're bless to still have a piece of him
Some broken heart never mend. I miss the good old days when we had the best of country music and the most creative and unique songwriters. Each song had a story related to your current circumstances. Miss you Don, Elton, Tammy, Kenny, Lionel and all that made our 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s 💿 the best. I was privileged to be amongst those who had the chance to grow up with these songs. Do you feel privileged, too?
+Sandra Burke I've seen Don in concert and this is just the way he sings. Of course, the song has a different feeling when Waylon sings it. Either version still tells the same story. And what husband doesn't feel this way about his wife? Whether you're playing a guitar or a computer, a good husband wants the best for his wife.
Such a legend, When i was a teen my parents would play country music records, while getting ready to go out to the legion to dance. i remember Tulsa time. I was young, I loved Tulsa time. But as i got older, Many many more songs would become my favorites. he was soo talented . R.I.P
We named our daughter Amanda after this song, she was born January 22, 1978 She loves country music and I let her know recently that she was named after a country song ! She had not really thought about that previously ♥️
Simply the best. RIP Don Williams. Your music was "our best friend" ol buddy. Our lives would not have been the same, without you, and your 100% attention to perfect delivery and performance. I hope all musicians everywhere will be inspired by your standards. Thank you thank you thank you, Don. Goodbye. Rest on our tears.
I meet Don Williams in Austin, Texas many years ago in the early seventies, I saw myself in many of his songs. I was honored to be with him on his last day on the stage sharing himself to all.
I have been listening to oldies songs since I was 18 years old until now.. oldies is the best songs ever I can beat that.. How is the weather over there?

Don Williams was the first concert I was blessed to attend. He was beautifully in tune and gentlemanly. No concert I have attended I has ever achieved what he did with his voice and demeanor, he had a fatherly affect on me that has continued throughout my life. Love you Don.
I have loved listening to Don Williams for a long time and will continue to listen to him for a lot longer I think he was one of the best Country Music singers ever to set foot on a stage .Love and miss him
My son loved Don Williams from an early age, around 10 months old. I took him to a concert at age 14 months; I am not sure who enjoyed the Don Williams concert the most. My toddler or the audience; we had front row seats. Don Williams saw my toddler loving his music !
Lovely song from Don Williams. Very heartwarming yet relaxing. One thing about Don I like is his excellent DICTION, his near-perfect “s” (surprise, shoulders, eyes). Anyone noticed that? In the live concert, Billy Sanford his electric guitarist plays this instrumental so beautifully, such a sublime sound.

The Best Version Of Amanda ever done, I seen Don in Austin long time ago, used to be a thing every summer called Willy-Fest .. even poor buskers living in the Oak Springs shelter were welcome.
