That’s the truth bro. I know how it is exactly. When u reach a certain point in your life, have everything. Shit paid off etc. U lose the hunger to go out n grind everyday
@@alucard5055 I think OP means not just kicking him to the curb all together. He's a charismatic ambassador to the sport, his contributions outside of the octagon could be just as significant as inside.
That interview hit me so hard . I may not be in your same shoes cowboy but I know that feeling .. I was a firefighter till I got medically retired, and it was the best job ever. I sometimes look at my son and ever wonder if hes proud of me and what I have done . It kills me when I'm down and bothers me all the time. Now all he sees is a man that cant bend to quick and move as fast as he used too. I hope one day for my son to be as proud as your son is and will be of yours .n god bless
Not sure how old your son is, but it took me 27 years until I was able to open up to my dad about how proud of him I am, and how he’s my hero. Not that I didn’t feel that way my whole life, my dad has always been Superman to me, we just didn’t express ourselves that way. Now that my old man has a head full of grey hairs, perspectives change and these days I pour my heart out to him because I want him to know how great of a job he did, and how grateful I am to be his son. I’m sure your son feels the same way man! Hope you’re able to enjoy retirement sir! Thank you for your service 💯
The look in his eyes when he begins talking about his son and his legacy, like he's seeing his whole life in that moment. It looks like peace. Like pure peace and content. Lets go Cerrone!!!
I fucking thoroughly love this man. Eleven solid years of top shelf fighting, never saying no, taking fights on short notice, racking up bonus after bonus, and just being an overall awesome human being. Thank you Cowboy.
I haven't watched this video yet but God I hope this isn't his last fight even though it probably should be for his best interest so he doesn't have too much brain damage when he's older if he doesn't already but for my selfish reasons I would love to see him fight 20 more times same with Tony Ferguson
Thats crazy for real, he’ll be watching fights with his dad drinking beer. But the negative about it is watching the losses. I wouldnt want to watch them thats self torture
@@AkamapD its only negative if thats all you see. Losses are the learning opportunities and he will be able to tell him, “listen, I got my ass beat here and here, but I kept working at it and coming back, and thats how life works.” Its much more valuable to me than what Khabib can say 😂
Donald is one of the real ones. It's been an absolute pleasure watching his career. Win or lose this weekend he should feel nothing but pride about what he was able to bring to the sport with his legacy.
Win or lose, forever a legend and one of my all time favorite fighters. I've been blessed to be able too basically see his entire career playout, from WEC up to now he's been a joy to watch. If this is the last one, go out firing cowboy
Seeing his authentic emotion truly demonstrates his evolution as a human being, a Father, a true experiencer of love. Thank you, Cowboy for letting us ALL shed tears WITH YOU. ❤️
man its like losing someone that you are closed to when these fighters retire. Love yeah cowboy ! you are a legend i have watched your whole career. good luck on your future
@@LiLPicantee yeah it’s borderline fucking retarded to compare it to losing someone you’re close to🤣 10 years of RU-vid and this music first time commenting
Agreed. Adore him. I worry, though. He's had enough IMO. He sounds either drunk or on his way to punch-drunk in this interview. I hope he quits before it's too late.
Maybe check out his wikipedia controversies page? dudes a garbage human being. I usually don't hate on fighters but I'm glad to see this man leave, dude gropes his fans girfriends at expos and says shit like "what are you gonna do about it"
I heard the dude is a racist and called some black UFC fighters the N word (Bobby Green and Aljo). He also apparently groped female fans and threatened their boyfriends
Definition of a fighter. Never said no to a fight. And always showed class. One of the best and most badass men to ever grace the octagon. Hats off to the Cowboy.
What a fighter this man has been. Everybody else pretends "anybody, anytime, anywhere", cowboy has done that for real his entire career. What a badass, there are no more out there like him. 🤠👏👏👏👏👏
I hood him and rda in a similar light they both have fought everyone and they don’t duck fights I think you could actually count on one hand how many times both those guys have pulled out bc of INJURY
Cowboys done he is no longer Cerrone his name is Cowboy jabroni weak ass dude Glad I was to you g to ever see when he was good cuz the Cowboy I know is a punching bag warm up fight for new guys Glad to see he actual gets to fight a fellow punching bag loser. this fight is loser vs loser who is the world's worst UFC fighter
It isn't just your son that looks up at you with admiration. You've won the hearts and minds of the entire MMA community with your heart and tenacity in the octagon. You're a living legend.
He's right about being a father, you just can't understand the feeling unless you are one. I got emotional thinking of my son watching him get emotional over his. Real man win or lose.
Any kid would be proud to have a legend & HOFer such has Cowboy Cerrone as their father... That is one lucky kid 👏 *Hope you get your well deserved reception*
Talk about a man who has fought them all and achieve all sorts of accolades except for the title... This man is a legend & a future hall of famer without a doubt
This man and Chuck Liddell are my 2 favorite fighter of all time. It's amazing to watch their Careers from the start to the retirement, it hurts but it truly is amazing to watch warriors walk that walk all the way thru. Give them hell cowboy, you got your flowers, now go whoop some ass.
Donald Cerrone giving off that Wolverine vibes in movie Logan... This game has taken so much from him while also giving him everything 👏 Thank you for everything Cowboy
Since the beginning of me watching this sport, this man has been one of my favorites. I love him and what he has done for this sport. All I want in my life is to leave a legacy just as broad for my little boy. I love him so much and I just want him to be happy that I’m his mom. I have lots of role models in this sport but Cowboy, I model myself after you in more ways than one. Love you man
I feel Donald when he talks about his son and gets emotional. When I talk about my son I get the same way. It's the overwhelming love for them and wanting them to be proud of you.
Never forget, to show you're the proud one. Of them! My father was never proud of me and I didn't care about HIS achievements. I just wanted time with him, not his accolades.
Woah man, I'm not a dad yet but the see the raw love that dude had for his son. It was absolutely incredible! He's always been true to himself and wants his son to see his legacy one last time. I got so much damn respect for this guy it's insane. Cowboy is a real one.
Dudes a loser people say he used to be great well to young to know about it the cowboy I know is a loser punching bag for the upcomers glad he actually gets to fight another loser this fight is Loser vs Loser who is the UFCs worst fighter
Man this hit me in the feels so incredibly hard. This sport is so much more than to men in a cage trying to kill each other, and if ya know than ya know. This guy is the class of the ufc! Instant tears for me
Yeah man, the way we watch these guys entire lives work play out in front of us, all their best accomplishments and worse failures. UFC is a metaphor for the hardness of life and how fleeting our mortality is. Such a trip watching these gents over the years. I'm spiritually a better person for it.
Jesus, I thought that this day would never come... WEC Cowboy is was REALLY got me into MMA. WEC anything really. But this man is a legend and I just wanna see him have a happy and healthy rest of his life. He earned it 100x over. EDIT: and yes, that shit made me cry also... Danger means everything to this man.
Forever grateful for this man fr you can tell he has a pure heart & genuinely cares about his seed gotta love that type of energy man we’re all human at the end of the day
No one can dispute he's never ducked a fight or pulled out. (That's what she said) Hes been the definition of what s great fighter and human should act even if he doesn't bring any drama leading up to a fight. It might not sell as good but no one can really say anything bad about who he is as a human. It's been a pleasure watching you fight Cowboy.
@@coomodus2592 Apparently, you didnt.. bc I sure as hell did. I've been a fan of Cowboy since he fought in the WEC ans so have many other fans. How could you NOT?? Jesus, he poured his heart out there and knows that he is about to hang it up...
Gonna miss cowboy. What a legend of the sport, everyone will miss cowboy. Can’t wait for his fight and I’ll be heartbroken if he loses this, what a moment it will be for him to go out with a win. 🥂 I can’t wait to see the crowd and the energy when he walks out! Let’s go Donald. ❤️
The end of an era. Been with you since the WEC days. My 14yo dog died in March and it showed me I'm not the same dog I used to be either. The cowboy days are gone. All the love in the world for you
Cowboy 🤠 holds the UFC record for most finishes (16), as well as the record for most knockdowns (20) and most kick-induced knockouts (7). A legend and hall of famer. Hope he ends it in a win

His son should be proud... win or loose. You can see, how much his relationship with his son means to him. Cowboy has had a career to be proud of... being a good father is hie legacy. World needs more dads like that
Donald Brother, this hit me, ive always been a fan , but this is you at yer best , it brings me to a time when we had an event and i caught my boy lookin' at me with that look of,, thats my DaD . i had to turn away as the chin was rumplin' , Much Love .
@buckin Billy nah I don't think so,there's old fighters that can still go and not quit,we as fans don't know if this is cowboy at his best, that's an understatement
Cowboy, you are for real! Real men cry, I always pray for you, when you fight. Take good care of your lill man. I'm old but have enjoyed watching and PRAYING you all don't get hurt. Blessings also for your Grandma.
Felt that. Cowboy 👊🏼💪🏻 My daughter is 6YO and asked me the other day if I will play ice hockey until I am really old, because she wants to play on my team and score a goal. Unlikely to happen but it felt good to know that she has seen her dad out there trying my best, having fun, being part of something. Special times.
I am clipping this and sending it to friends - just to helpt them understand that they cant understand ..until they have kids of their own. making your child proud and feeling their love and joy is something truly special I was always open for emotions and fond of children, but I still didnt expected the intensity of it all good luck to Donald
I’m definitely shedding a tear when this man retires. What a warrior. His fight resume is scary as hell. It’s amazing he’s still fighting when you take in consideration everyone he’s fought. Always gonna be one of my favorites of all time. Love you Cowboy. Thanks for all the amazing fights.

I find myself crying at times or get teary-eyed when I think about my baby . As a real father a real man it hits you in ways no one can hit you . Fatherly love is something unexplainable ❤️. To all those cowards who ran on their kids you don't even know what your missing.
Awww man we love you cowboy and you are an amazing MAN and such an inspiration. Your son is so proud of you bro just like all of us are. We are so proud of you!!!!!! Hats off fam
I’m so happy to hear what he said about himself. Bro lost a couple fights he should have had but like he said no discipline at his home. All the freedom of whatever he wants to do. And him being trained again just excites me more for the fight way to go bro!! We always got your back bud 💪🏽💯
Was just looking at his record.... I don't think i've seen a more illustrious resume, just endless amounts of killers(a lot of them in their prime too). Gonna miss him 💪💪thanks for all the iconic fights Cowboy
Yeah at the end of the day, that Tapology account is the real trophy. People can’t see your belts, fights, philanthropic efforts, or none of that. Just who you fought, and when you fought them . Even wins and losses don’t matter at that point. You fought cans or you fought killers, that’s that .
@@omegaweapon116 being ranked in the top 10 fighters for your weight in the world for most of your long career is not “average” or “mediocre” lmao. The lowest ranked flyweight would tap u in under a minute.
The absolute embodiment of what it means to be a “REAL” Ultimate Fighter... Much respect Cowboy... Honor, Integrity and respect will transition to your son because of the way you have conducted yourself in this life
Im a 29 year old man Did 6 years in a maximum security prison and I fucking cried like a baby watching cowboy get emotional. EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT FOR THE FAM
8:40 We fucking love you Cowboy, now I can't wait to see the performance you put on! Let's fucking go man, can't hate on him for getting emotional. So meaningful for him, love it when people are authentic.
An absolute legend of the sport... you'll be missed when you do leave. He always speaks from the heart, always admired that about him. 1 of the best 😍🏆🙌👊❤
I have a 2 and 4 year old daughter. I'm about to take this fatherhood to the next level because of you. You just let that fire underneath this dog to make sure I raise my girls get the right way and be an example. Thank you for your heart and motivation.
Watching this video is what made you decide to “take this fatherhood to the next level”? Your weak minded, You should already be trying to be the best father you can be.
@@aintfromrounhere8099 was gonna comment this lmao, as good as his intentions were, why tf does it take a video for you to realize that you need to be a good father, isn't them being in ur life enough? but either hope you retain that fire and give them a good life :)
Always loved watching this guy fight and seeing him succeed over the years. Such a good dude. Win or lose, doesn't matter this guy is the real deal, in and out of the cage. Good luck Cowboy, you the man
