The Lucky Dime Caper Starring Donald Duck, known in Japan as Donald Duck's Lucky Dime is a platform game released for Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear in 1991. It is the 8-bit
counterpart to QuackShot (a Sega Mega
Drive_Genesis-only release), another Disney-licensed game which also features Donald Duck as the main character, though the two games differ in story and gameplay. A sequel to Lucky Dime Caper, Deep Duck Trouble, also featuring Donald Duck, was released for Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear in 1993
The evil witch Magica De Spell has stolen Uncle Scrooge's Number One Dime and kidnapped his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Donald Duck embarks on a mission, traveling around the world to save his three nephews and recover Scrooge's lucky dime.

i used to play this, Alex Kidd and Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion a lot. Good times. I still love the background music.

Me, too, I used to play Super Kick Off, Micro Machines, Batman Returns, The Lucky Dime Caper, Starring Donald Duck, and many other Master System games, when I was a child, too.

I always found the graphics in this game so.... staggeringly good. I mean really the only problem with the Master System was it's audio chip. Had they put the FM chip in there that they had put in the Japanese one? It would have been a beast of a console.

I never beated this game, nor in the actual console nor in emulator. The VERY ironic thing was that I got stuck (the game frozen) due to a bug right after dying in a specific place on the last stage and this happened on BOTH the actual cartridge on the console and the rom on an emulator, leaving me with no choice other than reset the game. I definitely got traumatized by this game... (chills) 😨

I know the SMS version is better because the bigger screen, allowing the player to better see enemies and hazards, but I really feel the intro and end animation of the Game Gear version is nicer than those of the SMS version.

Australia also uses PAL Master System like Europe and the music is the same, maybe a bit faster though on the NTSC version.
