I thank God for my dad everyday, but if anyone had been my dad besides my dad, I would have wanted Don Williams for my dad. He just seems like a great guy to be your dad.
If you know how long we will love Don Williams and his music then you will know what Infinity is. A truly amazing artist, singer and musician. I just come here for the music, don’t that singer sound so good describes listening to Don Williams. Thanks Don for all the music and memories. We will always cherish you and your music in our heart of hearts.
Sitting on the edge of my chair, waiting for the words to roll out of his mouth. Truly a man with a humble spirit straight from God. That is the man I need here on the farm, not enough of the good ole boys to go around. Sometimes his songs make me cry and I don't even know why.
Just got to see Don once. What he said at the end of the video, that he couldn't possibly gave as much as he got from the audience, is truly how he came across. Humility
First time I ever heard Don Williams was with my Dad. The first song I listened to with him was "Good Ole Boys Like Me" and I've been hook ever since. I still remember being 8 years old falling asleep listening to that song and imaging that lyrics that says "...I can still feel the soft summer wind in the live oak trees" and wishing I could be outside in the summer night with wind blowing and roaming through the woods. Good memories....
What a nice group of comments from some of the best singers on the planet. It's so refreshing to hear such talented people celebrating not themselves, but the achievements of another.
Wow Don Williams was the first person I ever saw live, my parents weren't sure I'd enjoy it, but it's the best most real performance I have ever seen. No gimmiks just him a stage and fantastic music, and when he came to Halifax England again I had to see him again. xx
2021. Never got to see Don😢. But he’s been with me all my life and when things start getting too hectic I’ll back up and listen to him for a while. He’s so beautiful and calming and down to earth he takes me back to the roots of who I am. I miss him.
Don Williams ( simply timeless ) I have always loved him . Got to meet him in Lula MS and the band . He signed one of my guitars and the words he said we're " Oh Ben , You don't want me to scuff up that Beautiful guitar " and I said , Yes sir , In Big Bold Letters , I do please . Great human being !
Just saw Don in concert last night and am going to see him again on Sunday night, what a voice, I've been to see him every time he comes to Ireland since 1994, and he's just brilliant.
I was very lucky he sat with me twice and sang to me I bin to a lot off concerts and he was a gentle man and very kind I will miss him r I p don williams xxx
The greatest country singer of all time!! My 3 year old grandson LOVES Don Williams and we have to have (his idea) "Don Williams Dance Parties," playing live footage of his performances on RU-vid while we all dance and sing along!
NO one had a voice like Don,,,,NO ONE,,, Don was truly one of a kind, I'm so glad I got to hear him in concert back in the late 90's , His whole performance blew me away. !! And NO one will ever replace him nor all the greats how have left us, so recently,,
the first time i heard him i felt true love brotherly love. there was no love in my house growing up and he gave me courage to go on.up to that point all i could think of was suiside. because i could not bear the hatred and abuse in my home. he is my hero and will always be my favorite singer. love him always karla
Nate Whitelock, you nailed it right ! :-) been a Don williams fan since grade school and grateful , indeed, that he remained true to the kind of music he plays and sings for all of us ...such gift and talent and a good man ...
Give me the choice between having (a) the mellow talent of Don Williams or (b) any billion dollars. I chose the mellow talent any day. Far and away a tremendous gift to music MHSRIP.
Don William is the star. I bought one of his song books (sheet music) because I started learning the guitar. In the intro they write about him, as well as Bob McGill and Roger Cook. There, Don says he puts the music before himself. I think that this is what is lacking in other music, where people put their ego before the music itself, sop we hear more about themselves in newspapers the music.
Unlike Keith here I can remember my first introduction to Don's Music, I was 19 and got my dad to buy a home stereo, He also picked up an album of his greatest hits 2, Thanks to Till the rivers all run dry, and She never knew me, I have been a fan for 35 + years 30 cassettes 6 cd's and a few albums later, My mouth is watering at the thought of owning the next release. Thank You Don for all the songs and feelings that seemed to allign with my heart over these many years. Awaiting the Gold :-)
Don the man ! I was lucky, very lucky. In my time i got to see him 4 times. Shook hands with him & we talked ,then he signed his autograph for me.No other singer comes even close. Ken Gibson. (ENGLAND).
I met don one summer we were fishing outside of corpus on a boat and him and some other gentleman pulled up asked how the fishing was sure enough we end up going on that boat for abit and he sang “imagine that” & “if Hollywood don’t need you” some of my favorites in that little time we were with em felt like I knew him all my life, miss you don😭
He's got something that is lacking in most of the music field. Class. He's a gentleman. He's a great performer and always has been but I think his personality just seeps through every pore to a point that you can hear who he is in his voice. I'm so glad that he's still out there bringing some light to THIS generation too.
Don Williams has the greatest /best quality voice sound of all singers I've ever seen in the world. I love his quality clean , pleasant , super intonating pitch sounds. He knows how to sing with quality, not to scream like those many stupid-superstar-jerks who make our ears to bleed & their own vocal chords to bleed out too.
I first saw Don williams on stage at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi Texas in the mid 60s. He was one of a trio, the Pozo Seco Singers who had a string of fairly successful folk albums but whose fame was short lived. A very few years later his name started coming up on the AM dial regularly. He had switched to country and was producing music that is to this day my choice for relaxed listening. I like a long list of country singers, but Don occupies the top half dozen places. I doubt we'll ever see his peer.
Went to see Don Williams tonight Monday 7th May 2012 at The Regent Theatre Ipswich Suffolk UK and it was just simply the best, magic, just the greatest country music you'd ever want to hear from a living Legend of the caliber of Don Williams, Don when you coming back? we want to know please...regards...Randy Williams
agree in every point! I am a Fan of his music for more than 20 years now, he is one of the best voices we have in the music world. Haven't seen him live yet, maybe he would come over ;-) It's not that far from the UK to little tiny germany...
I literally said please do infinity and as soon as I said that it popped up literally made my day, such a good written and great sung song, Rip Mr.williams
There are very few country singers in Nashville, that is in the same category as Don Williams and that sad. True country music has lost its way there's very few singers left to keep it alive.
So time keeps going to the moment becomes years and a life is passed and aword was not spoken a thought was never shared a smile was the only seen and accepted
