Some of this forgetfulness is borderline scary. Like maybe something else is at play. I have to pre-plan & set reminders but would never forget when/where to pick up my kid! Thyroid dysfunction, history of head trauma, mini-strokes & early onset dementia impair memory too. I find it interesting these women have co-occurring depression--I was treated for "treatment-resistant" depression for DECADES before getting the right diagnosis of ADD, self-medicating w/ stimulants the whole time. Nothing else works at all.
It was called MBD in the '50s & '60s. Minimal Brain Damage/Dysfunction. That name was better IMO because ADHD only describes 2 of many symptoms & makes it too easy for ignorant ppl to write it off. "NO kid can focus for 8 hours in a boring classroom!" "We were all hyper at that age." But it's so much more--a developmental disorder that lasts a lifetime, affects both sexes & impacts everything from motivation & focus to sensory processing, mood regulation, sleep, decision-making & impulse control, & yeah, Phil was dope.
